Stores Operative

Equans is looking for a Stores Operative to join our team in Wakefield for our Pinderfield & Pontefract Hospital contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

JOB PURPOSE: To control and manage the receipt and distribution of all goods from Central Store to designated area.

JOB SUMMARY: To provide a customer focused, Stock Management service that ensures customers maintain optimum stock level at all times to meet their needs. This requires co-ordinating a team within the Central Store, prioritising work loads and expediting stock to meet demands.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To self-monitor the Stock Management Services against the contractual obligations.
2. To ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved and maintained in line with the contract, ensuring all necessary documentation associated with KPI reporting is completed
3. To ensure compliance in relation to Company Procedures for Health, Safety and Environment, Service Delivery, Quality, Finance and HR.
4. Support the implementation operational policies and procedures in line with Contract obligations.
5. To ensure the protection of EQUANs property against damage, loss, theft and waste.
6. To ensure the effective receipt and storage of materials into Central Store, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and controlled.
7. To investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies.
8. On occasion, to operate Forklift and motorised Tugs. (authorised drivers only)
9. To ensure compliance with Quality Standards

Training and Education
1. To provide technical and Health and Safety Training to staff as part of the induction process, assessing and monitoring employee skills on an ongoing basis.
2. To identify team and individual training needs and ensure continuous development of staff through staff appraisals and performance reviews.
3. To ensure staff are trained to operate Forklifts and/or motorized Tugs where appropriate.

Resources and Finance
1. To review budget costs for labour and materials with the Technical Services Manager on a weekly basis.
2. Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly stored, maintained and used by staff.

Staffing
1. To be an integral member of a professional Stock Management team providing direction to the site team on a day to day basis.
2. To ensure staff understand and acknowledge team and personal performance expectations under the Contract.
3. To be responsible for ensuring Return to Work Interviews are carried out with all staff and liaising with HR in managing attendance levels for the section.
4. To support the development and implementation of Multi-skilling and Skillsbadge for operative staff.

Planning and Policy
1. Support the site teams in the planning and implementation of change to improve the service and operational quality.
2. Assist in the planning, delivery and review of all aspects relating to the provision of Stock Management Services, driving efficiency and processing improvement.
3. To resolve issues in a pro-active manner, using initiative and judgement to ensure a high quality, focused service that is responsive to the needs of all users.
4. In conjunction with the Facilities Services Manager, to take appropriate corrective action to ensure standards of performance are maintained.
5. Responsible for ensuring Company Policies are implemented and adhered.
6. To be responsible for on-going monitoring to ensure that programmes of a continuous service improvements are delivered, suggesting areas where efficiency could be improved.
7. To make regular judgements of a routine noncomplex nature, of operational procedures with health and safety requirements.
8. To work with the site team to contribute to changes in and implementation of practices within Stock Management Services.
9. To co-ordinate, prioritise and delegate activities as appropriate.

Communication
1. Liaise with wards/departments and develop good customer relations to ensure effective service delivery.
2. To ensure Team Briefs/Connect Briefs are cascaded to all staff to improve internal communications, the flow of information and staff feedback.
3. To provide reports as directed by your nominated line manager on key operational activities and developments.
4. To ensure staff are informed about the service they provide and about service developments and changes.

General Overview:
This position is a Maintenance Response Operative Mechanical/ Boilerman
We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the team at Royal Blackburn Hospital. They will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements, and will establish good working relationships with other team members. It is a hands-on maintenance role that requires experience and sound awareness of working safely with equipment. Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and ability to follow instruction and work to plans. The roles main duties will include electrical maintenance, and assisting other members of the technical staff on site.
• Help ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations and helping us to achieve our H&S target.

Impact:
The Maintenance Engineer carries out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the healthcare estate. The position ensures that EQUANS are able to meet their statutory and contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers.The Engineer makes up part of the facilities maintenance team which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the estate and associated engineering systems that is conducive for the delivery of healthcare

Complexity:
The maintenance engineer will complete engineering activities and undertake duties for which their trained and competent to do. There is an Estates management team based on site that can offer specialised technical advice and who can liaise with the appropriate levels of management to facilitate specialist isolations necessary to undertake certain engineering works.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
• Previously worked within a maintenance environment.
• Worked on Mechanical Systems, DHW, LPHW, CHW
• Worked on Steam Systems (desirable)
• Autoclaves (desirable)
• Electrical qualifications (desirable)

Maintenance Assistant - Water Flusher

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a casual Maintenance Assistant to join our Facilities Management team carrying out water flushing at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh.  This is a casual zero hours position working on an as required basis.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
  • To deliver routine maintenance predominantly water flushing and general duties as allocated by management 
  • Carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the site, this will also include Grounds and Gardens work and manual labouring tasks.
  • Carry out PAT testing following training completion
  • Carry out general duties including relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms
  • To cover for other team members when needed
  • Working on an as required basis

The person:

  • Must have previous building services maintenance experience
  • Good understanding of installation and maintenance techniques with excellent working knowledge of carpentry and plumbing.
  • Ability to manage workload and plan day effectively
  • Desirable to have previous experience in a healthcare environment
  • A team player with strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate, and ambition for personal development
  • Valid driving licence essential for driving company vehicles
  • Able to work on own initiative with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.

General Operative

We have an opportunity for a General Operative to carryout street lighting maintenance and installations across the eastern side of Kent. This is a permanent full-time position working 07:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Key activities:

  • To carry out instructions daily as laid down in the Task Instruction Sheets and the Companies Operations Manual.
  • Operate a MEWP
  • Carry out work in accordance with the regulations and to the client specifications.

Painter

Equans is looking for a Painter to join our team in EDF Torness, East Lothian, EH42 1QS on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri, 08.30 - 16.30

What will you deliver?

  • Undertake painting duties and competent in the use of power tools.
  • Carry out work safely and efficiently , as directed by Supervisor. 
  • Ensure all equiptment used is done to comply with company and manufacturer standards.

Mobile Fabric Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile Fabric Engineer to join our team on the HMCTS contract covering Central London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

You will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets. Ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities. Duties will include but won't be limited to:

  • Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect/replace luminaries
  • Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • General site services; to include, sweeping and tidying
  • Carry out Ad-Hoc activities supporting the EquansE and Client team including Moves/Changes

Who are we looking for?

Must have an NVQ (or similar) in one of the below –

  • Plumbing
  • Carpentry
  • Decorating services

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques.
  • Understanding of Legionella control techniques e.g. tap flushing

This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
