We currently have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Maintenance Supervisor to join our facilities management team working on our Metropolitan Police contract based at Lewisham police station and covering two other police sites at Sutton and Bromley.  This is a permanent full-time mobile role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • To oversee/manage PPM and Reactive maintenance duties to assets on the contract either with direct labour or subcontractors for the Hard FM services working across Metropolitan Police South East London and Gravesend sites
  • To supervise staff and contractors to ensure that the Mechanical and Electrical elements of the contract are delivered.  This will include input to the CAFM system (Maximo) and KPI monitoring
  • To make recommendations of replacement parts and materials in order to ensure the highest levels of equipment and building availability
  • To ensure that work is carried out to the highest standards and that all statutory legislation is complied with.
  • To develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required. To undertake a proactive approach in ensuring all plant and equipment is fully operational to maintain operational efficiency.
  • To be trained and appointed in at least 2 x AP/RP roles and attend training as necessary to maintain the roles
  • Working 40 hours per week from 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday, plus participation in the on call rota and out of hours activity

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Experience of building maintenance essential
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise workload
  • Good communication skills together with a first class customer service ethic
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems
  • Must hold valid full UK driving license
  • Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting

Hard FM Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hard FM Team Leader to join our facilities team working on our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles police station and covering various police stations across Greater Manchester as required. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Hard Services Manager
  • To carry out maintenance duties as instructed to the highest
    standards according to contract specifications
  • To establish and maintain good working relationships
  • To manage all first line interaction with the Hard Services Team in a formal and informal capacity
  • To coach and develop employees to ensure all are trained effectively in process and procedure
  • To schedule and assign duties to employees, and ensure the highest quality of work is achieved
  • To manage employee holidays to ensure effective coverage at all times
  • Ensure SLA compliance with works raised and carried out
  • Carry out regular health and safety checks across all sites within the contract
  • To provide additional support and cover in work as and when required
  • Working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota

The person:

  • Experience in a similar multi-sited role 
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
  • Relevant general maintenance experience essential and of supervising staff across
    various locations
  • Must be able to pass relevant vetting levels for the client in question
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Relevant general maintenance experience essential
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Computer literate (CAFM experience an advantage)

Maintenance Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team working on our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles police station and covering various police stations across Greater Manchester as required. Key activities:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
  • To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices
  • To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
  • To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate
  • Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials and chemicals are available at all sites
  • Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 5 which includes weekends).

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable
  • Good customer care and people skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised 
  • Basic fabric handyperson skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
  • Requirement to achieve and retain relevant vetting clearance required by the client

What will you deliver?

To carry out the preparation and coating of steel structures, pipework, concrete floors & walls and a variety of other industrial environments. Duties will include:

  • Work closely with other painters and supervisors.

  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate
  • Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials and chemicals are available at all sites
  • Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 5 which includes weekends).

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable
  • Good customer care and people skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised 
  • Basic fabric handyperson skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
  • Requirement to achieve and retain relevant vetting clearance required by the client

Semi Skilled Operative M&E

Equans is looking for a Semi Skilled Operative (M&E) to join our team at the Queen Alexandria Hospital, Portsmouth, PO6 3LY on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £27,000 - £28,000 per annum dependent upon skills and experience. In addition there will be a yearly shift allowance of £2,748 and an excellent benefits package. 

What will you deliver?

To undertake planned, preventative maintenance, testing, repairs and new installation work covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems and buildings associated with the running of a large hospital. 

  • Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provider.
  • Undertake any training as required
  • Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
  • After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’s) and other specialised hospital equipment.
  • Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that’s outside core trade.
  • To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response.
  • Work in highly unpleasant working conditions, unblocking drains and sewers, which include biological hazards of body fluids and noxious fumes.
  • To carry out replacement of lamps and cleaning of all types of light fittings
  • To carry out  cleaning, labouring and driving tasks associated with Estates maintenance as instructed
  • To observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations

Roofer

Equans is looking for Roofers to join our team in Birmingham on a Permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
