General Overview
- To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Roofer to the standards set out by the contract.
- To carry out the duties as a Roofer in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures.
- To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements.

Key Accountabilities
- Provide a high quality service to NIHE tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
- To undertake all elements of 1st and 2nd fix Roofing, and where required undertake roof work.
- Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
- To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
- To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
- To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
- Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
- Compliance with specification and SOR codes
- Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
- Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
- Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
- Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
- Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
- Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
- Maintain and care for all company tools
- To use appropriate safety equipment
- To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
- To ensure areas of work are left clean, tidy and safe at all times
- To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy
- Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc

The Multi-Skilled Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing and associated systems within residential and commercial properties managed by the company. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving stock, as well as regular physical movement around the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Management: Regularly count and manage materials across various hospital departments using a computerised stock control system (PDA), ensuring that stock levels are maintained according to agreed schedules.
- Ordering & Delivery: Produce ‘top-up’ orders and ensure timely transportation of goods to designated wards and departments.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of building systems, plant, equipment, fabric, and grounds across multiple hospital sites. Who are we looking for?
- Must have successfully completed a recognised plumbing apprenticeship and have a proven experience in a similar role carrying out mechanical maintenance duties. Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.

Lead Mechanical Fitter/Engineer
EQUANS is looking for a Lead Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to join our team in Blackburn on a permanent basis for Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
•To undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of mechanical building services. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.
•Represent in a respectful and professional manner.
•Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and associated building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training.
•Respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by supervisor / manager or as a minimum, as per site contract.
•Assist in Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
•Assist in Carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment.
•Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines.
•Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers’ guidelines.
•Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
•Maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic.
•Willingness to assist and work flexibly with other trades/colleagues.
•After a qualifying period take part in the callout/standby rota.
•Ensure liaison with Wards and Departments as required, ensuring there is minimum disruption whilst carrying out work.
•Undertake training where necessary to learn other skills and to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
•Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by supervisor / manager.
•Collaborate and co-operate with the partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focused service.
•Use initiative to make appropriate decisions, including when working out of hours.
•Diligently complete all required job cards and other work-related paperwork to the required standard.
•Complete work within the allotted timeframes.
•Carry out any other identified tasks commensurate with role.
Additional Skills
•Technical issues with steam boilers and related equipment.
•Technical advice and problem solving on water systems and heating issues.
•Laundry/lifecycle meeting, planning, input.
Impact:
The Maintenance engineer carries out planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across the healthcare estate. The position ensures that are able to meet their statutory and contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers.
The operative makes up part of the facilities maintenance team which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the estate and associated engineering systems that is conducive for the delivery of healthcare. Extending the lifecycle of unsupported vital equipment on the contract.
Complexity:
The maintenance engineer undertakes duties for which their trained and competent to do. There is an Estates management team based on site that can offer specialised technical advice and who can liaise with the appropriate levels of management to facilitate specialist isolations necessary to undertake certain engineering works.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
•Previously worked within a maintenance environment.
•NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services or Equivalent
•Experience of working on or with AHU’s, FCU’s, LTHW, Pumps, Pipework, Valves, Chilled and Portable Water Systems and Water Hygiene Systems

•Worked on Steam Systems (desirable)
