About the Role:
Are you a skilled Maintenance Operative looking for a dynamic and rewarding contract role? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team on a permanent contract, working on the Stoke Schools PFI Contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work across 88 sites, carrying out a range of fabric maintenance duties to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of fabric works across multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance on fabric assets such as windows, fire doors, ironmongery, passive fire protection, roofing, and gutters.
- Reactive Maintenance: Undertake minor repair works, including door/window furniture, carpentry, flooring, roofing, painting & decorating, and more.
- Minor Works: Complete minor installations and repairs in line with trade qualifications.
- Health & Safety: Always work in a safe, conscientious manner, conducting risk assessments and adhering to Safe Systems of Working (SSOW).
- Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates on work orders to the helpdesk, ensuring accurate documentation is completed for all works.
- Collaboration: Work alongside the in-house Stoke Schools engineering team to deliver high-quality maintenance services.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: A formal apprenticeship in a relevant City & Guilds Trade Craft.
- Experience: Previous experience in building fabric repairs and maintenance.
- Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment procedures.
- Licensing: A full, clean driving license is essential; IPAF (MEWP) qualification is desirable.
- DBS Check: Enhanced DBS clearance is required to work on-site (dependent on passing clearance).
- Skills: Highly motivated, customer-focused, and collaborative with a strong attention to detail and quality.

Shift Electrician
Equans is looking for a Shift Electrician to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £35,121 per annum with a yearly shift allowance of £10,639. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
You will have opportunity to earn up to an additional £4,300 per annum for AP duties after training.
What will you deliver?
- Working directly to the Electrical Supervisor, the post holder will have the required skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of mechanical, electrical engineering services and building plant as part of a flexible maintenance team, including specialist subcontractors to deliver work to the highest of standards for our clients.
- The main responsibilities include efficiently and effectively performing electrical maintenance of all relevant assets. Work will be assigned from a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule or in response to a reactive work order raised by our client representatives or our own personnel on site. All planned and reactive tasks will be managed through to completion, including fault diagnosis and sourcing parts where applicable. Must be able to demonstrate that awareness of best working practices and that these are always followed. Additional duties to include, working and managing backlog works, assisting when required for specialist projects.
- Working as part of a wider M&E team, there may be a requirement to undertake other tasks that may not be specifically related to electrical systems.

- Must have successfully completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship and have a proven experience in a similar role carrying out electrical maintenance duties.
- Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
- Be competent to undertake/assist work on the type of building service systems and equipment for which the appointment is sought.

General Overview
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within residential and commercial properties. Mobile Electrician

General Overview
To carry out the duties as an Electrician in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. To assist the Team in producing a quality product meeting the requirements of the contract and in a safe manner. Adhere to all requirements set by SHEQ team, policy, and strategy.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out various Electrical tasks to a high standard as instructed by the company including:
- Replacement of Consumer units.
- Installing final sub-circuit wiring.
- Fault finding
- Replacement of final circuit accessories (sockets light switches etc).

- Replacement of light fittings in line with manufactures instructions.

Electrician
EQUANS is looking for an Electrician on a permanent basis. This would be based in Heysham at Heysham Power Station working for our EDF contract. This would include working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Description:
To carry out Installation & maintenance routines unsupervised, diagnose and repair faults on electrical building services, electrical switch gear, domestic and industrial installations and PAT testing.
Technical Competence:
•Formal and recognised apprenticeship served in relevant skill area and have minimum of 4 years relevant and practical experience within building services
•Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
•Able to service and fault find on both conventional and Bespoke installations.

Electrician
EQUANS is looking for an Electrician on a permanent basis. This would be based in Heysham at Heysham Power Station working for our EDF contract. This would include working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Job Description:
To carry out Installation & maintenance routines unsupervised, diagnose and repair faults on electrical building services, electrical switch gear, domestic and industrial installations and PAT testing.
Technical Competence:
•Formal and recognised apprenticeship served in relevant skill area and have minimum of 4 years relevant and practical experience within building services
•Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
•Able to service and fault find on both conventional and Bespoke installations.
•Ability to follow work instructions, read/ interpret technical diagrams and report technical information as required

Electrician
EQUANS is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Salford on a permanent basis, this will be based in Manchester at Trafford Palazzo – this is for our Peel Group contract. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
We have an opportunity available for a static based Resident Electrician on the Peel L&P owned and managed Venus. The role would involve carrying out planned maintenance activities and reactive works on site Excellent customer service skills are required for this site.
Duties:
•Complete all statutory and non-statutory PPM in accordance with annual PPM planners and task instruction sets and customers SLA’s & KPI’s.
•Ensure all site logbooks are kept up to date with the relevant information and certification.
•To identify maintenance needs and produce technical reports on equipment.
•To respond & repair any reactive calls raised through the dedicated EQUANS Service desk and provide relevant task information to the Administration team to ensure all jobs are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer and within the Service Level Agreements (SLA).
•To read, understand and work to generic site PPM risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), completing any additional RAMS for any large works not covered or a point of work general risk assessments for smaller tasks.
•Complete all works to a high standard and to EQUANS quality procedures.
•Supervise/escort subcontractors whilst on site ensuring they follow site security procedures, ensuring work to their RAMs and within EQUANS safe working procedures.
•Be available to participate in the emergency call out rota on the estate and following a reasonable request, be available to work overtime to accommodate site requirements.
•The timely completion of all company forms and statutory documentation, including record keeping and technical reporting.
•To comply with the requirements of the Company’s Policies and Procedures
•Assist other members of the team where multi person tasks are required.
•Wear company uniform at all times and be of a smart and presentable appearance.

The customer Peel Land & Property is an ISO 50001 accredited company and 11 of their properties including the Princes Dock Estate have just become the first in the UK to achieve Net Zero Carbon status. Working in partnership with Peel L&P the onsite team is committed to reducing the estates CO2 emissions in conjunction with our Energy Manager without compromising on the operation of the day-to-day activities. Understanding and aligning plant operation and maintenance activities to achieve them.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
•NVQ Levels 2 & 3 Electrical Installation.
•Qualified to BS7671 18th Edition Regulations.
•City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Test.
•Inspection and Testing of electrical equipment (PAT testing) BS2377 (not essential)
