About the Role:
Are you a skilled Maintenance Operative looking for a dynamic and rewarding contract role? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, working on the Stoke Schools PFI Contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work across 88 sites, carrying out a range of fabric maintenance duties to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of fabric works across multiple sites. Your responsibilities will include:

Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance on fabric assets such as windows, fire doors, ironmongery, passive fire protection, roofing, and gutters.
Reactive Maintenance: Undertake minor repair works, including door/window furniture, carpentry, flooring, roofing, painting & decorating, and more.
Minor Works: Complete minor installations and repairs in line with trade qualifications.
Health & Safety: Always work in a safe, conscientious manner, conducting risk assessments and adhering to Safe Systems of Working (SSOW).
Reporting & Updates: Provide regular updates on work orders to the helpdesk, ensuring accurate documentation is completed for all works.
Collaboration: Work alongside the in-house Stoke Schools engineering team to deliver high-quality maintenance services.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications: A formal apprenticeship in a relevant City & Guilds Trade Craft.
Experience: Previous experience in building fabric repairs and maintenance.
Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk assessment procedures.
Licensing: A full, clean driving license is essential; IPAF (MEWP) qualification is desirable.
DBS Check: Enhanced DBS clearance is required to work on-site (dependent on passing clearance).
Skills: Highly motivated, customer-focused, and collaborative with a strong attention to detail and quality.

Mobile Electrician

EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Electrician to join our team in Flintshire at Mold Crown Court on a permanent basis for HMCTS. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Electrical Buildings Services Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.
-Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
-Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
-Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
-Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
-Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
-Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
-To develop a good working relationship with all members of EQUANS staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
-Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
-Ensure the professional image of EQUANS is presented to clients at all times
-Ensure up to date plant logs are kept at all times
-Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of EQUANS are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
-Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
-To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
-To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
-Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
-Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
-Ensure CAFM system, e.g. PlanOn, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
-To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with EQUANS Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
-To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
-The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

Client / Customer
•Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
•Coordinate quotations with the contract manager
•Production of information for quotations

Helpdesk - PPM
•Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive maintenance
•Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract

Compliance
•To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP/LVAP/HVAP and to issue PTW to Subcontractors and EQUANS staff
•Ensure both self-delivered and subcontracted maintenance, testing and inspection activities are in compliance with the latest version of BS7671, ensuring that all remedials are carried out
•Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required
•Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur

SHEQ
•Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
•Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
•Ensue PPE is safe to use
•Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
•Ensure your test equipment is within calibration
•Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works

Impact:
Working to high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable and competent Electrician who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing high quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.

Complexity:
The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find and diagnose and rectify complex Electrical faults and issues unaided.
Have an excellent knowledge of Electrical systems, which will enable the development of switching schedules and Safety Documentation prior to shutdowns.
To plan and oversee electrical shutdowns to permit maintenance or testing.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
- 236 City & Guild Electrical qualified/ 232 or equivalent, 239 Inspection and test desirable but not essential, or any other relevant electrical qualification
- 17th edition IEE Qualified or 18th ideally
- M&E Maintenance background

Fabric Operative - Carpenter

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fabric Operative- Carpenter to join our facilities team at North Middlesex University Hospital in Edmonton. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly.

The role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager
Undertake or oversee all fabric works and elements of statutory compliance
Carry out all fabric duties such as carpentry, painting & decorating, replacing ceiling tiles and laying carpet tiles
To undertake PPM and reactive works to ensure that all jobs are completed
To immediately report any potentially dangerous situations
To order materials and services using ordering system and to update records and job sheets to certify satisfactory delivery/completion
Carry out and record all required compliance checks such as Water Hygiene checks in accordance with ACOP L8 and Fire Door checks in accordance with BM TRADA and others
To oversee specialist sub-contractors by escorting round the building and monitoring work
Working 40 hours per week, from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly.

The person:

Must hold a Fabric or Carpentry qualification to minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and be able to carry out general fabric repairs (doors and panels)
Will possess varied fabric skills, including fire doors checks/repairs, door panels/fire stopping repairs and shower accessory replacements
Experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable
Essential to have an understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
Good understanding of Health & Safety
Understanding of the Maximo CAFM system is desirable
Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team; proactive, flexible, can-do attitude

What You’ll Do:

PPM & Reactive Maintenance: Complete all statutory and non-statutory PPM in accordance with the Annual PPM planner, and respond to reactive calls for joinery, plumbing, painting, and other tasks as needed.
Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all site logbooks are updated with relevant information and certifications. Adhere to risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and complete all works to EQUANS’ quality procedures.

Customer Service: Work closely with the Facilities team to ensure jobs are completed to customer satisfaction within the specified service level agreements (SLA).

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications & Experience: Recognised industry qualifications (C&G/NVQ required), with experience in joinery, plumbing, or other related skills.
Desirable Qualifications: IPAF Powered Access Licence, PASMA, and First Aid certification (not essential but an advantage).
Skills & Competencies: Experience in building maintenance, plumbing, and multi-skilled tasks. Strong reporting and estimating skills for quotations.

EQUANS are recruiting for a Joiner to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,620 plus van and fuel card and benefits package.

General Overview

To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Joiner to the standards set out by the contract.
To carry out the duties as a Joiner in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures.
To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements.
To ensure you complete the full sequence of events on PDA and the completion of jobs for invoicing.
Efficient use of the Impact system.
To adhere to the Client contract KPI’s and, target dates and timeframes.
OOH and Standby participation is essential

Key Accountabilities

Provide a high-quality service to NIHE tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
To undertake all elements of 1st and 2nd fix Joinery, and where required undertake roof work.
Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
Compliance with specification and SOR codes
Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
Maintain and care for all company tools

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team providing FM maintenance at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Ensure the immediate and proper allocation of work, and the completion of such work in accordance with the performance monitoring system and to client satisfaction.
Use of the Maximo CAFM system.
Order materials and services as required within agreed delegation level and certify satisfactory delivery/completion.
Monitor trade staff performance, time-keeping and sickness in accordance with Company Policy.
Provide estimates for quoted works, site measurements, cost control information and maintain necessary records for effective administration as directed.
Required to undertake training and qualify as Authorised Person and/or Competent Person if required.
Requirement to work with tools as necessary day to day, during emergencies and supporting staff
Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will be required to participate in a call-out rota system to assist the company in responding to emergency situations.

The person:

Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; electrical trade qualifications are desirable
Will have significant experience in a building services environment with comprehensive mechanical and electrical knowledge ideally within a hospital environment
Will be a team player ideally with supervisory / management experience
Will be client-focused with a delivery oriented and ‘can-do’ approach to work
Able to demonstrate knowledge and application of the various trade groups to be managed i.e. building works, mechanical and electrical engineering
Good communication and customer service skills
Able to obtain DBS clearance

Senior Maintenance Electrician

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Maintenance Electrician to join our team providing Building Services maintenance at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, from 07:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday with a 30 minute unpaid break.

The role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager / Head of Estates
Supervise, lead and motivate all staff within your responsibility to ensure allocated and reactive work is completed to a defined standard, within the agreed time and budget.
Carry out maintenance/repair of mechanical/electrical services to plant and equipment across the site and also refurbishments and new works
Supervise sub-contractors for all mechanical / electrical / building work, ensuring work is carried out and completed in compliance with contract specification and to client satisfaction
Carry out maintenance/repair/refurbishments/new works to plant and equipment across site
Plan, prioritise and delegate work in accordance with response and rectification times set out in the contract for all trade staff and contract labour ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed within the required timescales
Working 40 hours per week, from 07:00 to 15:30, Monday to Friday with participation in the on-call rota

The person:

Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience
Must be appointed in at least 2 electrical AP roles, and attend any training as necessary to maintain these
Excellent knowledge of building maintenance including HVAC systems, gas appliances, piped medical gas systems, steam plant/equipment and all other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas, and other departments.
Experience in managing and maintaining safe system of works (SSoW)
Team player and able to motivate and manage staff, including specialist sub-contractors
Able to communicate well with the client, as well as with peers, team and senior management.

Resident Maintenance Assistant

EQUANS is looking for a Resident Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Macclesfield on a permanent basis at Alderley Park. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
The role of the Residential Maintenance Assistant will include carrying out several tasks on contracted customer sites These will include:
•Legionella Required Tasks, Weekly Flushing, Monthly Temperature Testing, shower disinfections, Hot water system checks, CWST inspections and testing, tank turnover recording, Testing and maintenance of TMV’s
•Proactive improvements to customers water systems
•Small repairs to pipework
•Reactive requests for repairs
•Plantroom cleaning and inspections
•Joining an out of hours callout rota
•Contractor Escorting duties

This role will involve hands on work delivering the services above with some customer contact. The successful applicant will build an on-going relationship with all customers looking after the needs of the site and making improvements where applicable.
The Engineer will report into their Manager and the Account Manager.
The right candidate will be expected to work Monday to Friday at Alderley Park and may be required to work on other sites. Will also be required to work on a shift basis, working lates and earlies as required.
The successful candidate will be required to have legionella awareness qualifications, the candidate must have experience of maintaining, and repairing pipework, upgrading and repairing building plumbing systems. This is an active role, and the candidate would be required to walk in excess of 10,000 steps per day.
The successful candidate will also be required to join a callout rota and be part of the escalation procedure.
There will be training offered by EQUANS and Client for the right candidate

Impact:
The role has a medium impact on the company, responsibility will be taken by the candidate for the maintenance and repair of client’s building management systems acquired the impact will steadily increase, with greater responsibility taken for the maintenance and operation of systems.

Complexity:
The role involves gaining a good understanding of different complex technical control systems, and the ability to determine the cause of individual and multiple faults within each system.
The job holder must have the ability to learn quickly and approach problems in a measured and logical manner.
The role also involves the acquisition of communications skills to be able to explain and report on the above in plain and simple language to ‘non-technical’ clients.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
City & Guilds / BTec / ACOP L8, LCA
NVQ plumbing qualifications
Experience in Legionella Awareness and tasks
Experience working with computers/Tablet/Phones and CAFM systems
Experience working with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Plant
Unvented Hot Water systems qualification
