Resident Maintenance Assistant
EQUANS is looking for a Resident Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Macclesfield on a permanent basis at Alderley Park. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
The role of the Residential Maintenance Assistant will include carrying out several tasks on contracted customer sites These will include:
•Legionella Required Tasks, Weekly Flushing, Monthly Temperature Testing, shower disinfections, Hot water system checks, CWST inspections and testing, tank turnover recording, Testing and maintenance of TMV’s
•Proactive improvements to customers water systems
•Small repairs to pipework
•Reactive requests for repairs
•Plantroom cleaning and inspections
•Joining an out of hours callout rota
•Contractor Escorting duties
This role will involve hands on work delivering the services above with some customer contact. The successful applicant will build an on-going relationship with all customers looking after the needs of the site and making improvements where applicable.
The Engineer will report into their Manager and the Account Manager.
The right candidate will be expected to work Monday to Friday at Alderley Park and may be required to work on other sites. Will also be required to work on a shift basis, working lates and earlies as required.
The successful candidate will be required to have legionella awareness qualifications, the candidate must have experience of maintaining, and repairing pipework, upgrading and repairing building plumbing systems. This is an active role, and the candidate would be required to walk in excess of 10,000 steps per day.
The successful candidate will also be required to join a callout rota and be part of the escalation procedure.
There will be training offered by EQUANS and Client for the right candidate
Impact:
The role has a medium impact on the company, responsibility will be taken by the candidate for the maintenance and repair of client’s building management systems acquired the impact will steadily increase, with greater responsibility taken for the maintenance and operation of systems.
Complexity:
The role involves gaining a good understanding of different complex technical control systems, and the ability to determine the cause of individual and multiple faults within each system.
The job holder must have the ability to learn quickly and approach problems in a measured and logical manner.
The role also involves the acquisition of communications skills to be able to explain and report on the above in plain and simple language to ‘non-technical’ clients.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
City & Guilds / BTec / ACOP L8, LCA
NVQ plumbing qualifications
Experience in Legionella Awareness and tasks
Experience working with computers/Tablet/Phones and CAFM systems
Experience working with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Plant
Unvented Hot Water systems qualification

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will possess strong electrical maintenance knowledge and have completed a recognised apprenticeship. The role focuses on maintaining the safe and continuous operation of electrical supplies, building systems, plant, and equipment. You will be a part of a flexible maintenance team, ensuring the smooth operation of critical hospital systems in areas such as operating theatres, renal, and endoscopy departments.
What will you deliver?
- Adhere to Equans' safe operation standards, including working with Low Voltage, Mechanical, Pressure, Water, Medical Gas, and Confined Spaces systems.
- Follow the Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTMs) and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Perform both planned and reactive electrical maintenance tasks, ensuring timely resolution of issues to avoid contractual penalties.
- Create Method Statements and Risk Assessments for issuing Permits-to-Work.
- Perform tasks such as electrical system maintenance, emergency lighting checks, fire alarm tests, water and medical gas system upkeep, and pressure system maintenance.
- Complete all necessary reports, test certificates, and Task Assessment sheets both electronically and in hard copy.
- Work collaboratively with the Facilities Team Leader, assisting with equipment failures and organising the supply of goods/services as required.
- Participate in overtime work and an on-call rota to support maintenance activities.
- Travel to other sites as needed and liaise professionally with clients, particularly NHS personnel.

Who are we looking for?
- Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship with proven experience in electrical maintenance.
- Competency in building service systems, with a solid understanding of equipment operation.
- Experience in hospital maintenance is desirable but not essential.

Maintenance Electrician

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities maintenance team at West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor
- To provide technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department by carrying out preventative maintenance to deadline plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
- To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
- To manage sub-contractors as necessary working to a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
- To undertake AP/RP duties for the disciplines for which you have been appointed
- Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with a requirement to participate in the out of hours on call rota and be able to respond/attend site within one hour of the call
The person:
- Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience; AP in HV desirable

- Willingness to attain cross skilling and IT Literate

Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias)
EQUANS is looking for a Multi-Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias) to join our team in Salford on a permanent basis at Tameside & Salford Hospitals. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Equans are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Technician – Electrical, based at Salford Royal Hospital, but may also infrequently be required to cover Salford Royal Hospital, the Multi-Skilled Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards at Salford Royal Hospital. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical
expertise in Electrical systems. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The Technician will have technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area and will form part of the out of hours on call rota.
Working hours are 37.5 hours per week. With a week about split working pattern – Week 1 07:00 – 15:00, Week 2 10:00 – 18:00
-Ensure workload is planned, delivered to specification and agreed service requirement.
-Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
-Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
-Install, maintain and repair plant equipment.
-Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
-Flexible working hours required.
-Administer and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
-Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, including sub-contractors management, completing all relevant permits.
-Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
-Full driving licence required
-At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of Equans in the workplace.
-Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
-Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager as required.
-Attend training courses funded for by Equans as required for business purposes.

Qualifications or Required Experience:.
-Recognised electrical apprenticeship.
-18th Edition.
-Experience of working on lighting and small power circuits
-Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
-Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
-Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
Desirable Experience:
-PFI/Healthcare experience would be an advantage. But further formal training and familiarisation will be offered for the right candidate.
-Experience with reviewing detailed schematics.
-Use of a Building Management System (BMS)

Mobile Electrical Technician
EQUANS is looking for a Mobile Electrical Technician to join our team in Liverpool on a permanent basis at Knowsley Schools. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
This is a role for a proven HV Authorised 18th edition qualified Electrical Technician. Supported by a strong operational team, the focus is developing, maintaining and improving the Electrical systems across the Knowsley Schools PFI estate. The contract involves GSHP, gas boilers and chillers as a means of supply of heat, electricity and cooling to the range of buildings.
In particular;
•Demonstrate the ability to maintain plant and equipment to agreed specifications and operation
•Develop an in-depth knowledge of the relevant individual contracts
•Ensure paperwork is up to date and correctly completed
•Ensure all jobs are closed down promptly
Impact:
•Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations within the School Buildings..
•Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place.
•Issuing of relative working permits.
•Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
•Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment.
•Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilisation of plant and equipment
•Interrogation of operational information systems to support daily operations as well as fault diagnosis
•Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently.
•Any other relevant duties that may be required, some of which may be outside normal working hours.
