We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team providing maintenance at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.  This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 0700-1530 / 1000-1830, shift times alternating weekly. 

The role:

  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • Undertake maintenance technical duties that are within training and competence, both as planned and reactive work.
  • To order materials and services as required and update records
  • Carry out emergency light testing, replacement of light bulbs and chokes / ballasts unit, maintenance of air conditioning / fan coil units etc.
  • To oversee specialist sub-contractors
  • To cover for other technicians as necessary in various buildings
  • To participate in the on call manager’s rota and work to the demands of the business
  • Working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 0700-1530 / 1000-1830, shift times alternating weekly. 

The person:

  • Must have basic maintenance experience
  • Must have experience of building services and to have worked in an estates/facilities function ideally in a healthcare setting
  • Desirable to have knowledge of Legionella and maintaining Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV’s)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude
  • Good IT skills - Maximo/CAFM experience would be desirable

Maintenance Electrician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.  This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 0700-1530 / 1000-1830 (40 hours per week), shift times alternating weekly. 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Shift Lead / Operations Manager
  • To deliver electrical planned and reactive maintenance and scheduled installation works
  • To oversee specialist sub-contractors, and manage contractors as necessary, working to a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
  • To ensure that PPM and Reactive tasks are attended to in accordance with the contract timescales at all times.
  • To cover for other technicians as necessary
  • To participate in the on call rota, and carry out overtime as required
  • Working 40 hours per week, 7am-3.30pm/10am-6.30pm (alternating weekly) Monday to Friday


Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 2 or 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience
  • Good knowledge of electrical testing, fault finding, maintenance, refurbishment and install.
  • Must be able to work independently and when appropriate as part of a team.
  • Willing to attain cross skilling
  • Must have extensive experience of building services in a maintenance role
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose technical faults
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate, and ambition for personal development

Equans is working closely in partnership with the National Lottery following a successful bid for an 18-month project.

Equans is looking for an Installer to join our team in a Mobile capacity Cardiff, covering the South of Wales on a 16 Month Fixed Term contract. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,000 per annum and you will receive an excellent benefits package.

 


What will you deliver? 

  • The role involves the Installation and deinstallation of National Lottery equipment across the UK and Ireland at Circa 44,000 retailers.
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget

EQUANS are recruiting for a Labourer to be based in Londonderry. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £25,504 and benefits package.

General Overview

  • To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Labourer to the standards set out by the contract. 
  • To carry out the duties as a Labourer in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures.

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in College Road, Birmingham on a permanent basis.

This is a full time role to carry out repairs and maintenance work to the homes and properties repaired and maintained by the Company in a multi-skilled environment whilst achieving high standards of customer care and satisfaction.

Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join our facilities team at Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre in Cambridge city centre.  This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours p/week, from 07.00 to 15.30 /14.00 to 22.00, Monday to Friday rotating weekly.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • To supervise the electrical/mechanical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
  • Ensure the immediate and proper allocation of work, and the completion of such work in accordance with the performance monitoring system and to client satisfaction.
  • Use of the Maximo CAFM system.
  • Order materials and services as required within agreed delegation level and certify satisfactory delivery/completion.
  • Monitor trade staff performance, time-keeping and sickness
  • Provide estimates for quoted works, site measurements, cost control information and maintain necessary records for effective administration as directed.
  • Required to undertake training and qualify as AP and/or CP if required.
  • Requirement to work with tools as necessary
  • Working 40 hours per week from 07.00 to 15.30 /14.00 to 22.00, Monday to Friday rotating weekly with participation in the on call rota

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical discipline with suitable industry experience; 18th Edition essential and Testing & Inspection certification desirable
  • Significant experience in a building services environment with comprehensive M&E knowledge
  • Will be a team player with prior supervisory / management experience
  • Will be client-focused with a delivery oriented and ‘can-do’ approach to work
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and application of the various trade groups to be managed i.e. building works, mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Able to obtain DBS clearance

Mobile Electrician

Equans is recruiting for a Mobile Electrician on the HMCTS contract based from Merthyr Tydfil covering various sites across South Wales. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
 

What will you deliver?

  • Conduct routine PPM on electrical infrastructure and plant per site task schedules and CAFM system.
  • Promptly address and resolve plant faults and defects to maintain serviceable order.
  • Perform control and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary spares for maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales for remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and CAFM entries for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
  • Develop positive working relationships with all Equans staff, subcontractors, and client representatives. Maintain a professional image at all times.

  • Monitor sub-contractors’ work while on site, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Electrical Technician

Equans is looking for an Electrical Technician to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
To undertake improvement work, maintenance and repairs of electrical and non-complex mechanical plant, services and physical assets including testing and routine fault finding.
• The responsibilities will be at the Acute PFI Hospital.
• To undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services to the NHS Trust.
• To carry out all works in compliance with EQUANS’s KPI’s and contract.

Impact:
This position has an important role within the workflow process; the person will be actively involved in developing detailed knowledge, and the maintenance of the core plant and equipment in the Acute PFI Hospital Building.

Complexity:
• Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision.
• Set up New Work appropriate to his/her own trade using relevant tools, equipment and machinery, without supervision, as appropriate to his/her grade.
• After appropriate training, work off tower scaffolding, MEWP’s, ladders, and step ladders and within confined spaces.
• To carry out unsupervised maintenance and repairs and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Supervisor.
• Requirement to learn new techniques with training as necessary.
• Scope of work will include entering departments containing service users undergoing various treatments/procedures after reporting to departmental staff. Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances could be encountered.
• To understand the general working of the EQUANS Estate, so that work can be carried out in the most efficient manner, pro-active in developing new ways of working.
• To understand fully the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts and support other trades as required.
• To be contacted by radio and/or PDA to receive instructions. This can involve frequent disruption to work patterns.
• To be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations and all safety rules both EQUANS and Statutory.
• Produce, if necessary, list of materials to carry out remedial repairs or alterations to current task.
• Ensure all PPM and Reactive work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions and response and repair times.
• To record information as required for the operation of Maximo or similar system.
• To understand the working of electrical and non-complex mechanical systems within the EQUANS Estate.
• Diagnose and repair faults in engineering installations, plant and equipment. To deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others. To inform immediate Supervisors of any delays or difficulties encountered.
• To undertake any other duties as requested by Management, in order to comply with EQUANS’s contract and KPI’s
• Staff will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skill. They will however progressively be suitably trained to acquire elements of extra skills with the intention of reaching levels of flexibility and competence to enable them to achieve and apply the ability where required to perform the above. Pass knowledge gained to others.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
• Electrical Installation – Approved apprenticeship with either:
o City & Guild 236 Part 1, 2 & 3 Parts A, B, C or
o City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1, 2, 3 or
o City & Guilds 2330 Level 2, Level 3, (Level 4 – desirable) or
o City & Guilds 2560 (2357) – Diploma
• 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 – 2018 Amendment)
• HTM-06-(02)(03) Competent Person for LV
• Experience of working in a healthcare environment

Fabric Engineer

Equans is recruiting for a Fabric Engineer in a mobile capacity on the HMCTS contract based from Telford covering various site across the Midlands. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
 

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. Activities will include:

  • Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
  • Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
  • Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
  • Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
  • Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
  • Escorting contractors

Mechanical Building Services Shift Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Shift Building Services Engineer to join our team providing facilities maintenance at Unviersity Hospital Lewisham in Ladywell. This is a permanent full-time shift position working 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week from 7am-7pm, days only.

The role:

  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • To provide technical engineering support for Hard FM Services and carry out preventative maintenance to deadlines plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
  • To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
  • To manage Contractors as necessary
  • Working 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week from 7am-7pm, days only.

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; plumbing experience essential
  • Experience in building services is required
  • Competent Person L8 experience; Asbestos Awareness; Fire Alarm Testing knowledge is desirable
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training and qualify as an Authorised Person as required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; IT Literate
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, formal training an advantage
