CAD Operator
Equans is looking for an CAD Operator to join our team in Stoke on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Auto CAD Operator performs a variety of design/drafting/space planning, room moves and lighting configurations activities group including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for CAD data management, and managing workload distribution within the CAD department. Ideally also experienced in Bolster although training will be given.
What will you deliver?
- Survey and update existing ‘as built’ drawings
- Convert drawings to DWG format.
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with other teams to ensure consistent documentation of the projects.
- Ensure documentation is held for all aspects of the O&M manuals
- Update and maintain elecronic filing systems.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (such as drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for future reference.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of third party items. Review and modify information with supervision by the Compliance Manager/Account Director / Project and Planning Managers (both Equans and Client side).
- Establish filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.
- Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance etc.

Who are we looking for?
- Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
- Asset management experience
- Able to interpret complex sketches, notes and technical information
- Electrical qualifications to NVQ level 3 or higher.
- CAD designing experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent.

Commercial Manager
Equans is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in the North West on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Commercial Manager will provide an influential pre and post contract commercial management service to a portfolio of contracts within the Education sector. The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including those client representatives; Equans operational teams running the contracts and other colleagues who provide functional support to the contracts (e.g., risk, finance, legal and HR etc.). Furthermore, they will have direct line management for the Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM) based in Liverpool.
This role will cover contracts in Manchester, Liverpool, Barnsley, Stoke and Preston
What will you deliver?
- Identifying, monitoring, and reporting on risks.
- Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).
- Management of jeopardy management process.
- Management of variation/change control.
- Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information.
- Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being complied with.
- Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other Equans colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.).
- Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation.

Who are we looking for?
- Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector (FM/PFI) ideally ‘education’

Compliance Manager

Key Activities:
- Reporting to the Contract Manager / Contract Director
- To ensure a standardised approach to the provision and recording of FM operational services and be responsible for the effective management and governance of Hard FM Services compliance within the building environments, inclusive of statutory PPM performance, compliance document management and control, adherence to internal directives and any associated business accreditations.
- To ensure that the site complies with all H&S management and compliance
- Responsible for delivering safety management in line with SHEQ policies ensuring company returns are reported within timelines; representing the contracts in the client Health and Safety meetings.
- As a part of the operational team, to implement, manage & maintain the necessary compliance tracking tool to ensure adherence to statutory engineering, SLA performance, and Business accreditations and continuity plans in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Proactively plan and manage the PPM activity across the contract ensuring that all client contractors are in place to complete the required PPM activities when due throughout the calendar year and that they are suitably inducted and supervised when on site in line with the client / site operational procedures.
- Provide accurate and regular updates/reports on compliance status to the portfolio's senior management team; ensure the accuracy of all Compliance Trackers and provide regular status updates on non-complaint issues.
- Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday

- Must have prior management experience and technical qualifications to C&G / NVQ and relevant industry Health & Safety qualifications

The role:
- Reporting to the Lifecycle & Legacy Manager
- Manage the delivery of small works and the repair or replacement of the Mechanical & Electrical assets, building fabric infrastructure, furniture, fixtures and equipment inclusive of certain medical devices.
- Ensure that all small works enquiries are effectively quoted and actioned in accordance with the schedule of rates.
- Obtain quotations and delivery programmes from the supply chain and where appropriate ensure internal costs are included in the final proposal
- Prepare and obtain approval for the work submissions to support the programme
- Ensure that subcontracts/purchase orders are generated and issued prior to commencement of work
- Management of the supply chain to ensure works are delivered to time, quality and cost.
- Ensure the asset register, asset database (CAFM) and record drawings are updated
- Support the contract finance team with their preparation of the monthly accounts
- Working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday
The person:
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of project management / administration is essential
- Essential to have good numerical and written skills
- Must have a strong understanding of I.T. systems; desirable to have knowledge of Maximo

Industrial Safety Manager
Equans is looking for an Industrial Safety Manager to join our team at Sizewell on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
The role holder will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Safety strategy in line with the objectives and direction of the UKBU
What will you deliver?
- Interpret the strategy in promotion of the Equans/EDF Industrial Safety, environment and quality model at an individual Station and within the wider Unitary EDF Safety framework, so that physical and emotional wellbeing is our most critical priority.
- Work closely with the Industrial Safety Director and the Site Leadership Team outputs to contribute to development of a plan and strategy to improve safety performance and manage high potential risks related to the site.
- Responsibility for the collation of monthly reports and policy/guidance/operating procedure development to support operational delivery of all health and safety programmes.
- Ensure that the site under their responsibility operate to the highest standards of health and safety management through being responsible for the delivery of the BU SAFETY strategy and through engagement at all levels to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of a positive SAFETY culture.
- Support RCA incident investigations: Ensuring sites are supported in the prompt closure of all actions related to these incidents.
- Subject matter expert in key areas of Safety compliance for the contract, owning the procedure and associated documents for the area of expertise and enabling the operations team to have embedded SME’s

Lifecycle Project Manager
Equans is looking for an Lifecycle Project Manager to join our team in Sheffield on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Create all required tender specifications for required refurbishment and defect works at site – encompassing building fabric, fixtures, fittings and furniture.
- Engage with the supply chain and the University to identify products & finishes that meet both contractual obligations and client expectations.
- Liaise with the Technical Services Manager to scope & specify all required Mechanical & Electrical lifecycle works across the accommodation units
- Liaise with the local maintenance teams to identify failure trends and unforeseen lifecycle requirements.
- Work with the Account Manager to shape and develop the long-term Lifecycle plan (minimum 5 years).
- Oversee the administration of Lifecycle budgets, forecasts, expenditure and purchasing through the Coupa procurement system.
- Plan / Schedule all works and requirements, ensuring all scheduled activities are agreed with the University and other stakeholders
- Continually review all possible routes to delivery of works, ensuring best value and maximum budget reach for EQUANS.
- Manage and programme all works for the in-house team of lifecycle craftsmen.
- Manage the in-house team of lifecycle craftsmen.
- Work with the central procurement teams to identify suitable suppliers of products, materials and works packages as necessary, inclusive of inducting new suppliers to the site.

Life Cycle Project Manager
Equans is looking for a Lifecycle Project Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a fixed term contract for 24 months. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
This role is fundamental to the delivery of all projects and lifecycle works on behalf of Equans and the Client. Meeting the Clients needs and ensuring works are delivered within budget and on time is paramount and the post holder needs to reflect this in the day-day operations. All projects must ensure a favourable financial return.
As part of the Project Management team you will take full accountability for the delivery of Variations and Life Cycle projects across the PFI site. As part of this you will be expected to take manage the P&L and H&S for your projects from concept to completion with the support from the Lead PM and Head of Projects. Your role will be fundamental to the efficient delivery of projects to both the SPV and Trust who you will build relationships with as part of your role. You will be expected to work well with the remainder of the team and support the wider Operational team to support the business in its Contractual delivery.
We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the team at the Hospital. The individual will be able to demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to a changing workload and business imperatives while able to establish excellent working relationships within the existing team and clients alike. Experience within a contractual, KPI-driven environment and exposure to a hospital PFI environment a pre-requisite.
The ideal candidate will have an M&E or construction background and previous experience of end to end project management, being responsible for development through to completion.
What will you deliver?
- Full Profit & Loss responsibility for your delivered projects & life cycle works
- Build and sustain strong relationship with relevant stakeholders (Trust / SPV) at management level to ensure the continuation and growth of the pipeline for the foreseeable future
- Support the wider Project, Life cycle and operational teams to ensure all work is carried out on time & to budget
- Manage the team and ensure that there is continuity of service during staff absences/holidays
- Ensure on time delivery and margin optimisation is achieved for all projects
- Support all phases of the project, from initial request to close out, to meet all contractual requirements
- Support the Lead PM with processes and governance across the site which will make the contract a Centre of Excellence across the business area
- Continually refining the project delivery model to ensure the right resources and approach is deployed and optimised for each project
- Make sure project risks are identified and managed through effective mitigation measures. Manage the implementation of designated projects. Ensure the project plan is maintained from inception to completion
- Monitoring and communicating project financial performance and administration to the Lead PM so that you can review targets against budget
- Oversee and support your team to co-ordinate operatives, suppliers in a planned and controlled manner ensuring efficiency and minimising costs
- Implement and comply with Equans policies and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice within Equans Group's including regular safety inspections within the allocated business area
- Detailed discussions with Trust staff and careful planning are required to ensure that works can proceed with the minimum of disruption to building users
- Ensure as necessary, all drawings, specifications and tender documents are prepared. Must adhere to requirements to be compliant with all statutory requirements including Health and safety
- Check and comment on designs and specifications provided by consultants for larger capital projects
- Monitor working procedures and performance of suppliers with particular regard to health and safety. Liaise closely with Technical Services, and Estates Maintenance Managers to assist with monitoring and performance measurement
- Responsible for undertaking work in any other building/property/location as required

Who are we looking for?
- Proven background in FM, maintenance delivery, and the PFI environment
- A strong Project Manager, who will have a proven track record working in Healthcare and delivering projects in a live environment
- Strong Commercial awareness will be needed to manage and flow Supplier Contracts downstream.
- Ability to show understanding of Local Authority legislation, Planning Applications, Fire and Building Regulations Approvals
- High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate. A sound knowledge of standard spreadsheet packages and computerized estates and project management systems
- Must be able to work with all stakeholders and operational staff, be self-motivating, able to work on own initiative, liaise and delegate effectively with staff operating in a multi-disciplinary environment
- A sound knowledge of building and engineering services design and associated British Standards
- A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
- Financially aware and able to use Equans finance software (Coupa) to support the team in the delivery of projects
- HNC /HND or equivalent qualification in a building or engineering discipline
- Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience of Microsoft Office software essential, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Project
- Considerable experience operating in the public and/or private sector with a demonstrable track record of directly managing small works within a large and complex estate is essential

Lifecycle Manager
Equans is looking for a Lifecycle Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Lifecycle Technical Manager is a regional role covering both Birmingham Schools contracts and Dudley LIFT contract, providing both a technical lead around asset management and V1 Planning for both sites.
The post holder will provide technical support on any lifecycle works, highlighting to the local teams any relevant requirements to comply with best industry practise’s which are associated with relevant Regulations, BS standards, best industry standards such as SFG20 and HTM/HBNs guidance, this will need to be illustrated within the scope of works that the Project Manager’s create.
The role focuses heavily on quality and a requirement for continuous improvement, so will require an individual with strong self-motivational and analytical skills to help evaluate the commercial contracts, sound communication with good two-way skill set, be a problem solver by anticipating issues ahead, good leadership skills with strong motivational traits to ensure effective business relationships are established and maintained with all key stakeholders, clients, partners, end users, contractors and other third parties to deliver a first-class service.
We are looking for an individual who can bring the knowledge, expertise and experience to manage successful stakeholder relationships associated with PFI contracts and lifecycle replacement works. They will also manage, from a technical perspective any assets which relate to either the building fabric, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that are located across a portfolio of our operational sites.
What will you deliver?
- Being responsible for leading on any key technical disciplines that relate to Building infrastructure, Mechanical & Electrical systems associated with a Healthcare premises
- Proactively engage with our own internal teams and our FM suppliers to identify assets that fall short of any contractual maintenance requirements and assets that need to be replaced within the 5-year lifecycle plan
- Undertake technical reviews of all completed projects, also feeding back any associated risks with lifecycle or step in works, confirming that our projects meet the relevant fire standards, water standards, original building standards or have been correctly installed to the latest British standards or HTMs, unless we have a derogation is in place and all paperwork is filed correctly by FM supplier or the Projects Team
- Support a culture of responsive monitoring, by working closely with our third-party FM supplier, showing accountability for the management of notifications and the day-to-day lead on any step-ins, engaging constructively with other internal departments such as the Commercial or Central Lifecycle Teams
- Liaise well with the local Project Managers to ensure that the best technical route is being followed on any type of project
- Illustrate more of a holistic view when it comes to asset replacement and a focus on more sustainability options, with our like for like replacements
- Proactively monitor our FM Suppliers compliance to maintenance via their own helpdesk by leveraging best practise through national BS standards, HTM’s, and legislation or what may be required within the Project Agreement, FM Agreement and other associated contractual documentation
- Undertaking SHEQ Management Safety Visits to highlight both positive and negative Health & Safety concerns across our sites
- Carry out general maintenance audits that relate to any step ins, notifications or lifecycle replacement activity, by reviewing the quality of the associated maintenance records/ PPM plans, commissioning data etc. with a view to ensuring any gaps in specific and relevant maintenance tasks are being highlighted, whilst then considering what our commercial stance should be
- Monitor and report on the annual one year and five-year V1 budgets, with a strong focus around planning and forecasting

- In-depth knowledge and experience of relevant processes and procedures relevant to the role, including quality assurance requirements, techniques and processes

Combustion & Mechanical Operations Manager - Mobile

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Combustion & Mechanical Operations Manager to join our Mobile Maintenance Engineering team. The mobile team in London supports reactive and PPM maintenance activities across all the sites we currently operate ranging from schools, universities and hospitals to major Government buildings across Greater London and the South East. Please note this is a mobile role with travel across sites/contracts in London and surrounding areas.
The role:
- Reporting to the Contract Manager
- To manage and oversee the Gas & M&E services provided by our mobile team
- Responsible for the management and delivery of the combustion and mechanical team to ensure we provide a quality service and are recognised for engineering excellence.
- Project manage large projects which involves travelling to sites following CDM regulations
- Manage client relationships and business development, ensuring visibility on sites
- Management of subcontractors relating to gas & M&E work
- Responsible for quotations, renewal and formulation of contracts to support the growth of Equans mobile solutions, integrating into existing and new contract opportunities
- Full responsibility for ensuring reactive, PPM and project work for Gas & M&E are being completed and closed off in the time required
- Working with Contract Manager and commercial to manage budget allocation
- Working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with participation in the management call out rota
The person:
- Qualified at the appropriate level in a building services related discipline, must have understanding of CDM and a Good understanding of statutory compliance regulations
- Strong technical background inclusive of gas, HVAC
- Experience of using a CAFM system and be computer literate and able to use MS Office competently
- Must have experience managing projects up to £250k
- Strong Health & Safety background
- Must be used to being client facing with excellent communication skills
- Able to obtain DBS clearance and Met police clearance
- Full clean driving license is essential – must be willing to be mobile and to travel to sites

M&E Operations Manager
Equans is looking for an M&E Operations Manager to join our team at Barnet Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The post holder will be responsible for the Operational service performance of the site engineering, Fabric and Grounds team, ensuring the high level of service delivery required by the business and in accordance with the contract specification (PA) and all company procedures. To coordinate the site Operational teams, operational staff and subcontractors to deliver service in accordance with company procedures and ensure that activities comply with company and client protocols.
What will you deliver?
- To assume ownership of the day to day site operation, taking responsibility for the delivery of services to the highest standard, ensuring the effective management of staff, the provision of excellent customer service and compliance with contract and company requirements
- Responsible for the effective management of service delivery whilst complying to all contractual obligations
- To effectively manage the site operational team and sub-contractors in order to achieve the highest levels of service delivery whilst observing financial efficiencies
- To assist in the formulation of budgets, business plans and departmental strategies to meet the demands of service provision and build continuous improvement
- The effective management of all HR related issues for staff ensuring the close liaison with the contract’s HR Manager to ensure that all issues are dealt with in accordance with company procedures and timescales, including probationary and performance reviews, absences, disciplinary, and performance management appraisals
- To liaise with the client as required, day to day and with regular meetings as required in order to ensure any concerns are addressed professionally and satisfactorily
- To manage business supply chains efficiency in order to achieve best value for money in the procurement of goods and services
- To manage all associated subcontracted services and to ensure that subcontractors are able to carry out their duties in a safe and timely manner and that work is contractually compliant. Review all associated paperwork and oversee regular service review meetings
- To Manage PPM works process to ensure that SLA’s are met and that any remedial works is picked up via the site workflow process
- To submit quotations, estimates and tenders for additional work as required and to be responsible for the review preparation, accuracy and processing of all accounts following completion of projects/events, in accordance with company guidelines and procedures
- Responsible for overseeing the accurate completion of all necessary documentation, works records and statutory records
- To compile various contractual and operational reports as required by the Senior Operations Manager or General Manager
- To present a professional and polite image to all customers whilst maintaining and promoting good communication and developing relationships with the client, other service partners and colleagues at all levels, ensuring the delivery of consistently high standards of customer service
- To fulfil health and safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
- To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
- To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the department / service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this job description
