Water Treatment Technician - Mobile

EQUANS is looking for a Water Treatment Technician (Tier 2) to join our team based in Reading on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package. 

 

Representing EQUANS Technical Compliance Services as a Water Treatment Engineer and/or Risk Assessor to execute the self-delivery of all Water Treatment services across London, South and South East of the UK. 

Interpersonal skills will be key to gaining the trust and confidence of all Clients, effectively working with the Technical team supported by Schedulers and Contract Administrators to efficiently deliver Water Treatment Planned and remedial works utilising system tools. As this is not extensive job description you may be required to perform other duties as directed by the management. Willing to work overtime is essential.

As a Tier 2 Water Treatment Technician - You will encompass Tier 1 (Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans, Cooling Tower Clean and Disinfections, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling) and Tier 2 (Dosing of Inhibitor and Biocide, LTHW Systems Testing and Analysis)

What will you deliver? 

  • Undertake legionella risk assessments to a high standard in line with the latest version of the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 (Fourth edition) and its associated technical guidance documents of HSG274 and the British standard code of practice for Risk assessing BS8580-1 2019. 
  • Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments manually and electronically. 
  • Drawing of schematic diagrams. 
  • Provide technical support where required. 
  • Ensure that Legionella Risk Assessments paperwork and reports are completed correctly and returned within agreed KPI timescales. 
  • Assist in providing information for quotations including undertaking site surveys.
  • Complete work reports either via a day works sheet or Planon in a timely manner.
  • First point for customers on site.
  • Attend client meetings as and when required.
  • Liaise with procurement for material purchases using preferred supplier’s list. 
  • Ensure purchases made on the purchase card are recorded with receipts promptly.
  • Ensure expenses are submitted for timely payment.
  • Ensure timesheets are submitted on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure full cooperation and coordination with Helpdesk team.
  • Be available for out of hours work as required.
  • Be able to cover sites during absence as directed by Technical Manager. 
  • Carryout remedial works in response to quoted works.
  • Carry out PPM service visits using appropriate tools and systems.
  • Ensure all site L8 logbooks where acting as the Primary Technician are in date and accurate HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality and Environment).
  • Comply with reasonable requests for information from SHEQ manager.
  • Ensure all PPE is worn.
  • Ensure works are completed in line with Company RAMs.
  • Maintain professional and courteous conduct at all times with colleagues, peers and stakeholders/clients.

Who are we looking for? 

 

  • City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent qualification relevant to the appropriate Tier grading under job specific.
  • At least 1 year’s post qualification experience.
  • Up to date knowledge of technical regulations including Water Supply Regulations/Byelaws, L8 ACOP. HSG274 and any other relevant guidance.

Senior Technical Assurance Manager & AE Mechanical

  • Ensure compliance standards and documentation are understood and implemented by the contract engineering/compliance teams
  • Provide advice to strategic leaders and Subject Matter Expert support in Mechanical and Legionella Control disciplines, to the Divisions Operational teams regarding all aspects of general Compliance.

Technical Services Manager

Equans is looking for a Technical Services Manager to join our team in  at Oldham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.

Based at Oldham School – Newman RC the TSM will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the contracts for both Rochdale and Oldham PFI Schools.

What will you deliver?

  • Planning and implementation of change to improve service and operational quality and customer satisfaction.
  • To ensure customer focused service delivery, contractual and procedural compliance across the PFI contracts with regards to the following aspects of the Contract:
  • Ensure the provision and maintenance of a high level of Mechanical / Electrical / Support to our Clients.
  • Ensure up to date accurate asset management and support to the Life Cycle Manager in complying with the contract life cycle requirements.
  • Manage a team of engineering staff in order to maintain the school contract to contractual and acceptable standard.

  • Management of Reactive works and PPM to ensure contractual timescales are met.

  • Manage the organisation of Statutory Inspections to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
  • Completion of Health and Safety audits in line with agreed programme including follow up action and reporting.
  • Staff management including monitoring, induction and actions where necessary.

  • Ensure records are maintained, up to date and available via Contract Network Drive or similar.

We are looking for an individual who can lead a team of Service Co-ordinators within the Helpdesk function with responsibility for supporting operational teams to deliver maintenance services.  Reporting into the Regional Helpdesk Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the end-to-end management and performance of the Helpdesk. Driving performance across all aspects of the function leading initiatives to create above target performance and positive financial impact to the contract. A proactive attitude will be required with enthusiasm to see positive outcomes from start to finish; persistence and resilience is key.

The Helpdesk Performance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the facilities management services within the Helpdesk. Responsible for the effective delivery of services including but not limited to the logging/dispatch/chasing of jobs logged. End to end administration of work including contact with 3rd party suppliers, management of paperwork and closing of jobs within the CAFM system.  This role involves leading a team of 4 Team Leaders and 60 service co-ordinators focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs), fostering positive behaviours, and ensuring high performance across the team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of managing high volume workflow in a helpdesk environment is essential with an awareness of commercial and financial impact is required including understanding the wider impact KPI/ SLA achievements has on the contract. Have a keen eye for detail and inquisitive nature is required with the ability to analyse vast amounts of data, (including reviewing new works orders, margin analysis and providing robust job analysis). The individual should be comfortable asking for information and asking questions to understand the areas where improvements can be made. The successful candidate would implement any changes needed at pace and be able to measure and report on improvements across multiple stake holders.

What will you deliver?

  • Operational Management of the Helpdesk managing a team of 70 FTE
  • lead, mentor and support the Team fostering positive and collaborative working environment
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance against KPI’s to ensure targets are met or exceeded, implement performance plans where necessary to address any performance issues
  • Collate detailed management reports for operational teams utilising the CAFM system
  • Regularly review and analyse KPI data and identify trends issues and opportunities for improvement, provide regular report to senior management providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Work with the Customer Experience manager to ensure high levels of Customer Experience through effective service delivery and prompt issue resolution, act as a point of escalation for major customer issues ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Ensure all operations comply with industry standards and company policies, ensure a quality assurance framework is in place to maintain high standards of service delivery and conduct regular audits

Control of Works Manager

Equans is looking for a Control of Works Manager to join our team in Oxford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £54,000, dependent upon skills and experience, and benefits package.

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of HSSE Arrangements for Control of Works, including the management, implementation and ongoing support of the quality, health safety and management systems. To manage reactive and planned maintenance. To manage minor works projects reactive and PPMs.

We are looking for an individual with previous Facilities Management experience, a Mechanical or Electrical bias and strong Stakeholder Management skills.

What will you deliver?

  • Review of task Risk Assessments, Method Statements, competencies and task programmes to ensure appropriate controls and Safe Systems of Work are in place for all tasks conducted by contractors and non-routine tasks/ projects carried out by resident teams
  • Supervise the Grounds, Fabric and M&E engineering team
  • Deliver Control of Works Health & Safety inductions for all non-resident contractors carrying out works
  • Conduct Assurance checks and site inspections of active work to ensure compliance with agreed Safe Systems of Work and existing controls are effective
  • Administration of the UWL estate Permit to Work, Site Work Authorisation and LOTO procedures
  • Maintain high visibility of the Control of Work processes and activities through engaging verbal and written communications relevant to the process and operational impacts
  • Ensure incidents are recorded and investigated through the Equans and client web-based system and that hazards are captured through the HSSE local reporting system and ensure effective closure of actions
  • Monthly reporting of Control of Works KPIs and safety statistics
  • Conduct assurance checks on tasks in progress to evaluate contractor compliance with approved Safe Systems of Work
  • Support operations managers, Authorised Persons for Permits to Work and service providers with training and toolbox talks relevant to the Control of Works arrangements
  • Participation in the Duty Manager rota. Inclusion to call out rota to assist constant high-level service to client required
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the FM and client’s organisations
  • Ensure that the appropriate record keeping processes are maintained to demonstrate compliance with contract deliverables and company procedures
  • Ensure all COSHH, Risk assessment for site are reviewed and current
  • The overall management of any small works, which may be as a result of remedial actions from PPM’s/reactives or as separately instructed by the Client
  • To liaise with the client and sub-contractors and on-site team and attending meetings when required
  • To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy, Health & Safety Management Plans and safe site
  • To comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans and Procedures
  • To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service

  • A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction Design and Management Regulations and other relevant statutory requirements will be required
  • Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of technical and estates and building issues in the provision of construction, maintenance and FM services
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate at all levels

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Level 2 & 3
  • City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Level 2 & 3
  • City & Guilds Plumbing Level 2 & 3
  • Relevant City & Guilds Mechanical qualifications

Or

  • Electrical Installation – Approved apprenticeship with either:
    • City & Guild 236 Part 1, 2 & 3 Parts A, B, C or
  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1, 2, 3 or
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 2, Level 3, (Level 4 – desirable) or
  • City & Guilds 2560 (2357) – Diploma
  • 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 – 2018 Amendment)
  • City & Guilds 2394 Testing & Inspection Certification
  • City & Guilds 2395 Testing & Inspection Certification
