EQUANS are recruiting for a Groundworker to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £27,560, plus a van & fuel card and benefits package.

General Overview

  • To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Groundworker to the standards set out by the contract. 
  • To carry out the duties as a Groundworker in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. 
  • To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements. 
  • To ensure you complete the full sequence of events on PDA and the completion of jobs for invoicing.
  • Efficient use of the Impact system.
  • To adhere to the Client contract KPI’s and, target dates and timeframes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide a high quality service to NIHE tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
  • To undertake all elements of a Groundworker, and where required undertake roof work.
  • Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
  • To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
  • To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
  • To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
  • Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
  • Compliance with specification and SOR codes
  • Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
  • Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
  • Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
  • Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
  • Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
  • Maintain and care for all company tools
  • To use appropriate safety equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
  • To ensure areas of work are left clean, tidy and safe at all times
  • To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy
  • Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc
  • Be responsible for your own safety and all other around you
  • Make every effort to attend mandatory courses relevant to your role
  • Material co-ordination and organisation
  • Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site based documentation
  • To oversee/assist in the training of apprentices as required
  • Any other reasonable management request
  • Within your salary includes payment for small hand tools essential for carrying out the duties of a Roofer, please ensure these are fit for purpose and in line with H&S requirements.

  • The role involves the Installation and deinstallation of National Lottery equipment across the UK and Ireland at Circa 44,000 retailers.

  • Ensure that when unloading old kit, you store it safely & correctly for the driver to collect.
  • Ensure safe manual handling is adhered to.
  • Excellent service delivery is needed at all Retailers.

  • Ensure that any issues/ faults or defects are swiftly reported.

Maintenance Assistant

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team working on our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles police station and covering various police stations across Greater Manchester as required. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota.

Key activities:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager
  • To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by Maintenance Manager, in line with requests sent via PDA/mobile devices
  • To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns and ensure all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner
  • To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the estate
  • Responsible for ensuring cleaning materials and chemicals are available at all sites
  • Required to attend training programmes as necessary to meet contract requirements and for self-development purposes.
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota (1 in 5 which includes weekends).

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Experience in a maintenance role and of PPM completion is desirable
  • Good customer care and people skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or unsupervised 
  • Basic fabric handyperson skills
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester

Fabric Operative

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fabric Operative to join our facilities team at North Middlesex University Hospital in Edmonton.  This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly.


The role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Undertake or oversee all fabric works and elements of statutory compliance
  • Carry out all fabric duties such as carpentry, painting & decorating, replacing ceiling tiles and laying carpet tiles
  • To undertake PPM and reactive works to ensure that all jobs are completed
  • To immediately report any potentially dangerous situations
  • To order materials and services using ordering system and to update records and job sheets to certify satisfactory delivery/completion
  • Carry out and record all required compliance checks such as Water Hygiene checks in accordance with ACOP L8 and Fire Door checks in accordance with BM TRADA and others
  • To oversee specialist sub-contractors by escorting round the building and monitoring work
  • Working 40 hours per week, from 8am to 5pm / 10am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly.


The person:

  • Must hold a Fabric or Carpentry qualification to minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and be able to carry out general fabric repairs (doors and panels)
  • Will possess varied fabric skills, including fire doors checks/repairs, door panels/fire stopping repairs and shower accessory replacements
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable
  • Essential to have an understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety
  • Understanding of the Maximo CAFM system is desirable
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team; proactive, flexible, can-do attitude

M&E Maintenance Team Leader

We have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Maintenance Team Leader to join our facilities team working on our Greater Manchester Police maintenance contract at Eccles police station and covering various police stations across Greater Manchester as required. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, plus participation in the on call rota.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Hard Services Manager
  • To carry out maintenance duties as instructed to the highest
    standards according to contract specifications
  • To establish and maintain good working relationships
  • To manage all first line interaction with the Hard Services Team in a formal and informal capacity
  • To coach and develop employees to ensure all are trained effectively in process and procedure
  • To schedule and assign duties to employees, and ensure the highest quality of work is achieved
  • To manage employee holidays to ensure effective coverage at all times
  • Ensure SLA compliance with works raised and carried out
  • Carry out regular health and safety checks across all sites within the contract
  • To provide additional support and cover in work as and when required
  • Working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch break plus participation in the on call rota

The person:

  • Experience in a similar multi-sited role 
  • Must have a full valid UK driving licence due to requirement to travel between sites across Greater Manchester
  • Relevant general maintenance experience essential and of supervising staff across
    various locations
  • Must be able to pass relevant vetting levels for the client in question

Equans is looking for a Floor-layer to join our team in Birmingham, West Midlands on a permanent basis. General Overview

The Floor-layer is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various types of flooring within tenanted properties. This role involves preparing surfaces, laying flooring materials, and ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications and industry standards. The Floor-layer must work efficiently, paying close attention to detail, and adhering to all safety regulations. 

What will you deliver?

  • Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and smoothing surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of flooring materials.
  • Install a variety of flooring materials, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, and tile. 
  • Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas, ensuring precise and accurate installation. 
  • Apply adhesives, grouts, and other necessary substances to secure flooring materials.
  • Repair and replace damaged sections of flooring, matching existing materials and finishes. 
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure the flooring is installed correctly, meets quality standards, and aligns with client expectations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

EQUANS is recruiting for a Painter to be based in EDF Sizewell IP16 4UR. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Shift times:

Monday to Thursday 08.00 till 16.30 and Friday 08.00 till 14.00

Please note this role includes CTC clearance, therefore, ability to pass is essential 

What will you deliver?

To carry out the preparation and coating of steel structures, pipework, concrete floors & walls and a variety of other industrial environments. Duties will include:

• Work closely with other painters and supervisors.
• Work with hand tools and powered mechanical tools such as needle guns, bristle blasters, sanders etc.
• Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties.
• Read and understand processes and safety procedures.
• Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are handled accurately and in time therefore ensuring we deliver a high standard of work to the business and client.
