Mobile Technical Operative - Electrical

Equans is looking for a Multiskilled Mobile Technical Operative to join our team at Norwich Combined Court on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week for our HMCTS contract. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:  
Equans provide technical and soft services to our client HMCTS across a large portfolio of buildings across the UK.  As part of the service, we provide low voltage electrical maintenance and installation services, and because of business growth, we are recruiting for additional roles to provide these services for our customer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures. Activities will include:
•Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM. 
•Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. 
•Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
•Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
•To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
•Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
•Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
•To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
•Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
•Ensure up to date plant logs are kept at all times.
•Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
•Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
•Ensure CAFM system, e.g. PlanOn, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
•To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
•To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
•The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.
•To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP/LVAP/HVAP and to issue PTW to Subcontractors and Equans staff
•Ensure both self-delivered and subcontracted maintenance, testing and inspection activities are in compliance with the latest version of BS7671, ensuring that all remedials are carried out

Impact:  
Working to high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable and competent Electrician who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing high quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of Equans so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.

Complexity:  
The successful candidate will have the ability to fault find and diagnose and rectify complex Electrical faults and issues unaided. Have an excellent knowledge of Electrical systems, which will enable the development of switching schedules and Safety Documentation prior to shutdowns. To plan and oversee electrical shutdowns to permit maintenance or testing.

Qualifications or Required Experience:  
Suitable experience working in a similar high demanding role. 
Essential:
•Full Clean UK Driving License 
•NVQ level 3 in Electrical or equivalent such as City & Guilds Technical Certificate in Electrical.
•18th Edition IET Wiring regulations 
Desired but not essential:
•IPAF 
•PLASMA

Electrician

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Lincoln on a permanent basis.

This is a full time role to carry out repairs and maintenance work to the homes and properties repaired and maintained by the Company in a multi-skilled environment whilst achieving high standards of customer care and satisfaction.

  • Carry out all types of repairs and maintenance work in a multi-skilled environment allied to the Electrical trade discipline

Equans is looking for a Multi Skilled Plumber to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.

Maintenance Operative

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our Facilities team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours p/week from 8am to 5pm.


The role:

  • Reporting to the Project Interface Manager
  • To deliver fabric and painting planned and reactive maintenance and life cycle works
  • To work within a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
  • To undertake Competent Person duties for the disciplines for which you have been appointed
  • To cover for other colleagues as required
  • To carry out overtime as required
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00


The person:

  • Experience working in a multi-skilled maintenance environment with handyperson and basic carpentry, fabric repair and painting skills
  • Experience working alongside trade operatives from electrical / mechanical disciplines in a health care environment is desirable
  • An NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in plumbing or a related field is desirable with knowledge of water hygiene
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate, and ambition for personal development
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.

Painter

EQUANS is recruiting for a Painter to be based in EDF Sizewell IP16 4UR. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

EQUANS are recruiting for a Multi Trade Carpenter to be based in College Road, Kingstanding, to work on repairs and maintenance contract for Birmingham City Council properties throughout Birmingham. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Mobile Technical Operative - Electrical

Equans is looking for a Mobile Technical Operative (Electrical) to join our team in Newcastle for our HMCTS contract on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Electrical Buildings Services Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.
-Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM. 
-Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. 
-Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
-Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
-Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
-Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
-To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
-Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
-Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
-Ensure up to date plant logs are kept at all times
-Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
-Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
-To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
-To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
-Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
-Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
-Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Maximo, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
-To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
-To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
-The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

Client/Customer
•Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
•Coordinate quotations with the contract manager 
•Production of information for quotations
 
Helpdesk - PPM 
•Support the Helpdesk as required when reporting or updating planned and reactive maintenance
•Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract

Compliance 
•To gain Technical Appointments as required e.g. LVCP/LVAP/HVAP and to issue PTW to Subcontractors and Equans staff
•Ensure both self-delivered and subcontracted maintenance, testing and inspection activities are in compliance with the latest version of BS7671, ensuring that all remedials are carried out 
•Produce Condition / Dilapidation Reports as required
•Ensure supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur

SHEQ
•Comply with requests for information from SHEQ manager
•Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
•Ensue PPE is safe to use
•Report accident and near misses in a timely manner
•Ensure your test equipment is within calibration 
•Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works

Impact:    
•Delivery of all specialist engineering services activities obligations under the Contract. 
•Plan, deliver and review all aspects relating to the provision of specialist engineering services carried out by internal engineering staff and subcontractors. 
•Implement operational policies and procedures in line with our contractual obligations. 
•Liaise with all Equans Engineers to ensure effective service delivery. 
•Support the Regional Tech Manager in the response to customer complaints in line with the Company’s Complaint Procedures. 
•Ensure that all specialist equipment /stores are held in safe and secure manner  
•Manage day to day running of the day and/or shift team. 
•Act as the first point of contact for all site HR issues. 

Complexity:  
•In general, the role will be required to complete the following (but not limited to):
•Fault finding, minor repairs and installation alongside general maintenance services.
•Ensure that specialist subcontractor service visits are completed efficiently, and quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated to the management team
•Support other engineers and operatives in the region as and when required and liaise with other members of direct and indirect staff to carry out duties effectively and with minimal disruption
•While the role will be electrical biased, as the contracts plumber lead, there will be a need to join in with the wider team and undertake all spectrum of FM maintenance activities when required.
•Assist in the preparation of company reports, work sheets and support service level agreements and procedures as required
•Carry out duties within company safety policy and advise line manager of all situations which could affect the safety of people or property.
•You will need to have excellent communication skills at all levels, be happy to work unsupervised when needed and competent in the completion of statutory paperwork and documentation. 
•Helpdesk support is provided together via smart phone technology, with all specialist tool and equipment.

•Ensure any risks, near misses, and incidents are reported to the management / SHEQ team immediately
•To risk assess each job upon arrival on a site-specific basis for your own and others safety

Qualifications or Required Experience:
•Desired Circa 5 years relevant experience working as an Electrician in an FM environment.
•City and Guilds -Electrical Engineering Services  NVQ Level 2 or higher.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff
•Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation
•Have good IT and report writing skills
•Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.
•A high level of initiative, with drive to continuously improve the operation
•Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs & expectations
•Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions
•Enthusiasm and demonstration of pro-activity, diligence and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate internal training programmes
•Integrity, honesty, and punctuality is a must Current and Valid Full & Clean UK driving license

Mobile M&E Supervisor

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Maintenance Supervisor to join our facilities management team working on our Metropolitan Police contract based at Lewisham police station and covering two other police sites at Sutton and Bromley.  This is a permanent full-time mobile role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700.

The role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • To oversee/manage PPM and Reactive maintenance duties to assets on the contract either with direct labour or subcontractors for the Hard FM services working across Metropolitan Police South East London and Gravesend sites
  • To supervise staff and contractors to ensure that the Mechanical and Electrical elements of the contract are delivered.  This will include input to the CAFM system (Maximo) and KPI monitoring
  • To make recommendations of replacement parts and materials in order to ensure the highest levels of equipment and building availability
  • To ensure that work is carried out to the highest standards and that all statutory legislation is complied with.
  • To develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required. To undertake a proactive approach in ensuring all plant and equipment is fully operational to maintain operational efficiency.
  • To be trained and appointed in at least 2 x AP/RP roles and attend training as necessary to maintain the roles
  • Working 40 hours per week from 0800 to 1700, Monday to Friday, plus participation in the on call rota and out of hours activity

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Experience of building maintenance essential
  • Good organisational skills, able to prioritise workload
  • Good communication skills together with a first class customer service ethic
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement to solve problems
  • Must hold valid full UK driving license
  • Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting

EQUANS are recruiting for a Paint Chargehand to be based in EDF Sizewell IP16 4UR. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
