We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Combustion & Mechanical Operations Manager to join our Mobile Maintenance Engineering team. The mobile team in London supports reactive and PPM maintenance activities across all the sites we currently operate ranging from schools, universities and hospitals to major Government buildings across Greater London and the South East. Please note this is a mobile role with travel across sites/contracts in London and surrounding areas.
The role:
- Reporting to the Contract Manager
- To manage and oversee the Gas & M&E services provided by our mobile team
- Responsible for the management and delivery of the combustion and mechanical team to ensure we provide a quality service and are recognised for engineering excellence.
- Project manage large projects which involves travelling to sites following CDM regulations
- Manage client relationships and business development, ensuring visibility on sites
- Management of subcontractors relating to gas & M&E work
- Responsible for quotations, renewal and formulation of contracts to support the growth of Equans mobile solutions, integrating into existing and new contract opportunities
- Full responsibility for ensuring reactive, PPM and project work for Gas & M&E are being completed and closed off in the time required
- Working with Contract Manager and commercial to manage budget allocation
- Working 40 hours per week, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with participation in the management call out rota
The person:
- Qualified at the appropriate level in a building services related discipline, must have understanding of CDM and a Good understanding of statutory compliance regulations
- Strong technical background inclusive of gas, HVAC
- Experience of using a CAFM system and be computer literate and able to use MS Office competently
- Must have experience managing projects up to £250k
- Strong Health & Safety background
- Must be used to being client facing with excellent communication skills
- Able to obtain DBS clearance and Met police clearance
- Full clean driving license is essential – must be willing to be mobile and to travel to sites

Assistant Safety Fire Coordinator
EQUANS is looking for an Assistant Safety Fire Coordinator to join our team based at Torness Nuclear Power Station on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
You will support the delivery of a professional and efficient health and safety administrative service within the Professional Services Team in line with the organisation’s goals and values, reporting to the Fire Safety Co-Ordinator.

What will you deliver?
- Assist in promoting good fire safety practices and the day-to-day management of the fire safety role on-site.

- Provide suitable fire safety guidance and information for site and keep abreast of any changes to relevant fire safety legislation and guidance.

- Update of Fire Safety documentation – PIOI's, check sheets and independent verification forms.
- Implementation and ongoing monitoring of Fire Extinguisher controls and laydown records.

Fire Extinguisher testing and management - Carrying out independent verification checks for Hot Work where required.

Lifecycle Manager
Equans is looking for a Lifecycle Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Lifecycle Technical Manager is a regional role covering both Birmingham Schools contracts and Dudley LIFT contract, providing both a technical lead around asset management and V1 Planning for both sites.
The post holder will provide technical support on any lifecycle works, highlighting to the local teams any relevant requirements to comply with best industry practise’s which are associated with relevant Regulations, BS standards, best industry standards such as SFG20 and HTM/HBNs guidance, this will need to be illustrated within the scope of works that the Project Manager’s create.
The role focuses heavily on quality and a requirement for continuous improvement, so will require an individual with strong self-motivational and analytical skills to help evaluate the commercial contracts, sound communication with good two-way skill set, be a problem solver by anticipating issues ahead, good leadership skills with strong motivational traits to ensure effective business relationships are established and maintained with all key stakeholders, clients, partners, end users, contractors and other third parties to deliver a first-class service.
We are looking for an individual who can bring the knowledge, expertise and experience to manage successful stakeholder relationships associated with PFI contracts and lifecycle replacement works. They will also manage, from a technical perspective any assets which relate to either the building fabric, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems that are located across a portfolio of our operational sites.
What will you deliver?
- Being responsible for leading on any key technical disciplines that relate to Building infrastructure, Mechanical & Electrical systems associated with a Healthcare premises
- Proactively engage with our own internal teams and our FM suppliers to identify assets that fall short of any contractual maintenance requirements and assets that need to be replaced within the 5-year lifecycle plan
- Undertake technical reviews of all completed projects, also feeding back any associated risks with lifecycle or step in works, confirming that our projects meet the relevant fire standards, water standards, original building standards or have been correctly installed to the latest British standards or HTMs, unless we have a derogation is in place and all paperwork is filed correctly by FM supplier or the Projects Team
- Support a culture of responsive monitoring, by working closely with our third-party FM supplier, showing accountability for the management of notifications and the day-to-day lead on any step-ins, engaging constructively with other internal departments such as the Commercial or Central Lifecycle Teams
- Liaise well with the local Project Managers to ensure that the best technical route is being followed on any type of project
- Illustrate more of a holistic view when it comes to asset replacement and a focus on more sustainability options, with our like for like replacements
- Proactively monitor our FM Suppliers compliance to maintenance via their own helpdesk by leveraging best practise through national BS standards, HTM’s, and legislation or what may be required within the Project Agreement, FM Agreement and other associated contractual documentation
- Undertaking SHEQ Management Safety Visits to highlight both positive and negative Health & Safety concerns across our sites
- Carry out general maintenance audits that relate to any step ins, notifications or lifecycle replacement activity, by reviewing the quality of the associated maintenance records/ PPM plans, commissioning data etc. with a view to ensuring any gaps in specific and relevant maintenance tasks are being highlighted, whilst then considering what our commercial stance should be
- Monitor and report on the annual one year and five-year V1 budgets, with a strong focus around planning and forecasting

The role:
- Reports to the General Manager
- Responsible for co-ordination of data for monthly performance reporting in line with contractual Performance Monitoring System for all FM services
- Build effective working relationships with the client, emphasis on customer interface requirements
- To ensure operational delivery is high quality and compliant with statutory and contractual obligations
- Responsibility for co-ordination of completion of Controls Assurance and monthly reports, including assessment and audit of associated action plans and targets
- Able to update systems with O&M and asset data

Contract Co-Ordinator
Equans is looking for a Contract Coordinator to join our team in Speke on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Act as point of contact for daily communication between PFI Contract manger, Mobile Services, BSC Helpdesk & the client/Authority.
- Undertake performance analysis regarding work order management and communicate with the key stakeholders to ensure penalty risk is minimised. This includes but is not limited to:
- Liaising with Scheduling team, Mobile Supervisor, Mobile Contract Manager, and supply chain.
- Ensuring Damage Notification process is adhered to.
- Supporting in the application of extensions where appropriate
- Publishing work order performance data and trend analysis for PFI contract Manager.
- Monitor and diarise Contractual Deliverables schedule to ensure information is collated in a timely manner to publish information by the required deadline.
- Work closely with the BSC team in the collation of the Monthly MMR reporting pack, ensuring the data is captured accurately and presented in the correct format and with the appropriate appendices. Provide to PFI contract manager for final review, exec summary and sign off.
- Perform deep dive on monthly penalty report ensuring service codes/sla’s have been categorised correctly and work with Mobile team to obtain any mitigatory evidence to minimise penalty risk.
- Support in the monthly billing process, be that through internal re-charges with Mobile or external invoicing to the client. The main element will be to build evidence packs for billing and share with the Regional Work Cost Administrator.

Head Of Estates
Equans is looking for a Head of Estates to join our team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance or company vehicle, bonus, and benefits package.
The role is based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital where EQUANS are one of three service providers. Our contract is to deliver M&E Technical Services & Maintenance, Building Fabric and Life Cycle.
The estate consists of PFI & retained buildings. WRH forms part of a trust which includes Kidderminster, Redditch & Warwick. This role is for the Worcestershire Royal Hospital only. Equans are working closely in partnership with the Trust to ensure all facilities are of a good quality, compliant and safe for our workers, our client, our patients.
The EQUANS contract dates to 2002 and runs through to 2030. The contract has entered its seven-year hand back.
The role is to assist the Senior Account Manager in the provision and deliver of a high-quality maintenance service. The role will require the holder to take an active role in the day-to-day management of the Technical Service delivery and Life Cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the M&E & Life Cycle part of the contract.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for directly managing the onsite Mechanical team, the Life Cycle Manager and the Electrical Manager
- Providing operational and technical expertise to the contract team
- Set direction and technical assurance for the effective maintenance of the estate through continuous review and modification of the Planned Preventative Maintenance program, condition reviews and asset management for mechanical, electrical, building and grounds and gardens services
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines
- Act as Authorised or Responsible Person qualified to Health Technical Memoranda (HTM) standard where directed and appointed
- Development of service-related continuous improvement initiatives, from conception to introduction
- Development and introduction of business efficiency measures to ensure a cost effective and best value approach
- Ensuring the appropriate level of AP/CP expertise is provided on the contract ensuring statutory compliance Management and delivery of FM services to satisfy service level agreements/KPI’s
- Undertake and participate in internal and external audits taking a lead in ensuring all findings are fully considered and an action plan followed to resolve issues where required
- Be able to quickly assess challenges and opportunities, offer pragmatic solutions and influence direction

Performance Manager
EQUANS is looking for a Performance Manager to join our team in Burnley on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary up to £32,000, plus company vehicle and benefits package.
Reporting to the Senior Performance Manager, you will assist with PFI Performance and Compliance of FM services on Blackburn and Lancashire schools. Ensuring that all services are provided consistently to the required standard and that they meet the specific requirements of the FM Contract, Authority Requirements and specific requirements of the school.
As a key role for the Lancashire and Blackburn Schools Contract you will ensure a high-quality customer focused service is delivered whilst ensuring compliance with business and industry standards.
What will you deliver?
- Build positive relationships with all stakeholders.
- Assist with performance and compliance of FM services across all schools.
- Management of helpdesk jobs through to closure.
- Producing monthly reports and annual service report.
- Collation of data and trend analysis.

- Carry out internal audits/management safety visits.

Commercial Manager
EQUANS is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial delivery across a portfolio of contracts, working closely with the Account Director. They will provide contract commercial management and profit improvement, risk and opportunity management along with focus on compliance. The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including external relationships with clients, suppliers and internal BU leadership and functions as well as lead commercial management resources to ensure effective and pro-active commercial management of the allocated contracts. Hold collective responsibility with Account senior management team to improve operations and deliver against financial plans.
We are looking for an individual who has extensive commercial and contracts experience and a demonstrable track record of owning and delivering pre and post contract activity. Knowledge of contract law and its application in services and construction, PFI contracts and lifecycle funds.
What will you deliver?
- Define and/or advise on commercial strategy
- Analyse and manage risk including assessing the revenue opportunity vs. cost and risk
- Manage and secure internal approvals for new bid opportunities
- Managing the commercial viability of variations
- Lead negotiations encompassing multiple disciplines including supplier negotiations and flow-downs
- Produce reports and summaries (ad hoc and regular) which articulate key matters for a senior and/or non-commercial audience
- Negotiate, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk
- Lead in all dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity
- Ensure a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts
- Deal reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner

Technical Services Manager - Electrical
Equans is looking for a Technical Services Manager (Electrical) to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
Reporting to the Head of Estates, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the maintenance services in accordance with the requirements of the Contract for the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals.
The Technical Services Manager will be an essential member of the team tasked with ensuring that the delivered facility is of a high standard both in terms of quality and functionality. The role will have a significant impact on the long-term operation and maintainability of the infrastructure, services and building fabric as well as providing a robust structure based on accurate data to enable the effective maintenance of the hospital.
What will you deliver?
- Directly accountable for managing the delivery and compliance of the day-to-day maintenance services
- Deputise for the Head of Estates during absence from site as directed by Senior Management Team
- Have a high level of technical knowledge covering complex system installed within a healthcare environment
- Ensure that all planned preventative maintenance activities are planned and scheduled in conjunction with the Planning Coordinator for buildings, plant and equipment using the Maximo system, with consideration to statute, Regulations, ACOP’s and Guidance (HTM’s)
- Lead in undertaking negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to provide a cost-effective service with reference to the contract SLA’s
- Responsible for specific elements of budgetary control and give additional assistance with financial controls with reference to departmental budget, stock, contracts etc
- To review the quality of work undertaken by both directly employed staff and contractors
- Ensure cover is provided at all times by ensuring shift rotas are adequately covered
- Responsible for the safety of plant, equipment, and infrastructure and for safe working practices
- Monitor and ensure adherence to all Statutory Standards and Regulations and Department of Health requirements providing reports and assurance to both Senior Management and the Client that all contractual requirements are being met
- Attend and chair as required Health & Safety forums with staff and the client on a regular basis
- Ensure that plant and equipment data and information is delivered in an accurate and timely manner to enable Lifecycle Planning to be developed
- Plan and assist in the production of condition surveys and subsequent action plans in a timely manner allowing milestone targets and goals to be achieved
- Responsible for the execution of any other estates and facilities related duties in an emergency/urgent situation, as directed by the Head of Estates or Senior Management Team
- Participate as a member of the Estates Team by achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in a number of disciplines as required and directed by Senior Management Team which will include High Voltage and Low Voltage and at least 2 of the following key disciplines along with any other disciplines deemed necessary
- Required to participating in the ‘on call’ rota as and when required, after suitable training and relevant experience is gained as directed by Senior Management
- Required to supervision and participating in a ‘recall to work’ procedure for emergency repairs as required when not on call
