The Senior Project Manager – Mechanical will be responsible for managing the team and the mechanical aspects of large projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.

The Role

  • Manage a team to ensure work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards.
  • Be an expert and provide guidance and direction to ensure operational excellence.
  • Coordinate and control the on-site construction process ensuring the site build progresses in line with plan.
  • Develop and agree electrical submission and approval process with the client and design team.
  • Support the overall programming and planning of the build.
  • Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports.
  • Chair and minute the subcontractor meetings.
  • Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
  • Operational support including review of procedures, best practices and initiatives.

Mechanical Chargehand

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Chargehand to join our team in Dungeness, Kent on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Technical Competences:
• Formal and recognised apprenticeship served in relevant skill area or minimum of 4 years relevant and practical experience within control and instrumentation.
• Awareness of risk assessment and working safely with electronic test equipment
• Able to service and fault find on both conventional and Bespoke installations.
• Ability to follow work instructions, read/ interpret technical diagrams and report technical information as required
• Electrical fault finding & rectification skills

Qualifications or Required Experience:
• Level 3 (NVQ) Diploma in Engineering Maintenance, or similar
• Level 3 Diploma in Installing Engineering Construction Plant and Systems - Mechanical Fitting

Mobile Combustion Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile Combustion Engineer to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

General Overview:
• Ensure all PPM’s is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work.
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager.
• Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required.
• Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system.
• Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order. In accordance with the delegated authority with the applicable contract or authorised by the client.
• Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
• Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) prior to starting work evidencing it is safe to proceed. Note any safety concerns using the AIMS system
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
• To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
• Undertake mandatory training and skill related training as required by the business.
• To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans Staff, Sub-Contractors and the Client representatives.
• Ensure the professional image of Equans is always presented to Clients
• Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
• Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
• Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
• To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (call outs). Take part in the regional on-call rota.
• There will be a requirement to work out of hours to fulfil our maintenance commitments of our customers.
• Undertake regular audits of vehicle / tools to ensure they are in safe working order, including all test equipment is in date
Any other task as directed by the contract manager

Impact:
As Equans representative and first point of contact with the Client, the importance of this role cannot be overestimated.
It is essential that all works are carried in a cost effective, timely manner, maximising revenue, where possible.

Complexity:
• Maintenance and repair of Gas/Oil Installations
• Excellent fault finding and diagnosis skills a must.
• Carry out Installation work and complete appropriate Certification
• Basic knowledge in building fabric repairs

Qualifications or Required Experience:
• A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential.
• Appropriate Combustion/Gas/Oil Qualifications essential.
• ACS Commercial and Domestic Gas Qualifications – CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1, COCN1, CORT1, CIGA1, ICPN1, CDGA1, TPCP1, COCNGLP1PD.
• Trade qualified Combustion Engineer with appropriate post apprenticeship experience desirable.
• Must have a full clean drivers’ licence.
• Legionella awareness (preferable – can provide training)
• Asbestos awareness (preferable but not essential)
• MEWP Licence (preferable but not essential)
• First aid trained (preferable but not essential)
• Computer literate
• Good communicator
• Able to deal diplomatically with the client’s demanding personnel
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Able to work as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• To always maintain a clean and smart appearance
• Physically fit
• Fluent in English both written and oral.

Highways Design Engineer

EQUANS is looking for a Highways Design Engineer to join our team in Grimsby. This is a 2 year FTC role working part time hours (18.75) per week plus overtime. On offer is a salary of £17,500 – £21,000 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Highway Engineer to join Equans Professional Services function, a multi-disciplinary design consultancy including Civil, Structures, Infrastructure and Build.

Equans is North East Lincolnshire Council’s long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a number of services on their behalf, including the Highways Design Service. We are proud of our established, successful and award winning partnership -  our team having secured a number of high profile regeneration and infrastructure projects, as well as being responsible for delivery of the Local Transport Plan for North East Lincolnshire.  This role supports the team in their delivery of a first-class service to its customers and fully contributes to delivering sustainable development and growth in North East Lincolnshire.

You will be part of the Highways Design team, dealing with a variety of infrastructure projects including highway maintenance to large capital civil and structural projects. Examples of previous projects have been a number of multi million regeneration schemes within Grimsby and Cleethorpes enhancing the public realm, and delivery of new trunk roads and industrial estate access roads to promote business development in the area.

You will join an expanding team of engineers, technicians, apprentices and site support staff.  Enthusiastic and dedicated, you will have demonstrable experience in design and management of highway projects, and the ability to work independently.

This role is funded by the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Capability Fund. The Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) mandate from Government states that all new cars will be zero emissions by 2035. Senior Shift Engineer

Equans is looking for a Senior Shift Engineer to join our team in Leeds on a permanent basis for our Leeds Oncology contract. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary (£30,500 + 15% shift allowance £4,575 = £35,075) and benefits package. 

General Overview:
• Work alongside a dynamic maintenance team to deliver the required services, ensuring the Hospital is maintained to the highest standard.
• Participate in a 4 “on” 4 “off” shift pattern which consists of 4 Days on (06:00 to 18:00), 4 Days off, 4 Nights on (18:00 to 06:00), 4 days off
• Provide a customer facing highly responsive maintenance service to the Leeds Oncology Wing
• Undertake a wide range of reactive and planned maintenance tasks and carry these out to a very high standard
• Provide technical guidance, assistance and information to other members of the maintenance team
• Carry out training to be able to provide Authorised Person duties
• Work with a high level of multi-skilling and flexibility
• Manage a small shift team consisting of Maintenance Craftsman and Maintenance Assistants.

Impact:
To assist in maintenance services EQUANS provide for the NHS Trust through a 30-year concession agreement through Leeds Oncology SPC

Complexity:
1. Lead the shift team and provide support to working colleague’s
2. Carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.
3. Participate in a rotating shift pattern in order to provide a 24/7/365 service
4. Provide cover for absent colleagues as appropriate to maintain the service
5. Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
6. Be able to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services listed below:
• Heating and domestic water services
• General Electrical services such as lighting and power
• Air handling units
• Low voltage electrical distribution system and switchgear
• Emergency standby generating plant
• Fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
• Electrical control systems
• Building Management System
7. Have an awareness of the operational procedures and safe working practices of major items of plant and systems as described above
8. Maintain records and complete service reports as appropriate. Providing regular reports on progress to your line manager
9. On occasion carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
10. Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection and installation work.
11. Undertake training to maintain and develop skills in line with the requirements of the service.
12. Act as Competent or Authorised Person as directed and appointed.
13. Liaise and undertake duties at other healthcare projects as directed.
14. Undertake overtime as required to maintain the service
15. Carry out any other duties as required commensurate with grade.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
Qualified time served engineer with minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience required, Healthcare experience desirable but not essential, Cross-trade experience advantageous.

Plumber

Equans is looking for a Plumber to join our team at the Victoria Hospital in Fife on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Deliver maintenance services for plumbing and drainage infrastructure, including TMV, Thermal Balancing Valves, Shower Head clean & disinfection, Pressure Reducing Valves, and Temperature Monitoring.

Fire Maintenance Engineer SPC

Equans is looking for a Fire Maintenance Engineer SPC to join our team on our TFL contract in London. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week on a complex shift pattern. On offer is a competitive salary, benefits package, and the opportunity for paid overtime.

 

You will be directly responsible for a number of activities with regards to the Preventative Planned Maintenance (PPM) at various locations primarily TFL Premises.  The scope may cover Fire Detection, Wet and Dry Fire Suppression, Passive Fire protection and First aid firefighting equipment.  You will ensure that all tasks are carried out to comply with relevant standards.

There will be an expectation of the successful candidate to have a good understanding of Risk Management and the ability to work autonomously to deliver successful contract outcomes.

Shift pattern-Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6am

What will you deliver?

  • Manage all Health and Safety issues onsite.
  • Deliver toolbox talks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all engineers on site are adhering to the Health and Safety Rules and are working efficiently.
  • Liaise with the H&S officers and Clients during PGI’s audits
  • Ensure all plant and equipment is in place liaising with the supervisor.
  • Ensure Denied Frustrated Access (DFA) forms are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure engineering times and data input are correct and logged to Equans PDA system correctly for all staff undertaking this activity.
  • Calibration / PAT testing of plant is maintained, and in date.
  • Identifying technical issues with the systems being worked on and carrying out corrective actions.
  • Identifying potential remedial works during PPM/reactive visits and supplying accurate scopes of work to enable quote generation.
  • Collation and submission of all evidence of works – printouts/before & after photographs/ test results & report (via handheld device).
  • Ensuring that all works are carried out in timely manner and comply with the relevant standards (BS5839pt 1 2013, BS5306 etc).
  • Identifying and correcting faults/issues with varying types of fire detection, suppression and alarm equipment installed at client’s sites.
  • Provide advice on new potential business opportunities and initiatives that may arise.
  • Identifying and recommending system/service improvements and/or or variations from BS5839 pt 1 2013, BS5306 etc) during PPM/reactive visits and supplying accurate scopes of work.
  • Ensure that all works are compliant with Method statements and SSOW.

Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators

  • Maintain use of the company’s PDA / activity capture software (Movilizer), ensuring the information gathered and uploaded is accurate and detailed at all times.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with the Health and Safety at work act 1974 maintaining a Duty of care to all who may be affected by the works being carried out and to EQUANS as the employer.
  • Maintain performance to achieve all targets set are met.
  • Adhere to Fleet standards to Ensure Company FORS accreditation is maintained, undertaking training via the dedicated FORS portal.
  • Adhere to Fleet requirements completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects to main vehicle ensuring it is road worthy.
  • Maintaining competencies and role specific certification at all times making copies available on request.
  • Scope of work is delivered to programme.
  • Ensuring quality of work delivered Is to a high standard.
  • Maximising safety when undertaking any works and ensuring company policies are followed.

Who are we looking for?

  • Extensive work on Fire Detection, Suppression, Portable assets. Both PPM & Reactive.
  • TLL Grade 1 fire accreditation (desirable, but not essential).
  • Electrician NVQ level 2 (or proof of good electrical awareness.

General Overview:
We have an opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer to work on the Media City, Manchester contract.
A Sound mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems is essential.
• Experience of working on Commercial Hot and Cold-water Systems is essential.
