Fabric Craftsperson

Equans is looking for a Fabric Craftsperson to join our team in Birmingham for our QEH contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
To support the Estates Team by providing direct assistance and undertaking routine maintenance tasks as allocated. To undertake any reasonable duties directed by Supervisor/AEM to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s). To carry out all works in compliance with EQUANS KPI’s

Impact:

This role has an important role within the workflow process; the person will be actively involved in developing detailed knowledge, and the maintenance assistance of the building fabric and equipment on the Mental Health Estate

Complexities:
• The responsibilities will mainly be at the Mental Health Sites
• To undertake any reasonable duties directed by Supervisor/AEM Hand to maintain all services to the NHS Trust(s)
• To carry out all works in compliance with EQUANS KPI’s
• A general engineering/carpentry knowledge is required.
• To undertake any allocated jobs as directed by the Supervisor, Manager and Helpdesk ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed in a satisfactory, accurate and prompt manner.
• Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out routine maintenance, repair and cleaning activity across the site.
• To integrate and communicate effectively with contractors and electrical, mechanical and building services staff. To carry out general duties including support by manual labour for relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms.

• Drive the company vehicle as required to meet the needs of the service.
• To respond promptly and efficiently to breakdowns, blockages and other building fabric requirements.

Joiner

Equans is looking for a Joiner to join our team onsite at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA on permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive per annum. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Carry out maintenance activities onsite at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
  • Carry out a variety of minor installation works as required.
  • Interpret work from drawings and instructions with minimum supervision
  • Work with and assist external contractors as required.
  • Liaise with University staff and students/occupants on a daily basis.
  • Complete all Task/Risk Assessment forms relating to work.
  • Supervise all outside contractor joinery/carpentry works/repairs on site.
  • Liaise with Contract Manager regarding plant or equipment failures and request spares/goods as necessary.
  • Assist in pricing and estimating of minor works.
  • Participate in shift working and on-call arrangements if required to by the business.
  • Be willing to work overtime if emergency repairs are necessary.
  • Be willing to undertake any training where necessary to learn new techniques as designated by Contract Manager.
  • Carry out any duties and tasks to assist colleagues as required by the Contract Manager.
  • Maintain tools and joiner workshop/storage areas/equipment areas in a correct and tidy manner.
  • Be flexible within the Facilities team assist other trades as and when required.
  • An eye for detail and quality workmanship.

Minor Works Fabric Apprentice

EQUANS is looking for a Building Fabric Apprentice to join our team in Crewe on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package. 

This role is working as a trainee fabric engineer as part of the minor works team on EQUANS Cheshire-East Council contract.

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out installation/ refurbishment and repair works on a variety of fabric assets and decoratition works ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures.

 

What will you deliver? 

  • Surface repairs – Including but not limited to Inspection/repair of floor coverings/ walls, ceilings and roofs carrying put plastering/ installation of pre-finshed wall coverings/ Joinery and roofing covering repair works.  Installation of suspended ceiling systems and adaptation thereof.
  • Inspect /repair/ installation and manufacture of free standing and fitted furniture – Joinery works
  • Inspect/ clear drainage and gully systems – including installation and adaptation of drainage networks and connection there of to kitchen/ washroom/ WC facilities.
  • Joinery Works including but limited to - Inspect/repair and installation of doors (Inc. Fire Doors)/ windows/ Kitchens/ cabinets/ shelving/ funtiture/ bathroom privacy panels and fencing works.
  • Painting, re-decorating surface finishes from walls/ floors ceilings with different paint systems/ wall paper and applying remedial treatments for damp/ mould efflorescence etc.
  • Plumbing works including but not limited to connection of new washroom/ kitchen and WC acilities to existing networks, altering systems to suit new configurations.
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required to a varying portfolio of buildings from office accommodation/ sports facilities/ public WC/ listed buildings and everything in between.
  • General site services; to include, sweeping and tidying assisting in carrying materials/ installation of bulky/ heavy materials and keeping the sites and depot in a tidy/ clean condition.
  • Carry out Ad-Hoc activities supporting Equans and Client team including Moves/ Changes/ helping out
  • with CSR days to benefit the community in which we live.

Multiskilled Engineer - Fabric

Equans is looking for a Multiskilled Engineer - Fabric to join our team in Ashton under Lyne for our Tameside General Hospital contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
Equans are recruiting for a Building Fabric Technician, based at Tameside General
Hospital, but may also infrequently be required to cover Salford Royal Hospital, the Building Fabric Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards at Tameside General Hospital. They will provide guidance to others on site, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in building fabrics and joinery. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.

Working hours are 37.5 hours per week. 0800 - 1600

-Ensure workload is planned, delivered to specification and agreed service requirement.
-Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
-Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
-Install, maintain and repair equipment.
-Diagnose, fault-find, commission and monitor facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
-Flexible working hours required.
-Administer and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
-Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, including sub-contractors management, completing all relevant permits.
-Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
-Full driving licence required.

Impact:
The individual will play a vital role to Equans, working alongside other colleagues in the team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.

Complexity:

We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the maintenance team at Tameside General Hospital. They will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with other team members. The individual should have ambitions to progress within a company that offers plentiful opportunities to develop. The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary of £31052.00 PA + Benefits Package.

Qualifications or Required Experience:.

-ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant are of expertise - joinery and or building fabric maintenance.
-Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
-Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
-Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements).

Desirable Experience:

-PFI/Healthcare experience would be an advantage. But not essential and familiarisation will be offered for the right candidate.
-Experience of working on all types of building fabrics ranging from fire door inspections, door repairs, finger guards, ironmongery repairs and replacements, flooring inspections, dry wall repairs and final finishes, installation of shelving, pattresses and any other associated items.
-Pricing of small works/projects – basic not complex works
-PPM & Reactive Work
-Authorised Person experience.

Joiner

Equans is looking for a Joiner to join our team at Heysham Power Station (LA3 2XQ) for our EDF contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

Joiner based at Heysham One Power Station. This is a significant role in supporting the CI Team. Enthusiasm, drive, and the ability to facilitate changes are important to the role. Supported by excellent communication and interpersonal skills candidates must be self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and be able to demonstrate a can-do attitude.

Technical Competences:

• Recognised skills to perform daily tasks of a SQEP Operative.
• Previous experience of Nuclear power station work / Industrial / Commercial work.
• Previous employment in the facilities management sector
• Qualified in your recognised skill set to City and Guilds (or equivalent)
• Be able to work with minimum supervision on all works
• Must have experience within the trade
• Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner taking into account H&S Legislation
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to H&S and the environment.
• Carry out associated tasks / repairs to complete job task
• Perform all duties as requested by the Hard Services Manager that are reasonable and achievable
• Enthusiastic and committed to provide a professional, high-quality service to the Company and the client.
• Be able to prioritise your work, work to tight deadlines, plan, organise and monitor several activities at the same time.
• Reliable under pressure.
• A flexible approach to working hours is essential due to the operational requirements of the contract.
• Ability to measure, work to plans (metho statements), read technical diagrams and drawings and communicate, present and report technical information
