EQUANS are recruiting for a Labourer to be based in Londonderry. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £25,504 and benefits package.

General Overview

  • To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Labourer to the standards set out by the contract. 
  • To carry out the duties as a Labourer in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. 
  • To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements. 
  • To ensure you complete the full sequence of events on PDA and the completion of jobs for invoicing.
  • Efficient use of the Impact system.
  • To adhere to the Client contract KPI’s and, target dates and timeframes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide a high quality service to Choice tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
  • To undertake all elements of a labourer, and where required undertake roof work.
  • Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
  • To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
  • To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
  • To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
  • Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
  • Compliance with specification and SOR codes
  • Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
  • Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
  • Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
  • Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
  • Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
  • Maintain and care for all company tools
  • To use appropriate safety equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
  • To ensure areas of work are left clean, tidy and safe at all times
  • To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy
  • Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc
  • Be responsible for your own safety and all other around you
  • Make every effort to attend mandatory courses relevant to your role
  • Material co-ordination and organisation
  • Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site based documentation
  • To oversee/assist in the training of apprentices as required
  • Any other reasonable management request
  • Within your salary includes payment for small hand tools essential for carrying out the duties of a Roofer, please ensure these are fit for purpose and in line with H&S requirements.

Fabric Engineer

Equans is recruiting for a Fabric Engineer in a mobile capacity on the HMCTS contract based from Telford covering various site across the Midlands. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
 

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. Activities will include:

  • Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect /repair free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect/replace lamps / tubes
  • Inspect/repair doors (Inc. Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture.
  • Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/signed/notices
  • Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
  • Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • Carry out reactive / Ad-Hoc activities – being the first response on site, and where appropriate taking immediate action to make safe
  • Escorting contractors

Who are we looking for?

  • Would be desirable if you hold an NVQ (or similar) in either Plumbing, Carpentry or Decorating Services.
  • Demonstrable experience in either carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment.

Equans is working closely in partnership with the National Lottery following a successful bid for an 18-month project.

Equans is looking for an Installer to join our team in a Mobile capacity cover various retailer sites across South England, ideally based Southampton on a 16 Month Fixed Term contract. What will you deliver? 

  • The role involves the Installation and deinstallation of National Lottery equipment across the UK and Ireland at Circa 44,000 retailers.
  • Ensure the project is delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget

  • Ensure that when unloading old kit, you store it safely & correctly for the driver to collect.

Equans is looking for a Contract Delivery Supervisor to join our team within Repairs & Maintenance in Kings Road, Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role overseeing the Repairs and Maintenance contract we service for Birmingham City Council. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.

  • Assist the Responsive Repairs Manager in the delivery of a high performing, effective and efficient Responsive Repairs and Maintenance Service including the monitoring of a team of Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors

Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant – Water Flusher to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh on a 6 month Fixed Term contract. Working hours are 7am – 7pm on a 4 on 4 off basis.


What will you deliver?

  • Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
  • To deliver routine maintenance predominantly water flushing and general duties as allocated by management 
  • Carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the site, this will also include Grounds and Gardens work and manual labouring tasks.
  • Carry out PAT testing following training completion
  • Carry out general duties including relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms

Maintenance Assistant - Water Flusher

Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant – Water Flusher to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh on a 6 month Fixed Term contract. This is a full-time role working 16 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package. 

 

Working hours are Saturday & Sunday between 7am and 4pm 


What will you deliver?

  • Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
  • To deliver routine maintenance predominantly water flushing and general duties as allocated by management 
  • Carry out routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning activity across the site, this will also include Grounds and Gardens work and manual labouring tasks.
  • Carry out PAT testing following training completion
  • Carry out general duties including relocations and moves, tidying and cleaning Estates areas and Plant rooms
  • To cover for other team members when needed
  • Working on an as required basis

Who are we looking for?

  • Must have previous building services maintenance experience
  • Good understanding of installation and maintenance techniques with excellent working knowledge of carpentry and plumbing.
  • Ability to manage workload and plan day effectively
  • Desirable to have previous experience in a healthcare environment
  • A team player with strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • IT literate, and ambition for personal development
  • Valid driving licence essential for driving company vehicles
  • Able to work on own initiative with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.

Painter/Decorator

EQUANS are recruiting for a Painter / Decorator to be based in Londonderry. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £27,560, a van & fuel card and benefits package.

General Overview

  • To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Painter and Decorator to the standards set out by the contract. 
  • To carry out the duties as a Painter and Decorator in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. 
  • To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements. 
  • To ensure you complete the full sequence of events on PDA and the completion of jobs for invoicing.
  • Efficient use of the Impact system.
  • To adhere to the Client contract KPI’s and, target dates and timeframes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide a high-quality service to Choice tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
  • To undertake all elements of 1st and 2nd fix Painting and Decorating, and where required undertake roof work.
  • Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
  • To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
  • To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
  • To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
  • Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
  • Compliance with specification and SOR codes
  • Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
  • Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
  • Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
  • Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
  • Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
  • Maintain and care for all company tools
  • To use appropriate safety equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
  • To ensure areas of work are left clean, tidy and safe at all times
  • To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy
  • Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc
  • Be responsible for your own safety and all other around you
  • Make every effort to attend mandatory courses relevant to your role
  • Material co-ordination and organisation
  • Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site based documentation
  • To oversee/assist in the training of apprentices as required
  • Any other reasonable management request
  • Within your salary includes payment for small hand tools essential for carrying out the duties of a Painter and decorator, please ensure these are fit for purpose and in line with H&S requirements.

Facilities Team Leader

Equans is looking for a Facilities Team Leader to join our team in Woodland View Hospital - Irvine on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Responsible for carrying out and controlling the day to day planned maintenance, reactive repair, minor project works and procurement of materials and contracted works within Woodland View Hospital, based primarily within the Woodland View Hospital on a permanent basis with flexibility required to support other Equans sites as and when requested by the Contract TSM.
  • To work in accordance with the requirements of Equans rules for the Safe Operation of Low Voltage, Mechanical, Pressure, Water, Medical Gas and Confined Spaces. To work in accordance with the requirements of Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM’s) and any other relevant statutory compliance requirements.
  • Actively participate in the operation and control of all planned maintenance schemes in support of the business and contract needs.
  • Manage responses to any unplanned events in a timely fashion and in accordance with the SLA response and rectification time’s thus ensuring minimal failures resulting in financial penalties and contractual service failure points.
  • Supervise, control planned and reactive electrical/ mechanical maintenance tasks, carry out small work and variation requests, and any other tasks deemed reasonable and within the capabilities of the individual at the request of the senior management team. This will include but is not limited to, electrical systems, generators, emergency lighting.
  • Required to cover on-call

Who are we looking for?

  • Must have successfully completed a recognised Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship and have previous experience in a similar role carrying out maintenance duties.
  • Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Be competent to supervise/undertake/assists/work on the type of building service systems and equipment for which the appointment is sought.
  • Familiar with the type of systems and equipment on which work is required to be undertaken. Possess technical knowledge and sufficient experience to avoid any danger that may be presented by the work to be undertaken.
  • Have an adequate knowledge of and within the preceding three years have received training in first aid (including CPR Training). If not held, training will be given.
  • The ability to pass a Standard Disclosure Scotland check.
