Mobile Mechanical Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join our team on the HMCTS contract. You will be responsible for working across various courts in Middlesbrough and the North East. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What you will deliver:

  • Carry out all planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork/CAFM regarding planned and reactive activities
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors, and the client representatives.
  • Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated with electrical and all FM related tasks.
  • Arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
  • Carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.

  • City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 (Desirable)
  • Experienced fault-finding skills in BMS, LTHW systems, CLTHW systems, pumps, motors, HVAC, LV power systems,

Mechanical Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Dungeness, Kent (TN29 9PX) on a permanent basis for our EDF contracts. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

• Level 3 Combined Diploma in Process Engineering Maintenance
• Demonstrable, Similar Level of Mechanical or Mechanical Maintenance Experience
• Be willing to provide out of hours cover when required
• Customer focused, confident in their skills and a confident communicator
• Competent in fault finding and diagnostics and procurement of spares
• Be willing to complete role specific training on and off site
• Sufficient knowledge and skill to be able to use computers

Competencies:

• Ability to work with small air handling unit services to large scale ventilation system overhauls
• Experience to confidently diagnose faults, identifying spares and carry out the work efficiently

• Manage a team of Electricians, facilitating appropriate project work as well as repair to systems, plant or equipment to the required standard

• Proven knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
• Budget monitoring, commercial awareness and experience at managing contractors
• Previous work experience in the nuclear sector / industrial environment advantageous, specifically high voltage plant / equipment
• Proven ability in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Suitable relevant technical experience including the preparation of technical documentation, the review and approval of technical proposals and procedures, experience of construction, testing and commissioning activities

We are looking for Engineers that are from either an Electrical, Mechanical or Air Conditioning background.

What will you deliver?

  • Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work
  • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager
  • Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and
    provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required
  • Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order. In accordance with the delegated authority with the applicable contract or authorised by the client
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works
  • Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) prior to starting work evidencing it is safe to proceed. Note any safety concerns using the AIMS system
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times
  • There will be a requirement to work out of hours to fulfil our maintenance commitments of
    our customers and be part of the on call rota

Static Technical Operative - Mechanical

Equans is looking for a Static Technical Operative (Mechanical) to join our team in Strand, Holborn for our HMCTS contract on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
To work as a Mechanical engineer with electrical qualification. This Role is to provide both reactive and planned maintenance task as well as replacements though minor works and lifecycle. The role is to maintain the HVAC systems. To manage the sites BMS. And to over see daily operational of cooling towers. 

Qualifications
Desirable to have an NVQ (or similar) in electrical and Mechanical studies.
Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. 
Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site carrying out associated with electrical and all FM related tasks.

To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.

Impact: 
Working to high standard of service, we require a fully reliable and competent Handyman/Fabric Tech who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing good quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of EQUANS so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.

Complexity:  
The successful candidate will have the ability to work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers, promoting EQUANS’ values. 
Have an excellent knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and/or painting/decorating techniques.
Have an eye for detail and be conscious of quality standards.

• To maintain effective communication with the customers at site level

Mechanical Engineer with Water Bias

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Westminster, London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

A role has become available on a prestigious government facilities management contract for a mechanical engineer with a water bias. Mobile Electrician

Equans is looking for an Electrician to join our team in Barking, London on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

We are looking for an Electrician who will be responsible for the technical performance and maintaining Equans and industry standards within the London Barking Schools contract and is part of our front line customer facing team with the responsibility of dealing with high end maintenance work.

What will you deliver?

  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
  • Test electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipment
  • Reassemble and test equipment following repairs
  • Inspect and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions
  • To carry out all PPM and repairs as necessary
  • Ensure any parts required are clearly and accurately stated
  • Obtain and maintain required certification
  • Ensure that any difficulties encountered on engineering activities are reported to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager

Mechanical Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

The post holder will very much be involved with the maintenance and minor works service covering a wide and varied range of mechanical equipment servicing large industrial units such as dual fired boilers and heating and ventilation distribution equipment.

What will you deliver?

  • Undertake fault finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW /LTHW pressure heating water systems, critical systems and equipment and pressurised steam systems
  • Using cause effect analysis and detailed examination to gain a solution and use of all relevant drawings and schematics
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning and testing in accordance with published procedures, completing all report sheets and test certificates as necessary and mark up any drawing alterations
  • Use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works ensuring full compliance with EQUANS Guidelines and Controls e.g. Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection and Hazardous Substances
  • Work involves the use of analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop fixed equipment, portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, medical gas equipment (patient use) suction units, geared drives

Mechanical Engineer (Heating & Plumbing)

Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer (Heating & Plumbing) to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package. 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer (Heating & Plumbing) to join our Facilities Management team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh.  This is a permanent position working 48 hours per week. The role will be on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, and working hours will be 0900 - 21:00. There will be participation in an out of hours on call rota, and overtime when necessary.

Key activities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive preventative maintenance (RPM) tasks as assigned through Maximo (or other system)
  • Sign off on completed work and promptly report any issues to the M&E Lead for rectification. Ensure tasks are properly closed off in Maximo following full completion.
  • Demonstrate initiative and judgment in resolving non-routine problems independently.
  • Recommend options for improved task performance and provide workable solutions to immediate work problems.
  • Effectively plan, organize, and prioritize allocated work.
  • Take ownership of tasks and deliver them to the best of your ability.
  • Respond flexibly to changing circumstances, work priorities, and deadlines.
  • Complete tasks within agreed timescales and ensure adherence to high-quality standards.
  • Observe and follow work through to completion while checking for errors and making necessary corrections.

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SHTM (Sottish Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
  • Excellent understanding of Engineering Building Services installation and maintenance techniques.
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Mobile Gas Engineer

The Mobile Gas Engineer will be required to work as part of the in-house Stoke Schools engineering team to deliver all Gas associated Planned and Reactive works within an Education environment

 

What will you deliver? 

  • Fault finding and Repair of Gas Fired Boiler plant & Heating Systems
  • Carry out regular planned maintenance on Gas assets
  • Provide lifecycle & defect reports relating to Gas elements.
