Health & Safety Manager
Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint a Health & Safety Managers to support our growing Data Center in Newport and West Drayton.

What you will deliver?
- Promoting a safety-first culture in the business and ensure compliance to the company's Management System. Influence site management on best practice and compliance requirements
- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated
- Carrying out Audits and report on the findings and recommendations to project team and chair the Site Health and Safety Committee meetings with the Project Director
- Carrying out accident investigations and report back to project team leader and Health & Safety Lead
- Carrying out Tool Box Talks regarding high risk activities
- Liaise with supply chain regularly to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures
- Identify hazards and record on the NOC system
- Reviewing and providing feedback to RAMS and risk assessments
- Conducting training, lead the Bsafe program, manging records and work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety
- Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business
- Drive sub-contractor performance

Who are we looking for?
- A Health & Safety professional with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Able to challenge when unsafe acts or behaviours identified
- Write weekly summaries of site conditions
- Proficient in delivering impactful training to groups
- Skilled in creating and developing charts and graphs for monthly reports
- Good with Excel and Pivot Tables
- Previous construction experience
- Ability to work their own, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience of using PowerPoint and preparing presentations

Senior Project Engineer - Electrical

- Coordinate and control the on-site construction process ensuring the site build progresses in line with plan
- Liaise with Statutory Authorities and Local Authorities as directed by the Site Manager in the submission of all Building Regulation cards as required to allow the progress of the project
- Develop and agree electrical submission and approval process with the client and design team
- Be involved in the overall programming and planning of the build
- Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports
- Chair and minute the subcontractor meetings
- Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management
- Operational support including review of procedures, best practices and initiatives

Fitter / Plumber
EQUANS are recruiting for a Fitter / Plumber to be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £34,000 to £35,000 plus a shift allowance of £3,372 per annum. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provider.
- Undertake any training as required
- Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
- After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’s) and other specialised hospital equipment.
- Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that is outside core trade.
- To carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response.
- Work in highly unpleasant working conditions, unblocking drains and sewers, which include biological hazards of body fluids and noxious fumes.
- To work safely on steam and hot water systems
- To always observe statutory and other relevant requirements those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations.

T&I Electrician
Equans is looking for a Testing & Inspection Electrician to join our team in Edmonton, working on our contract with Cola-Cola on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role will report directly to the Site T&I Supervisor with responsibility for the day to day operation of the electrical testing and inspection contract, including development of the contract.
What will you deliver?
- Carry out scheduled Electrical testing and Inspection maintenance tasks including but not limited to Emergency Lighting, ECIR, Illumination Levels, Infra-Red, Motors, PAT, Static Discharge, Lightening Protection. To carry out repairs and operations of equipment and services in accordance with best practice
- Operate and maintain the plant at the sites identified above in line with existing procedures, thereby fulfilling site health, safety, environmental, quality and customer service targets. This will include identifying areas for continual improvement
- Ensure that all works under his/her control are effectively carried out to ensure that any third-party contractors who carry out work on the site do so in a safe and professional manner and abide by the relevant Company Procedures and site specific procedures where applicable
- Ensure that works are conducted in line with Company Safe Systems of Work and the site Permit to Work system, ensuring adequate procedures and processes are in place
- Complete PPM and reactive works activities in accordance with contract requirements, and in line with company competency appointment(s)

Equans Data Centers are seeking to appoint Project Managers – Mechanical, to support our growing Data Centre business.
We are committed to providing cutting edge solutions for our clients Data Centre facilities and are recruitment Project Managers – Mechanical to join our innovative team in projects based in the UK. The Project Managers – Mechanical will be part of the team responsible for managing the construction aspects of large projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.
What you will deliver?
- Manage a team to ensure that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards
- Be an expert and provide guidance and direction to ensure operational excellence
- Coordinate and control the on-site construction process ensuring the site build progresses in line with plan
- Develop and agree electrical submission and approval process with the client and design team
- Support the overall programming and planning of the build
- Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports
- Chair and minute the subcontractor meetings
- Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management
- Operational support including review of procedures, best practices and initiatives

Senior M&E Engineer
Equans is looking for a Senior M&E Engineer (Mechanically Biased) to join our team at Barnet General Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, based on a shift pattern of 6am to 3pm and 9am to 6pm rotating weekly. There is also an on-call rota which will include working on the Saturday and Sunday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
The role of Senior Engineer is part of the Contract Management team and as such you will be expected to be responsible to support the Management team in ensuring that the M&E/Fabric team delivers the contracted service to the highest quality whilst being committed to safety and following all company protocols.
What will you deliver?
- Undertaking Responsible Person/Authorised Person duties required by the provision of the contract for the disciplines for which you have been appointed. To act as a role model for the operation of the Safe Systems of Work. To participate in the on call rota. To undertake training as required
- Manage approved contractors as required; to ensure that all work undertaken is covered by a suitable and sufficient RA/MS in compliance with the Safe System of Work; and to monitor all activities as delegated to ensure that they are completed in full and to the agreed standard

Mechanical Technician
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Technician (Water) to join our team at Sandwell General Hospital and Birmingham City Hospital (Retained Estate) on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Perform the complete range of Mechanical Technician (Water) tasks as required or directed by management
- Be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations, and all safety rules both Equans and Statutory
- Understand the operation of water systems and to correctly apply this knowledge and understand during the performance of Estates Services maintenance and testing activities
- Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision

- Maintain records and logbooks, ensuring they are kept up to date and available for inspection
- Record information as required for the operation of Maximo or similar system

M&E Technician
Equans is looking for two M&E Technicians, one Electrical Biased and the other Mechanically Biased to join our team at Barnet General Hospital on a permanent basis. This a leading role requiring a thorough understanding of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques. To apply trade skills and experience to ensure the satisfactory completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works.
What will you deliver?
- Take responsibility for all works issued and to ensure that all attendance and rectification times are achieved. Where not possible, to escalate to line Manager in good time in order that appropriate action can be taken to mitigate financial penalty risk
- Ensure that all works assigned are managed so far as attendance and completion times, and that works orders are completed and update to the CAFM system (Maximo). Reports should be concise and include all relevant information to ensure that the workflow process is seamless
- Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the Site
- Maintain and carry out repairs on HVAC systems, gas appliances, Piped Medical Gas systems, steam plant/equipment and all other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas and other departments
- Works will involve working in a live Hospital environment, working at height (Podiums), using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery/equipment for larger repairs (Doors etc). All PPE and training as appropriate will be provided
