HVAC Technician

Equans is looking for a HVAC Technician to join our team in Leiston, Suffolk (Sizewell B Power Station) on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

As the HVAC Technician, you will work in a team and be responsible for: Routine plant maintenance, overhaul, and fault-finding work on a wide range of mechanical plant equipment including:
• Pumps,
• Air compressors,
• Fans,
• Drives,
• Motors
• Pneumatic controls,
• Pressurisation units’ systems.
• Electrical circuits associated with equipment (Optional / desirable)

Industry Qualifications Required:
• City & Guilds Level III or NVQ equivalent is a mandatory requirement
• C&G/HNC or time served equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, factory services or similar subject.

Desirable:
• IOSH managing Safely.

HVAC Engineer

Equans is looking for a HVAC Engineer to join our team in Hunterston, Scotland on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:  
The individual will play a vital role in Equans, working alongside an already established Hard Services team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a positive set of behaviours and a flexible approach to ensure contract compliance.

Impact:  
Our HVAC engineers are responsible for ensuring the scheduled PPM is carried out in accordance with set schedules provided, reacting to emergent defects and failures, and delivering installation and modifications works.
You will be responsible for attending start of shift briefs, ensuring you read and understand all correct Risk Assessments & Method Statements as well as site safety documentation.

Complexity:  
• Carry out PPMs in accordance with set schedules and feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner during and on completion of execution week.
• During PPM, ensure all defects, failures and observations are feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner so that they can be actioned. 
• Conduct reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis on all report issues and help desk requests.
• Deliver installation, upgrades, and modifications of site AC systems to support site office & welfare refurbishment programmes.
• Client Quality Assurance procedures and behaviours are to be adhered to at all times. 
• When attending a work face, conduct a dynamic risk assessment, ensuring the work pack is satisfactory for delivery of the task.
• Constantly engage with Supervisor and Works Planner during execution week, reviewing progress against the plan on the delivery status of each task, highlighting extensions to programmes, justifications, and any plant issues/defects.  
• Arrive promptly to agenda driven team briefings, daily. Ensure you are briefed on the correct risk assessment and method statement for their allocated task and the work is carried out safely in accordance with agreed procedural use, written procedures, and safety documentation.
• Attend meetings with colleagues, client, or other stakeholders to discuss project delivery objectives, risks, and requirements.
• Support Mechanical Supervisor by conducting site measures, arranging material quotations, engaging on scope, resourcing, and timescales.
• Manage daily logging of the teams hours against activity. 
• Attend and participate in all internal and external training courses as and when required for the role.

Qualifications or Required Experience:  
• F-Gas and ODS Regulations (2079) Category 1 
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6187) or equivalent.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge and familiarity with electrical regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Familiarity with risk management, hazard reduction, and quality assurance control.
• CDM Awareness 
• CSCS(ECS)/CCNSG

Mobile Air Conditioning Supervisor

Equans is looking for a Mobile Air Conditioning Supervisor to join our team working on our Mobile South contract on a permanent basis. The locations span across the M25 so we require candidates that are open to travel across this area. 

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, there is also an on-call rota. On offer is a salary banding of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience, company vehicle and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Review Engineering Job Sheets in timely manner for accuracy, legibility, procurement, (materials and quotations) problem solving
  • Support Helpdesk with allocating calls to the correct engineers for your sites –  escalation as and when required
  • Supervise availability of engineering staff to attend training courses in line with Compliance Supervisor requests
  • Ensure all engineers PPE is up to date and safe
  • Make and document any PPM changes / variations – Change Control Process, CAFM
  • Be available for out of hours call-out support for designated contracts
  • Be able to cover sites during absence as directed by Contract Manager

Mobile AC Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile AC Engineer to join our team in Benton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne on a permanent basis for our Mobile Technical Services department. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
• Ensure all PPM is carried out in accordance with the maintenance specification and documented in real time using the PDA to log start/wait/stop completion and travel times with appropriate comments to evidence completion of work.
• Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager.
• Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required.
• Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system.
• Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order. In accordance with the delegated authority with the applicable contract or authorised by the client.
• Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
• Undertake Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) prior to starting work evidencing it is safe to proceed. Note any safety concerns using the AIMS system
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
• To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
• Undertake mandatory training and skill related training as required by the business.
• To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans Staff, Sub-Contractors and the Client representatives.
• Ensure the professional image of Equans is always presented to Clients
• Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
• Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
• Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
• To attend site in response to breakdowns or failures of the equipment outside of normal working hours (call outs). Take part in the regional on-call rota.
• There will be a requirement to work out of hours to fulfil our maintenance commitments of our customers.
• Undertake regular audits of vehicle / tools to ensure they are in safe working order, including all test equipment is in date

Any other task as directed by the contract manager

Impact:
As Equans representative and first point of contact with the Client, the importance of this role cannot be overestimated.
It is essential that all works are carried in a cost effective, timely manner, maximising revenue, where possible.

Complexity:
• Maintenance and repair of AC Installations
• Excellent fault finding and diagnosis skills a must.
• Carry out Installation work and complete appropriate Certification
• Operation and interrogation of BMS
• Basic knowledge in building fabric repairs

Qualifications or Required Experience:
• A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential.
• FGas certification essential
• Trade qualified AC Engineer with appropriate post apprenticeship experience desirable.
• Must have a full clean drivers’ licence.
• Legionella awareness (preferable – can provide training)
• Asbestos awareness (preferable but not essential)
• MEWP Licence (preferable but not essential)
• First aid trained (preferable but not essential)
• Computer literate
• Good communicator
• Able to deal diplomatically with the client’s demanding personnel
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
• Able to work as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• To always maintain a clean and smart appearance
• Physically fit
• Fluent in English both written and oral.
• Must be available to participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.
