Project Handover Engineer

Our highly successful renewable energy business has a great opportunity for a Project Handover Engineer, the role will involve managing the handover of projects to clients by coordinating the completion of activities and the collation, quality control and handover of the output documentation.

Currently we have projects covering the Midlands, Yorkshire, Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The role can be based at one of the following offices; Manchester, Cambridge, London Waterloo, Welwyn or Sittingbourne. However the role will require travel and thus accommodation and other necessary support will be provided when working away from home.

Key activities:

  • Create a programme of all activities and documentation required for project handover.
  • Liaise with project team members (Project Managers, Quality personnel etc.) to agree required outputs from activities in advance, and the expected dates.
  • Monitor and manage the delivery of the agreed outputs, investigating and rescheduling any late items.
  • Track and report progress (%age completion) of each project’s handover pack.
  • Liaise with Client to ensure Client satisfaction with content and quality of handover pack as it is planned and delivered.
  • Collaborate with the team’s Document Control staff to ensure the progressive upload of handover documentation throughout the project up until final handover.
  • Ensure that all relevant contractual requirements are met by the contents of the handover pack.
  • Expedite and coordinate Client comments and ensure that required updates to handover documentation are incorporated, and the documentation re-transmitted.
  • To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.

Skills, qualifications & experience:

 

  • Experience in the management and delivery of Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects
  • Experience of activity planning, monitoring, tracking and expediting
  • Organised and diligent
  • Proactive and confident in working with internal team, Client and supply chain

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Energy Engineering team in the development of innovative renewable energy and retrofit efficiency projects. This key role will report to the Energy Engineering Director, supporting the continued growth in our engineering and design function in light of our expanding pipeline of work.

The  Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the electrical design elements of multidisciplinary projects from RIBA 1 to 4, as well as provide technical assurance during construction. These projects will typically range in value from £1m to £5m an encompass virtually all forms of renewable energy technologies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in electrical engineering, spanning conventional building services, infrastructure and renewable energies. The candidate will be conversant with modern design tools, such as Amtec, AutoCAD and REVIT, as well as key design standards, regulations and codes of practice. Creativity, innovative thinking and adaptability will be required in order to meet the diverse needs and ambitions of our projects.

Key activities

  • The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will hold responsibilities for assuring that design packages are delivered on time, on budget, satisfy project requirements and achieve compliance

  • Will involve leadership of both in-house and external design engineers, as well as collaborative teamwork with adjoining engineering disciplines

  • Will need to take a project briefs, potentially from pre-concept stage, identify design options and select the best available technique, through rigorous qualitative and quantitative assessment
  • Develop robust yet efficient designs in unique project environments with immovable deadlines
  • Liaise with Statutory Authorities, including Distribution Network Operators, to obtain relevant consents
  • Coordinate internal and external designers to ensure achievement of deliverables
  • Prepare scopes and specifications for externally procured activities

Skills, qualifications & experience

  • Bachelors or masters degree in engineering,
  • Membership with an appropriate professional institution
  • Relevant awards associated with electrical engineering
  • UK Engineering Council Chartership would be advantageous, though not exclusive

Solutions Consultant

EQUANS is looking for a Solutions Consultant to join our team on a permanent, hybrid and full time basis. On offer is a competitive salary of between £30,000 - £45,000 company vehicle and benefits package. Must be open to travel. 

The Energy and Carbon Solutions (ECS) consulting division provides an initial engagement that helps shape our new and existing client’s operational plans to deliver their net zero objectives. What differentiates us from many of our competitors in the consulting space is our ability to transition these plans into engineering management programmes through our wider project delivery and operations teams. Our team is therefore composed of commercially minded engineers who are able to create and present attractive solutions that have the potential to be delivered by Equans as a turnkey net zero partner.

What will you deliver? 

The Solutions Consultant will have the primary focus of delivering professional consultative services in low carbon and energy solutions that enable net zero transitions for our clients in the Public and private sectors.

Under the leadership of a Senior Solutions Manager, the Solutions Consultant will support the consulting team to effectively manage opportunities from conception through handover to the EQUANS project delivery divisions. They will support the ECS management team in delivering technically excellent work, building client relationships, forming effective partnerships with external consultants, suppliers, and partners – ultimately supporting the overall technical and commercial solution presented to clients.

  • Supporting effective team and project management, including project completion timelines, project costs and profitability, and ensuring client needs are met.

  • Delivering technical reports and energy audits as part of the solution development process

This is a highly technical position requiring engineering thinking and problem solving to a high degree. The role also requires complex analytical and commercial thinking and will support the development of the client deliverables to agreed timescales and quality standards.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Degree in an energy or sustainability related engineering discipline

Senior Civil Structural Design Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Structural Design Engineer to join our Energy & Carbon Solutions business. This business unit supports a wide range of decarbonisation and renewable energy projects.

The main purpose for this role will involve managing the civil and structural engineering and design development, working alongside a team of in-house specialist engineers with elements outsourced to subconsultants. Typical civil and structural work includes engineering buildings / structures and foundations, drainage systems, highways access, site temporary / permanent roadways, utilities / services distribution, solar superstructures etc.

Key activities 

  • To lead the civil and structural design and engineering development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, from early concept through the construction phases
  • To manage and maintain design technical compliance with Employer’s Requirements, statutory requirements and relevant design standards
  • To ‘project manage’ the civil and structural design process
  • To develop conceptual designs, design / performance specifications and outline scopes of work, to enable commissioning of detailed design, design & build contract specifications and specialist consultancy support
  • Lead the commissioning of insourced / outsourced design and specialist consultancy, through the preparation of technical briefs, design scopes and performance specifications
  • Interrogate and optimise civil and structural designs
  • Assist in the delivery of Construction Design & Management Principal Designer duties, including but not limited to the preparation of Pre-Construction Information, appraisal of Designer’s Risk Assessments, preparation of Hazard Assessments and identification / implementation of mitigations
  • Assist in the development of Commissioning Plans, Integrated Test Plans, Quality Acceptance Test Plans

Senior Account Development Manager

Equans is looking for a Senior Account Development Manager to join our EV Charging Solutions business the role will be based in Leeds on a hybrid working pattern. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Senior Account Development Manager will manage their own customers alongside having management of other account managers in the team. The role will take ownership of key customer accounts across both public and private sectors as well as offering support and leadership to the team in managing their customers. What will you deliver?

 

The role is responsible for managing and growing key account relationships whilst also managing others within the team. The role will ensure that account plans and targets are set and achieved. Specifically:

  • Ensure active account plans are in place for all key customers
  • Financial targets – ensure that account level revenue and margin targets are achieved
  • Customer engagement – ensure that customers are engaged and their satisfaction is measured and improved through including them in research and gaining feedback (including the annual NPS survey)
  • Reporting of performance – ensure progress and results are reported through weekly and monthly reporting
  • Continual improvement – ensure learning is applied within and between accounts to drive best practice in the team
  • Contract management – ensure contracts are agreed, understood across EVS and delivered, including KPIs and SLAs
  • Operational management – work with the Operations team to ensure customers’ operational requirements are met; including project delivery, reporting, revenue returns and charger operation
  • Build effective relationships within each account – and ensure that the appropriate account links are made across the organisation with active customer account maps
  • Account renewals – ensure that the account renewal and extension process is managed to retain and grow customers

Sustainability Adviser

EQUANS are recruiting for a Sustainability Adviser to be based in Manchester or Seaham. This is a full-time permanent role working 38 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The main purpose of the role is to provide oversight of present and future technology and governance applicable to the Sustainability agenda.

Research, support and coordinate all governance requirements of green grant applications and opportunities.

Assist with the submission of documents to energy supplier partners to ensure draw down of funding.

Research of supply chain capacity and capability - Engage with key supply chain partners to support the effective development and delivery of projects, including life cycle cost.

Lead on training opportunities.

Analysis of housing stock data to identify opportunities for energy efficiency works.

Provide advice and assistance to the site teams in relation to all aspects of Sustainability. Lead on the development of Health & Wellbeing and Fuel Poverty models

Administration and coordination of environmental documentation.

Liaise with client, regulatory bodies and subcontractors on matters of environmental management and sustainability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assisting internal project teams with the delivery of energy efficiency and
  • microgeneration works.
  • Support technical proposals to outline energy efficiency solutions for clients.
  • Maintain a wide knowledge and understanding of the sector and pass this knowledge into the Business Unit region.
  • Assist the Bid/Estimating Teams in the production of tender submissions.
  • Assist with the submission of documents to energy supplier partners to ensure draw down of funding.
  • Assist with the collation of relevant data and the preparation of reports to track the performance of energy efficiency schemes.
  • Maintain effective Client mapping, trackers, and metrics/analytics
  • Assist the Head of Compliance in collating and analysing data in relation to Carbon, Waste, Product Procurement and Community initiatives.

Compliance Manager

General Overview

The main purpose of the role is to support the regions profile of energy solutions within the region, identifying and working up proposals for clients and consultants with a view to securing profitable Energy Solution offerings.

Develop a sustainability compliance framework to support BP growth targets for the Energy & Sustainability function of the region. This will include extensive working with different departments and teams, providing support and technical guidance on compliance and governance on external funding opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

Document Control Manager

Our highly successful renewable energy business has a great opportunity for a Document Control Manager, the role will involve supporting our wide range of renewable energy projects which include utility scale solar farms, district heating networks, micro grids and battery storage facilities.

The Document Control Manager will lead the implementation of Autodesk on all new projects and its integration with other software packages. Above all we are looking for someone who is a very detailed orientated individual given our Energy businesses main ethos is to deliver a high-quality product or solution for all our clients.

Key Activities

  • Become the Super User of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) software and Administrator of other legacy Common Data Environments (CDEs)
  • Receipt and issue of project documentation within the CDE
  • Liaise with our in-house designers and external subcontractors to expedite documents and ensure compliance with document control requirements
  • Create and set-up new project databases in ACC
  • Create new document control procedures for all projects (based on existing template)
  • Provide training and technical support to Energy Team members and external parties in the use of ACC
  • Provide essential support for project delivery in line with the Equans Integrated Management System
  • Maintain accurate reporting on documentation progress to support the project schedules
  • Collate information to assist Energy Team in preparing key project document packs, i.e. Pre-Construction Information, Health & Safety File, Operation & Maintenance Manual

EV Estimator

Equans is looking for an EV Estimator to join our EV Charging Solutions business the role will be home based with some additional national travel. Solar & BESS Operations Manager

We have a great opportunity for an Operations Manager to oversee major renewable EPC projects across the UK.  We design, install, commission and operate large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

Key Activities:

  • Leading the team of Senior project managers, project managers and site based staff on multiple projects (10+ at range of £5 -£40m valve each)
