Regeneration & Sustainability Director

EQUANS is seeking a Regeneration and Sustainability Director to join our team in Didsbury on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday. We are seeking a highly experienced Regeneration & Sustainability Director to lead and drive the performance of our established refurbishment team. As the Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, ensuring success in terms of safety, timeliness, cost, and quality while governing profit and loss, and managing risks. Your role will be key in supporting the senior leadership team (SLT) of the North West region, guiding strategy, and ensuring operational excellence 

What will you deliver? 

  • Leadership: Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team across Work-winning, Operations, Design, Commercial, and Customer functions, ensuring all members are aligned with the company’s goals and targets.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee project delivery from start to finish, ensuring health & safety, quality, and compliance standards are met while managing resources, costs, and timelines effectively.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships, working closely with Pre-Construction, Sustainability, and Business Development teams to identify and secure new opportunities.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Equans' SHEQ policy and legal safety requirements, including conducting Leadership Safety Visits and promoting a safety-conscious culture across all projects.
  • Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with the commercial team to establish a winning strategy for tenders, ensuring that contracts are fulfilled to the highest standards and all procurement schedules are met.
  • Team Development: Mentor and appraise staff, ensuring the team is well-resourced, fully trained, and capable of meeting performance targets while encouraging innovation and proactive problem-solving.
  • Strategic Contribution: Play a key role in contributing to the region's strategic development as a part of the North West SLT, driving operational improvements, sustainability initiatives, and business growth.
  • Pre-commencement Planning: Lead robust pre-commencement processes, ensuring effective mobilisation, welfare facilities, programme development, and preliminary budgeting across all projects.
  • Performance Reviews: Regularly conduct and document performance reviews across projects, ensuring a proactive approach to quality, risk management, and latent defect prevention.
  • Sustainability: Develop and oversee bespoke Social Value Plans for each project, in line with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, and ensure compliance with sustainability strategies.

  • Proven track record of delivering results in a senior management role within regeneration and sustainability, preferably within construction or refurbishment.
  • Extensive experience in managing health and safety standards to the highest level, with a deep understanding of SHEQ procedures.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

Project Manager

EQUANS is looking for a Project Manager to join our refurbishment team, this is a full time permanent role.  Our head office base is Hatfield however this role will be working on sites across Greenwich. We offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.  

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in a Project Management role for social housing. This project is capital works including but not limited to scaffolding, roofs, windows. We work on large volumes and short turn arounds so experience in this is needed. Experience in Microsoft Projects is also essential.

Equans is looking for a Contract Delivery Supervisor to join our team within Repairs & Maintenance in Kings Road, Birmingham on a permanent basis.

SHEQ Manager

EQUANS is looking for a SHEQ Manager to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

The main purpose is to ensure, in conjunction with the regional Head of SHEQ and local MD’s that adequate arrangements are made within each service provision for the effective implementation and operation of ISO standards and systems.  The Manager will also ensure that all resources either internal or outsourced are used effectively to support the business.  To understand, adhere and implement the company SHEQ policy / strategy, and ensure all those reporting to you do the same.

What will you deliver? 

  • Ensure equal SHEQ support is provided across all two service areas
  • Efficient management of resources allocated to the division.
  • Ensuring that data with regards to SHEQ performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed and implemented
  • Work with operational teams across northern region to construct, implement and achieve standardisation
  • Providing support and guidance to the region on technical, legal and other issues as required.
  • Proactively working with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and that relevant control measures are identified
  • Assisting the business with the implementation of the ISO standards and systems
  • Monitor and manage SHEQ systems relating to the region
  • Undertaking ‘active’ monitoring and auditing, providing feedback via the company’s reporting system
  • Highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred.
  • Manage incidents and the coordination of detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement
  • Producing management reports detailing levels of SHEQ performance and other such information as required

  • Ensuring that any incident that is deemed to have posed a significant risk to the division or is reportable under RIDDOR is fully investigated and reported to Regional Managing Director
  • Assisting the individual service Directors with the implementation of the ISO standards and systems
  • Dealing with the HSE, the Environment Agency, insurers and other bodies in the event of a major incident or as required.
  • Managing responses to insurance claims relating incidents with the region they cover.
  • Working with the Individual service Directors on the development and implementation of local strategies for improvement
  • Work alongside broader Northern SHEQ team to produce trend analysis with regards to good and bad practice, near misses, dangerous occurrences and incidents.

Quantity Surveyor

EQUANS is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our refurbishment team, this is a full time permanent role.  Our head office base is Hatfield however this role will be working on sites in Kensington and Chelsea. This role is to work as part of our refurbishment team on social housing properties, you will be working on internal and external works. You will be responsible for managing your own jobs working on projects of circa 39 million.

 

What will you deliver? 

    • Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base
    • Post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budget
    • Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and Safety.
    • Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)
    • Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects.
    • Commercial reporting / CVRs completed independently to be submitted for MQS approval
    • Logical and auditable preparation of relevant documentation for valuation, procurement and commercial administration

Highway Road Worker

Equans is looking for a Highway Road Worker to join our team in our North East Lincolnshire Partnership in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary up to £27,627 depending on skills and experience, plus benefits package.

The individual will be part of a team that has responsibility for the maintenance of the highway to ensure it is safe for all users of the network and the wider community, having regard to core objectives of safety, serviceability and sustainability. 

Please note applicants should hold Category C driving licence.

What will you deliver? 

  • Erection and removal of traffic management in accordance with the Safety at Streetworks and Roadworks Code of Practice.
  • Driving of highway vehicles and tippers, subject to license, training and competency.
  • The safe operation of powered plant and equipment, subject to license, training and competency, such as compaction equipment, masonry cutters, floor saws, breakers, pedestrian operated rollers and all ancillary equipment and tools appropriate to highway operations. Driving of specialist ride on plant, including telescopic handlers and forklift trucks, subject to license, training and competency.
  • Mixing, laying, levelling, spreading, compaction of bituminous materials, mortars, cements and concretes.ng of precast concrete kerbs, slabs, concrete block or sett paving.
  • Erection, fixing, cleaning and dismantling of highway street furniture including traffic sign posts, non-illuminated signs, guard railing, fencing and nameplates.
  • The reconstruction of inspection chambers, catchpits and road gullies and adjustment of gratings, covers and ironwork.
  • Accurate completion of records including time sheets, daily work records, vehicle inspection sheets, drivers hours records.

General Overview

Technical Supervisor

EQUANS is looking for a Technical Supervisor to join our team in Liverpool on a permanent basis for HMCTS contract, this will cover Cheshire, Merseyside and Liverpool Crown Court. General Overview:  
The post holder is accountable for the delivery of the HMCTS contract and associated specifications for the contract.
Duties include;
•Supervise the delivery of the contracted services for the HMCTS contract by supporting the AFM

•Support the AFM in achieving 100% statutory compliance.
