Equans is looking for a Contract Delivery Manager to join our team in Seaham on a permanent basis. This Contract Deliver Manager is a hybrid role working from home and/or the Northern office in Seaham.

General Overview
The Contract Delivery Manager is responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of contracts within a defined region / operating unit. This role involves leading a team of supervisors and operatives to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards of quality and safety. The Contract Delivery Manager is also responsible for client relationships, financial management, and ensuring that all work complies with legal and regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and business growth
What will you deliver?
- Oversee the delivery of all repair and maintenance contracts within the assigned region or portfolio
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations
- Manage project budgets, ensuring that work is delivered within financial constraints
- Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Contract Delivery Supervisors and site operatives
- Provide regular reports on project progress, financial performance, and key issues to senior management
- Support the bidding and tendering process as needed
- Contribute to the development of the company’s strategic goals and objectives, providing insights and recommendations based on contract performance and market trends

Who are we looking for?
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Site Supervision, or a related field
- SMSTS
- CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
- Experience in a supervisory role within the repairs and maintenance or construction industry
- Experience working within the social housing sector or on large-scale maintenance contracts
- Full UK driving licence

Highway Inspector
EQUANS is looking for a Highway Inspector to join our team in Grimsby. This is a permanent role working part time hours ideally between Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 5pm, for the right candidate we are able to be flexible on the hours. On offer is a competitive salary between £15,000 - £16,600 depending on skills and experience and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
The individual will be part of a team that has responsibility, under delegated powers, to ensure that the Local Authority discharges its statutory duty for the inspection, assessment and maintenance of the highway to ensure it is safe for all users of the network and the wider community, having regard to core objectives of safety, serviceability and sustainability. Investigation of possible breaches of planning and highway legislation in accordance with national and local policy and procedures.
Under delegated powers, Equans are required to undertake effective and systematic regimes of inspection, assessment and maintenance of the highway network to ensure the local authority discharges its statutory duty under the Highways Act 1980. The post holder is responsible, on a daily basis, for inspecting, assessing and prioritising reactive maintenance works on the highway to ensure the safety of the highway user. The decisions the post holder make are crucial in the support of the statutory defence (Section 58 of the Highways Act 1980) and ensures the local authority can manage its liability and risk in the event of legal proceedings against it.
- To inspect, investigate and order works as necessary to maintain the highway network in a safe condition.
- To conform to legislation, policy, codes of practice, procedures and standards to ensure a robust and consistent approach to highway maintenance.
- To maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure the local authority has adequate records for future reference and to enable the local authority to establish a defence against any action or liability claim that may arise.
- Working within strict legal protocols and timescales, assist with the processing of third-party insurance claims, providing inspection and maintenance records, meeting claimants and solicitors on site, providing statements of evidence and attending court for cross examination in defence of the local authority.
- To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including client officers, elected members, the general public, parish councils, neighbouring authorities, emergency services and any other interested parties on matters relating to highway services.
- To investigate stakeholder enquiries within prescribed timescales as directed by Highway Asset Engineer and Highway Maintenance Technician’s, often including complex and diverse issues and advise on potential solutions to problems to ensure the safety of the highway network.
- To assist with the investigation of freedom of information requests within prescribed timescales.
- To inspect the work of in-house labour force, contractors, or other third parties working on the highway, and to take any necessary measures to ensure their compliance with relevant legislation, specifications, standards and codes of practice.
- To identify and report on the need for more substantial improvement works on the highway, beyond the scope of reactive maintenance, for example roads requiring reconstruction, resurfacing, surface dressing and slurry sealing.
- When required, provide advice to third parties working in the highway, and if necessary, intervene to stop unsafe working practices.
- To assist with the enforcement of relevant legislation to ensure the safety of the highway network.
- To investigate and assist with the processing of applications for the construction of vehicular footway or verge crossings.

Business Development Manager

We have a great opportunity for a Business Development Manager to be based from one of our London offices to support our growing street lighting and highways electrical infrastructure business across the Midlands and Northern England. Key activities
- The Business Development (BDM) will support the agreed strategic target clients and prospects by making business telephone/web calls, in-person and collaborative visits, along with presentations to increase the profile of the company.
- The primary objective of the BDM will be to strive to exceed the businesses sales targets in respect of both value and margin.
- The company will expect the BDM to meet any sales targets as a minimum. In addition, the BDM must also meet any agreed specific company KPIs, expectations and objectives.
- The BDM may be allocated a specific group of strategic or target clients, a specific territory, an industry segment, a combination or all of the above. It will be the responsibility of the BDM to formulate the strategy, including any specific target client or project, and delivering success to the role.

Trainee Design Coordinator
Equans is looking for a Trainee Design Coordinator to join our team in Leeds, on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.

- Assist in the efficient management of the design information process both at tender and contract stages.
- To coordinate the Design process and information management with limited management support.
- To be responsible (with management assistance) for the design & consultant management for allocated new build contracts.

Senior Architect
EQUANS are looking for a Senior Architect to join our team in Grimsby this is a full time permanent role with a salary between £40,000 - £55,000 depending on skills and experience.
We are looking for a motivated Senior Architect who has a background in Team leadership, Contract Management and Technical Detailing to work at the North East Lincolnshire Contract location as a member of the Professional Service Design Team, who deliver primarily Commercial and Educational property, new build and refurbishment schemes.
EQUANS is North East Lincolnshire Council’s (NELC) long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a wide range of services including Property Services, Planning, Design Services, Highways & Transport, and assets. Equans are looking to employ a confident and motivated property professional who has experience with managing property construction works from the inception of a concept, detailed design, procurement and delivery of works. The individual will lead, manage and develop a team of design professionals, which include Architects, Architectural Technicians and Architectural Technologists, along with apprentices.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Head of Professional Services and assist with overseeing the team along with management of their own schemes thorough the RIBA Life cycle. Developing specification, Design Detailing, and management of construction projects.
What will you deliver?
- Management of construction professionals
- Financial forecasting/budgeting for the team. Development of estimations, project accounts, valuations, and pricing of designs to support building construction projects.
- Development of technical design solutions and align to best design and construction practice and Building Regulations. Providing design and technical support to building construction projects. Design of projects through site visits and the development of specifications, and detail design drawings using Auto CAD/2D & ideally Revit 3D packages.
- Providing procurement technical advice and guidance on building construction projects, in particular guidance on Terms and Conditions (examples are (JCT and NEC). All technical information provided is to be accurate to legislative standards, ACoPs and best practice.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation. Directing and monitoring construction works to include contract administration, variations, project costs and final accounts as appropriate and to assist in evaluating and determining appropriate actions where problems occur and report these to the client.
- Contract management – Management of construction schemes and the relationship with the Principal Contractor, ensuring that the team Issue Additional Instructions, Practical Completion and Completion certificates throughout the project life cycles, ensuring compliance with legislative, contractual and workmanship requirements. This also includes the briefing and commissioning of all consultants and clients.

EQUANS are looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team in Grimsby, this is a full time permanent role with a salary between £35,000 - £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
The Professional Services Team have a fantastic opportunity to join their multi-disciplinary design consultancy as a Senior Building Surveyor assisting with the specification, design detailing and management of property construction projects.
In return we are looking for someone with experience delivering refurbishment and essential maintenance. You will be confident working with contractors on site and have excellent problem solving skills. For the right candidate we would also consider a Building Surveyor who is keen to progress in their role.
What will you deliver?
- Development of specifications, designs and technical support to building construction projects. Ensuring all technical information provided is accurate to legislative standards, ACoPs and best practice.
- To develop briefs, specifications, scopes of work or any other technical information to contribute to the delivery of projects, procurement and Client’s briefings.

General Overview
The role of the Supervisor is to directly manage a team of operatives across all trades in any workstream across the contract, to ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, to a high-quality standard, with exceptional customer care. - Hold one 2 one meetings and PDR meetings with your teams
- Ensure your team carry out all mandatory training and support any ongoing training for team members including apprentices.
