What will you deliver?
- To carry out project defined carpentry work to a high standard as directed
- Compliance with specification / Compliance with materials and workmanship
- Maintain and care for all company tools
- Joining prefabricated materials in accordance with design plans using appropriate fixings
- Making repairs and restoring damaged parts
- Carry out various multi trade tasks to a high standard as instructed by the company including, Plumbing, Carpentary and Painting & Decorating

Document Controller
EQUANS are recruiting for a Document Controller to be based in Manchester. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
Support the teams to effectively manage all information flow, to maintain and control the influx and issue of drawings, specification, surveys, reports, documents and trackers, to ensure all departments/team members have the latest and correct information that has been processed through the workflow system. To develop the workflow system to the requirements of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the development of the utilisation of Viewpoint across all projects, in conjunction with our Digital Information Manager
- Regularly audit the systems to ensure it is being used effectively and aligns with our quality management system.
- Assist the teams in generating/preparing system required reportage.
- Issue protocol documents/coordinate set up of new projects/invites to Viewpoint.
- QA check: ensuring that all drawings / documents received on the system have been correctly named in accordance with the projects naming convention and have been uploaded to relevant workflow.
- Monitor workflows ensuring time scales and user efficiency.
- To manage several projects on the system simultaneously.
- The issuing of drawings & information for construction purposes.
- Where master files are kept in the technical department ensure these are filed in order and kept up to date
- Complete regular system audits on site use.
- Responsible for the general day to day management of the document control system for the project.
- Monitor consultants uploading, ensuring all necessary protocols and QA processes are followed, identify issues and close them out efficiently.
- In conjunction with our Digital Information Manager provide initial and ongoing training for new starters on how to use the document control system.
- Ensure all users of document control system have correct security permissions levels and accessibility.
- Regularly monitor approvals of drawings on Viewpoint/ provide necessary information for updating Information required schedules.
- Support the teams with setting up subcontract package folders on Viewpoint.
- Support the teams with usage of RFI/Tasks on Viewpoint
- Support the users in using all required systems, Teams/SharePoint etc.
- Assisting in general uploading of documentation where required
- Collation/QA check of As Built drawings

Trainee Temporary Works Engineer
Equans is looking for an enthusiastic Built Environment University student studying in the field of civil, structural or construction engineering for a 12 month placement as a Trainee Temporary Works Engineer based in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire.
Temporary works are the parts of a construction project that need to be put in place to support the permanent works during construction. Temporary works are either taken down at the end of the project, or in some cases they can be incorporated into the permanent structure. Examples of temporary work include:
- Scaffolding
- Propping
- Formwork

- Temporary Slopes
As a Trainee Temporary Works Engineer with Equans, you will join our central team and play an important role in helping us deliver complex new build and refurbishment projects across the region. You will gain experience working with a variety of construction projects covering everything from community regeneration and refurbishment to repairs, maintenance and housing development
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support construction sites across the region to ensure the temporary works procedures are understood and followed, helping to ensure temporary works are effectively planned, designed and implemented
- Assisting in the design and checking of engineering solutions in accordance with the relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and Approved Codes of Practice
- Learn to produce clear, consistent, referenced calculations, reports and sketches
- Clear communication of design philosophy, risks and requirements with site teams
- Develop the initiative and confidence to put forward solutions based on sound engineering principles
- Liaise with other departments/teams in the business to observe and learn about engineering challenges/solutions and the application of engineering principles
- Use computer aided design (CAD) software to develop design drawings
- Develop an appreciation of the team’s quality and programme targets, assisting in task management and priority planning
- Promote safe working practices in all areas and assist in fulfilling SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) requirements
