EQUANS is looking for a Supervisor (Mechanical) to join our team in Halifax on a permanent basis at Calderdale Royal Hospital. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

Supervise a multi discipline Estates maintenance team & service partners day to day operations. Collaborate and co-operate with senior team to deliver a customer focused, cost effective and efficient Facilities Management Service at Calderdale Royal Hospital

Deliver a safe, happy & compliant hospital environment to provide the best possible patient experience. Being mechanically bias providing support to the estates team & working with the senior site bases

• Supervision of Maintenance Staff: Lead and manage a team of technicians, ensuring tasks are completed to the required standards and timelines.

• Plant Inspections and Repairs: Oversee the routine inspection, servicing, and repair of plant to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, hospital policies, and PFI contract requirements.

• Contractual Deliverables: Ensure that maintenance works are carried out according to the terms of the PFI contract, including response times and performance standards.

• Reporting and Documentation: Work with Equans site team to provide accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for audit and compliance purposes.

• Coordination with Hospital Staff: Liaise with hospital management and clinical teams to prioritize maintenance work and minimize disruption to hospital services.

• Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the use of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality service.

Complexity:

Maintain the operation of crucial systems within the hospital to maintain continuity for  the Clinical staff. Provide support Technical to direct reports working ensuring routine maintenance and regulatory compliance is carried out to a high standard. Provided support in planned shutdown of plant and participate in internal and 3rd party audits.

 

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Having a Mechanical bias (HVAC, Plumbing, Gas etc) trained to a minimum NVQ Level 3. Authorised Person position previously held or willing to take on roles.

Previously held a supervisory or team leader role. A background in Healthcare or PFI would be advantageous
