Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant / Stores Assistant to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package. 

What will you deliver?

  • Perform a variety of general maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of client facilities.

  • Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance tasks within your skillset to ensure efficient and timely repairs.

  • Work with suppliers to minimize costs while maintaining high standards of quality and value.

  • Assist other skilled trades in performing maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, and installations.

  • Conduct minor repairs to the building fabric, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, staff, and visitors.

  • Respond safely to the effects of adverse weather conditions, such as snow clearing, gritting, flooding, and high winds.

  • Undertake training to develop and maintain the skills required for the role.

  • Perform duties at various sites within the portfolio as required.

  • Ensure that all Health and Safety policies are followed across all sites.

  • Maintain good working relationships with clients and address their maintenance concerns promptly.

  • Keep all servicing records up to date and in compliance with statutory guidelines.

  • Assist the Store Coordinator on a part-time basis, including tasks such as ordering materials, stock taking, and equipment checks.

Who are we looking for?

  • It would be beneficial to the role and department if the individual had previous experience of building service systems, technical services provision and general maintenance however training will be provided.
  • Must have IT experience to support in the stores during periods of annual leave/sickness
  • Must be able to obtain a Disclosure Scotland at a Basic Level
