Equans is looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Mechanical-bias) to join our team in Tameside on a permanent basis for Tameside General Hospital. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
Equans are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Technician – Mechanical, based at Tameside General
Hospital, but may also infrequently be required to cover Salford Royal Hospital, the Multi-Skilled Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards at Tameside General Hospital. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in mechanical systems. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The Technician will have technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area and will form part of the out of hours on call rota.
Working hours are 37.5 hours per week. With a week about split working pattern – Week 1 0700am – 1500pm, Week 2 1000am – 1800pm
– Ensure workload is planned, delivered to specification and agreed service requirement.
– Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
– Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
– Install, maintain and repair plant equipment.
– Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
– Flexible working hours required.
– Administer and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
– Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, including sub-contractors management, completing all relevant permits.
– Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
– Full driving licence required
– At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of Equans in the workplace.
– Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
– Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager as required.
– Attend training courses funded for by Equans as required for business purposes.
– Train to become an Authorised Person/Responsible Person in relevant disciplines – (additional salary uplift awarded)

Impact:
The individual will play a vital role to Equans, working alongside other colleagues in the team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.

We are looking for a driven individual to add expertise and dimension to the maintenance team at Tameside General Hospital. They will demonstrate flexibility and efficiency in responding to changing business requirements and will establish good working relationships with other team members. The individual should have ambitions to progress within a company that offers plentiful opportunities to develop. Qualifications or Required Experience:
– ONC/C&G or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
– Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
– Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
– Ability to measure, works to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
– PFI/Healthcare experience would be an advantage. But further training and familiarisation will be offered for the right candidate.

Desirable Experience:
– Experience of working on or with AHU’s, Vent, FCU’s, LTHW, L8, Pumps, Pipework, Valves, and other mechanical systems.
– Use of a Building Management System (BMS)
– Pressure Systems
– PPM & Reactive Work
– Authorised Person experience
