EQUANS is looking for an O&M Technician to join our team in Redcar, North Yorkshire on a permanent, full time basis. On offer is a competitive salary, call out allowance and benefits package. 

 

What will you deliver? 

  • Carry out routine energy centre tasks, ensuring that all equipment within the control room and Site Battery Limits of the Contract is correctly operated, maximising plant operational efficiency and the safety of all personnel at all times.
  • Perform duties in compliance with all applicable Company and Site Safety Rules, procedures and guidelines.
  • To meet the EQUAN’s requirements and the delivery of the operational provisions of the Huntsman contract.
  • The role demands the highest standards of delivery, technical knowledge of boilers and Utilities Service operation, dynamic decision making and leadership to ensure Contractual targets are met.
  • Reporting to the EQUAN’s Contract Manager, the O&M technician shall undertake the role with minimum supervision, maintaining a flexible approach, focussing on the needs of the Client and effectively following the quality processes and procedures put in place, including pro-actively identifying areas for improvement.

Who are we looking for? 

 

  • Knowledge and preferably proven experience and delivery of process plant operations, engineering and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its impact on day to day operations
  • An understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and maintain a high standard of work quality
  • Minimum of BTEC National Certificate/City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent but preferred Higher National Certificate in a Mechanical craft discipline
  • NVQ Level 3 in a craft discipline or equivalent
  • Completed recognised relevant apprenticeship
  • A formal health and safety related qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Additional relevant qualifications as dictated by Site / Contract requirements to include Crane Supervisor, Lifting and Slinging Supervisor, Hot Working and Manual Handling Assessor, Scaffold Inspector
  • Gas System qualifications (desirable)
  • Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) trained (desirable)
  • Good fault finding and diagnostic skills
