General Overview

The Candidate must be fully Gas Safe Compliant Qualified. It would be preferable if the candidate had a Plumbing served apprenticeship. Experience in Repair and service in domestic properties is preferable.

  • Domestic Gas ACS Elements CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, MET1, CMDDA1

Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Technician with ventilation experience to join our estates team based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford.  This is a permanent full-time position working from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. 

 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Technical Services Manager
  • Act as Lead Technician for the site providing a thorough understanding of mechanical ventilation building services installation and maintenance techniques, including Medical Gas and F Gas.
  • Apply trade skills and experience, including one to one training to members of the team.
  • Ensure the satisfactory completion of statutory obligations and the completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works, all within the SLA and KPI’s applied to site.  
  • To be an Authorised Person for up to three disciplines.
  • Carry out maintenance/repair on mechanical ventilation services to plant and equipment across the site, including supervising both in-house staff and contractors
  • Carry out refurbishments and new works across the site all within KPI and SLA targets
  • Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a need for participation in the on call rota

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised Mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; full 18th Edition Electrical and F-gas qualification desirable
  • Must have a proven track record within maintenance / hard services
  • Will be the Lead Medical Gas AP and subject matter expert
  • Desirable to have prior experience in a hospital environment
  • Must be strongly Client focussed and able to take ownership of projects
  • Must have good IT skills with experience in the use of CAFM systems, word and excel

Mechanical Building Services Shift Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Shift Building Services Engineer to join our team providing facilities maintenance at Unviersity Hospital Lewisham in Ladywell. This is a permanent full-time shift position working 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week from 7am-7pm, days only.

The role:

  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • To provide technical engineering support for Hard FM Services and carry out preventative maintenance to deadlines plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
  • To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
  • To manage Contractors as necessary
  • Working 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week from 7am-7pm, days only.

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; plumbing experience essential
  • Experience in building services is required
  • Competent Person L8 experience; Asbestos Awareness; Fire Alarm Testing knowledge is desirable
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and to undertake training and qualify as an Authorised Person as required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills; IT Literate
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, formal training an advantage

M&E Shift Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an M&E Shift Engineer to join our maintenance team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford. This is a permanent full-time role working an average of 40 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern of days & nights.

 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager / M&E Supervisor
  • To deliver electrical/mechanical planned and reactive maintenance and scheduled installation works
  • To provide technical engineering support for the Hard FM Services department and carry out preventative maintenance to deadline plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
  • To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
  • To oversee specialist sub-contractors, and manage contractors as necessary, working to a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
  • To undertake AP/RP duties for the disciplines for which you have been appointed
  • To cover for other technicians as necessary
  • To participate in the on-call rota, and carry out overtime as required
  • Working an average of 40 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern of days and nights.

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
  • Must have extensive experience of building services in a maintenance role and knowledge of air handling plant and water hygiene is required
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous with knowledge of medical gases
  • Must be willing to attain cross skilling.  
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose technical faults
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal; IT literate
  • Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Must have a good understanding of health and safety best practise; formal training an advantage.

General Overview

To carry out the duties as a Plumber in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures.  To assist the Team in producing a quality product meeting the requirements of the contract and in a safe manner.  Adhere to all requirements set by SHEQ team, policy, and strategy.

Be part of an on-call Rota to cover Out of Hours breakdowns as required.

  • To complete high quality repair and maintenance works and deliver high levels of customer service on a daily basis

Heating Engineer

EQUANS are recruiting for a Heating Engineer to be based in Oldham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

To carry out the duties as a Heating Engineer in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures.  To assist the Team in producing a quality product meeting the requirements of the contract and in a safe manner.  Adhere to all requirements set by SHEQ team, policy, and strategy.

Ability to carry out servicing of gas appliances including boilers, fires, and cookers in a timely and safe manor. To carry out general breakdowns and have the ability diagnose and repair to achieve 1st time fix.  Be part of an on-call Rota to cover Out of Hours breakdowns as required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Carry out work in a safe manor on Servicing, breakdowns and installs.
  • Maintain and care for all company tools and calibrated equipment.
  • To use appropriate safety equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
  • To ensure areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the day.
  • If a van is allocated, to be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy.
  • To be responsible for holding keys for communal entrances, meter cupboards and allow access where appropriate.
  • Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc.
  • Material co-ordination and ordering
  • Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site-based documentation.
  • Use of a PDA or Tablet
  • Undertake any training required by the Business for your role.
  • Any other reasonable management request

Mechanical Building Services Shift Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Building Services Shift Engineer to join our maintenance team at North Middlesex University Hospital in Edmonton. This is a permanent full-time position working shifts 4 on 4 off, an average of 40 hours per week, days only from 0700 to 1900.

 

The role:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor
  • To provide technical engineering support within the Hard FM Services department by carrying out preventative maintenance to deadline plus maintain paperwork to support PPM activities
  • To respond to reactive and emergency faults and conduct reactive maintenance work to ensure compliance with KPI’s
  • To manage sub-contractors as necessary working to a safe system of work and permit-to-work system
  • To undertake AP/RP duties for the disciplines for which you have been appointed
  • Working shifts 4 on 4 off, an average of 40 hours per week, days only from 0700 to 1900 with a requirement to participate in the out of hours on call rota and be able to respond/attend site within one hour of the call

The person:

  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; AP in HV desirable
  • Experience in building services maintenance is essential
  • Willingness to attain cross skilling and IT Literate
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrate good planning, organising and prioritising skills
  • Ability to show examples of using initiative and judgement to resolve problems
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment an advantage
  • Must have a good understanding of health & safety best practice; formal training an advantage

Commercial Maintenance Plumber

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Maintenance Plumber to join our facilities team working on our Metropolitan Police South East London FM contract based in Lewisham.  This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1700.

Key activities:

  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • To provide the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of M&E plant and equipment across MET Police South East London sites 
  • To carry out the installation of new M&E equipment as required i.e. minor new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme
  • Investigate, trouble shoot and rectify defects for all M&E systems and associated plant / components 
  • Oversee/escort any specialist contractor works as required
  • Proactive identification of defects and faults outside of specialisation and escalate accordingly
  • Ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork 
  • Working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with participation in the on call rota and out of normal working hours activity.

Skills & qualifications:

  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience
  • Must be able to undertake unsupervised non-routine maintenance and complex repair/installation work
  • Good communication skills and customer focused with a proactive, flexible, can-do approach
  • Must be able to produce technical/incident reports
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Successful applicants will be subject to Metropolitan Police security vetting
  • Driving License essential

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team at Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre in Cambridge working 40 hours per week, shifts from 07:00 to 15:30 / 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday (alternating weekly).

Key activities:

  • Apply relevant trade skills to any allocated jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
  • Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance/repair or mechanical/electrical services to plant and equipment across the Site. Work alone or in a team carrying out refurbishments and new works across the Site
  • Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the Site
  • Carry out mechanical/electrical repairs and cleaning of mechanical components and equipment as necessary.
  • Undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for mechanical/electrical plant and systems as required
  • Required to attend training programmes to meet contract requirements and for self development purposes
  • Comply with Statutory Testing and Inspection Legislation (BS 7671)
  • Prepare pressure vessels for insurance inspections and carry out necessary repairs/testing
  • Maintain and carry out repairs on HVAC systems, gas appliances, Piped Medical Gas systems, steam plant/equipment and all other equipment in plant rooms, patient areas and other departments.
  • Working 40 hours per week from 07:00 to 15:30 / 14:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday (alternating weekly) with a requirement to participate in the on call rota.
