Multiskilled Plumbing Heating Engineer
EQUANS is looking for a Multiskilled Plumbing Engineer to join our team in Wakefield on a permanent basis at Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospital. This is a full-time role working 42 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and motivated Plumber/Heating Engineer for maintenance work across Burnley General Teaching Hospital to join a team of onsite engineers who will integrate into the technical team. The individual will have the desire to expand their professional qualifications portfolio, ensuring the contract always provides robust and reliable authorised / competent person cover for our client.
Based at primarily at Burnley General Teaching Hospital, the Plumber / Heating Engineer will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the hospitals. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing technical expertise in mechanical (Plumbing / Heating Systems) and water systems. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. The Engineer will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area and will form part of the out of hours on call rota (additional allowance paid for on call). Working hours are 40 hours per week.
Basic Duties will include:
1st Fix Reactive Response and Rectification duties – Including fault finding and resolution
2nd Fix Reactive Response– Providing support to colleague and technical advice to resolve open problems and encourage a learning culture within the technical team.
Planned Maintenance – Pre planned works within the Hospital to ensure contractual compliance, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Industry guidance and rectifying faults.
- Ensure workload is planned, delivered to customer specification and agreed service requirement.
- Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations, and helping us to achieve our No Life at Risk targets.
- Install commission and service plant and equipment.
- Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
- Flexible working hours required.
- Administer and complete relevant paperwork.
- Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
- Assist other members of the work force as required
- Willing to attend training in line with the business requirements and personal development
- At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of Cofely in the workplace.
- Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion
- Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager
Impact:
The individual will play a vital role in Equans, working alongside an already established technical team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
Experience
- Approved and formal apprenticeship served in relevant skill area or relevant and practical experience within a similar industry would be an advantage.
- Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Ability to work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams.
- PFI/Healthcare experience would be an advantage.
- Experience of working on or with, LTHW, TMV’s, Sentinel/Representative testing, Pipe work, Valves, Drainage, Potable Water Storage/Systems.

Key activities:
- Reporting to the Shift Lead / Operations Manager
- Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the site
- Carry out mechanical/electrical works as required i.e. allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new works, refurbishment and capital works replacement programme.
- Carry out mechanical/electrical repairs and cleaning of mechanical components and equipment

- Prepare pressure vessels for insurance inspections and carry out necessary repairs/testing.

- To ensure that PPM and Reactive tasks are attended to in accordance with the contract timescales at all times.

Skills, qualifications & experience:
- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 2 or 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; plumbing experience essential
- Desirable to hold some Electrical trade qualifications/18th Edition certification but not essential
- Must have a thorough understanding of engineering building services installation and maintenance techniques.
- Good knowledge of M&E testing, fault finding, maintenance, refurbishment and install.
- Must be able to work independently and when appropriate as part of a team.
- Willing to attain cross skilling
- Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose technical faults
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
- IT literate, and ambition for personal development

- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
- Must have extensive experience of building services in a maintenance role and knowledge of air handling plant and water hygiene is required
- Experience in a Healthcare environment is advantageous with knowledge of medical gases
- Must be willing to attain cross skilling.
- Ability to read technical drawings and diagnose technical faults
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal; IT literate
- Able to work on own initiative as well as within a team with a proactive, flexible, can-do attitude.

Mechanical Building Services Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with solid mechanical maintenance experience to join our estates team at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. This is a permanent full-time position working from 07:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
Key activities
- Reporting to the Technical Services Manager
- Act as Lead Technician for the site providing a thorough understanding of mechanical ventilation building services installation and maintenance techniques, including Medical Gas and F Gas.
- Apply trade skills and experience, including one to one training to members of the team.
- Ensure the satisfactory completion of statutory obligations and the completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works, all within the SLA and KPI’s applied to site.
- To be an Authorised Person for up to three disciplines.
- Carry out maintenance/repair on mechanical ventilation services to plant and equipment across the site, including supervising both in-house staff and contractors
- Carry out refurbishments and new works across the site all within KPI and SLA targets
- Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm with a requirement for participation in the on call rota
Skills, qualifications & experience
- Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience;
- Must have a proven track record within maintenance / hard services
- Must be strongly Client focussed and able to take ownership of projects
- Must have good IT skills with experience in the use of CAFM systems, word and excel

Key activities:
- Apply relevant trade skills to any allocated jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
- Work alone with minimum supervision or within a team to carry out maintenance/repair or mechanical/electrical services to plant and equipment across the Site. Work alone or in a team carrying out refurbishments and new works across the Site
- Responsible for the safe operation, planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems, associated plant/equipment installed throughout the Site
- Carry out mechanical/electrical repairs and cleaning of mechanical components and equipment as necessary.
- Undertake training and qualify as Authorised or Competent Person for mechanical/electrical plant and systems as required
- Required to attend training programmes to meet contract requirements and for self development purposes
- Comply with Statutory Testing and Inspection Legislation (BS 7671)

Multi Trade Plumber
Equans is looking for a Multi Skilled Plumber to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
This is a full time role working in Partnership with Birmingham City Council on their repairs and maintenance contract on social housing. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- To complete high quality repair and maintenance works and deliver high levels of customer service on a daily basis
- Complete plumbing, heating and multi skilled works in order to complete the job in one visit
- To work effectively and positively with the client, customers and stakeholders on a daily basis
- To effectively and proactively assist in supporting the team to achieve KPI’s
- To utilise personal communication and protection equipment effectively and responsibly including the Company’s Vehicle Communication and Tracking System

Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Technician with ventilation experience to join our estates team based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. This is a permanent full-time position working from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
The role:
- Reporting to the Technical Services Manager
- Act as Lead Technician for the site providing a thorough understanding of mechanical ventilation building services installation and maintenance techniques, including Medical Gas and F Gas.
- Apply trade skills and experience, including one to one training to members of the team.
- Ensure the satisfactory completion of statutory obligations and the completion of allocated maintenance, breakdown repairs, installation, new and refurbishment works, all within the SLA and KPI’s applied to site.
- To be an Authorised Person for up to three disciplines.
- Carry out maintenance/repair on mechanical ventilation services to plant and equipment across the site, including supervising both in-house staff and contractors
- Carry out refurbishments and new works across the site all within KPI and SLA targets
- Working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with a need for participation in the on call rota
The person:
- Must hold a recognised Mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; full 18th Edition Electrical and F-gas qualification desirable
- Must have a proven track record within maintenance / hard services
- Will be the Lead Medical Gas AP and subject matter expert
- Desirable to have prior experience in a hospital environment
- Must be strongly Client focussed and able to take ownership of projects
- Must have good IT skills with experience in the use of CAFM systems, word and excel
