EQUANS are recruiting for a Joiner to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £28,620 plus van and fuel card and benefits package.

General Overview

  • To undertake the duties/responsibilities as a Joiner to the standards set out by the contract. 
  • To carry out the duties as a Joiner in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Company policies and Procedures. 
  • To assist the Foreman in producing a quality product within the contract period. Understand, implement and adhere to EQUANS SHEQ requirements. 
  • To ensure you complete the full sequence of events on PDA and the completion of jobs for invoicing.
  • Efficient use of the Impact system.
  • To adhere to the Client contract KPI’s and, target dates and timeframes.
  • OOH and Standby participation is essential

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide a high-quality service to NIHE tenants, specifically within domestic properties that are either occupied or void.
  • To undertake all elements of 1st and 2nd fix Joinery, and where required undertake roof work.
  • Undertake where required other multiskilled duties.
  • To attend all relevant training courses, including all health and safety
  • To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures
  • To use protective equipment, substances and tools/equipment in accordance with instructions and training given
  • Assist with the adherence to the Company quality standards including:
  • Compliance with specification and SOR codes
  • Adherence to the sequence of events for each job on the PDA.
  • Ensure van stock is processed and managed accordingly
  • Ensure that your work is carried out the highest quality and within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ensure any additional work is captured and communicated to the relevant person, so that the company can invoice for additional work completed.
  • Compliant in timeframes allocated of jobs, ensure target dates are met,
  • Compliance with materials / workmanship schedules
  • Maintain and care for all company tools
  • To use appropriate safety equipment
  • To wear appropriate clothing / uniform
  • To ensure areas of work are left clean, tidy and safe at all times
  • To be responsible for and take due care of the company van in accordance with the company car policy
  • Liaison with the client, consultants, contract administrator, head office etc
  • Be responsible for your own safety and all other around you
  • Make every effort to attend mandatory courses relevant to your role
  • Material co-ordination and organisation
  • Ensure accurate / timely completion of any relevant site based documentation
  • To oversee/assist in the training of apprentices as required

EQUANS is recruiting for a Joiner to join our team in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary per annum and benefits package.

Shift Pattern:  

Monday - Friday 8am until 4pm

What will you deliver?

The post holder will have the required maintenance skills to ensure the safe and continuous operation of the internal and external fabric. Working within the fabric team and reporting to the fabric supervisor and fabric manager. Operate and maintain a physical environment in which healthcare can be delivered to the patient. The main elements being the maintenance of both, building fabric and services e.g. external and internal finishes, fittings and fixtures. The provision of a project management service to Consort Healthcare from initial brief and preparation of contract documentation through tendering, contract supervision to completion. Works ranging from minor alterations to major refurbishments.

The Multiskilled Joiner is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of joinery components within residential and commercial properties managed by the company. This role combines expertise in joinery with skills in related trades such as minor plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance tasks to ensure properties are structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and functional.

What will you deliver?

  •  Measure, cut, and assemble wood, composite, or metal components to construct or repair doors, windows, cabinets, and other joinery items.

Multi Skilled Technician (Building Fabric and Joinery)

EQUANS is looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Fabric & Joinery) to join our team in Blackburn on a permanent basis at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview: 
Based at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital but may also be required to cover other sites when necessary, the Multi-Skilled BF Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within Hospital environment. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing expertise in Building Fabric and Joinery maintenance. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. 
The Technician will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area.
- Assist with Lifecycle and major project schemes for pricing and refurbishment 
- Purchase/source replacement materials to ensure stock levels remain sufficient.
- Support other Multi Skilled Technicians to enable all PPM’s/Reactive works to be completed
- Flexible working hours required.
- Administer and complete relevant paperwork.
- Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
- Full driving licence required
- At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of Equans
- Ensure that all issues are reported to the Team Leader/Technical Services Manager

1. The post holder will provide an effective and efficient maintenance repair and improvement service to a high quality on a full range of building structures fabric, fixtures, finishes, services and civil engineering works to the above stated properties within their trade discipline and other disciplines within their capability, and will involve the use of instrumentation, plant equipment, tools, machines.
2. Carry out maintenance work to floors, flooring, cladding, doors, fire seals, ironmongery, closers, mortice and digital locks, windows, roof lights, hand rails, grab rails, wall protections, shelves, furniture, within a safe environment and to a high quality across the full range of building fabric.
3. Manufacture and fitting of various support systems, building cupboards, benches, carrying out modifications to same; assembly of flat pack furniture, manufacture of unique furniture items, including workshop setting out and some design, modify and manufacture service panels for sanitary fittings. Carry out key cutting and have skill and ability to gain access to locked rooms and premises without damaging doors, in order to repair locks, etc. work on uPVC, metal and timber doors/windows.
4. Structural works and installation of walls, doors, studded partitions, mirrors, sanitary fittings, strengthening cores, stairs, skirting, curtain rails and tracks, ceiling grids, ironmongery, bath panels, electronic door closers and locks.
5. Civil engineering works i.e., external fences, gates, out buildings, signage, forming of minor concrete/ tarmac works for roads, footpaths, duct ways, car parks, drains, etc.
6. Work in accordance with the requirements of statute, technical guidance and codes of practice.
7. Be conversant with the relevant latest edition of building regulations, health and safety regulations, in relation to the works being carried out.
8. Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with HTM Procedures and schedules.
9. Where appropriate be knowledgeable in relation to all site Engineering and Building services. Have a working knowledge of domestic potable and non-potable systems including all maintenance and testing regimes in connection with the Prevention of Legionella Policy.
10. Carry communication devices to provide response to any incident that the TSM/ TSS may wish to redirect the member of staff and to any emergency situation that may arise.
11. Have the ability to interpret technical detailed manuals, fault diagnose and repair building facilities, assist in commissioning, problem solve new services and communicate technical knowledge to others.
12. Respond to and liaise with members of the Trust’s staff who request assistance
13. Be able to drive appropriate vehicles for transporting personnel or equipment.
14. Be prepared to work in hazardous areas, confined spaces and on contaminated external and internal fabric, (i.e. Mortuary, theatres and laboratories) taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment in accordance with policy and safe working procedures i.e., the post holder will conduct risk assessments and complete action / treatment plans for all tasks.
15. Identify and prioritise own workload and actively participate in the operation of the performance management information system, including the completion of all paperwork required by the work order in a timely manner.
16. Ensure the security of all plant, equipment and buildings under the jurisdiction of the Maintenance Department.
17. Liaise with the Maintenance Manager / Senior Estates Officer regarding plant or equipment failure and to request in writing the supply of goods and/or services with reference to manufacturers manuals etc. Maintain stock levels for spares and equipment.
18. Be fully conversant with all policies and procedures including: Fire Safety, Infection Control, Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH Regulations and Manual Handling guidance and safe systems of work
19. Use and be competent in the use of all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.
20. Undertake inspections for pre-installations and investigates services which may be required for new equipment and carry out minor installation improvement works.
21. Notify immediately the TSM/ TSS or equivalent of any problems within the hospitals that may be of danger to staff and members of the public. To ensure that accident forms are completed and cooperate with the investigation of any incident or untoward occurrence.
22. The post holder will be managed rather than supervised and therefore should be capable of making decisions.
23. The post holder must notify the TSM/ TSS of any members of staff, patient or visitor who may contravene hospital regulations.
24. Supervise, communicate with and develop Maintenance Assistants, and assess/evaluate the quality of work. The post holder shall also support the provision of professional supervision, induction and training of new starters, apprentices and Maintenance staff as part of a personal development programme.

The individual will play a vital role to Equans, working alongside an already established technical team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
Essential:

Fabric Technician

Equans is looking for a Fabric Technician to join our team at Tameside and Salford Hospitals in Salford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview: 
Equans are recruiting for a Building Fabric Technician, based at Salford Royal 
Hospital, but may also infrequently be required to cover Tameside General Hospital, the Building Fabric Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards at Salford Royal Hospital. They will provide guidance to others on site, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in building fabrics and joinery. Ensure appropriate and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
Working hours are 37.5 hours per week. 0800 - 1600
- Ensure workload is planned, delivered to specification and agreed service requirement.
- Plan, prioritise and resource projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations.
- Install, maintain and repair equipment.
- Diagnose, fault-find, commission and monitor facility performance, through PPM programme, identifying any additional works required.
- Flexible working hours required.
- Administer and complete relevant paperwork in a timely manner.
- Understand and meet ongoing customer requirements, develop effective working relationships with business partners, including sub-contractors management, completing all relevant permits.
- Fair, consistent and courteous attitude in all dealings at all levels.
- Full driving licence required.
- At all times maintain a smart appearance and professional manner that is representative of Equans in the workplace.
- Ability to work under pressure, take ownership of problems and deal with them to their conclusion.
- Ensure that all issues are reported to the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager as required.
- Attend training courses funded for by Equans as required for business purposes.
- Train to become an Authorised Person in relevant disciplines – (additional salary uplift awarded)

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Desirable Experience:

As an effective member of the Hard Services Team, you will be focused on customer care with a “can do” attitude with the flexibility and adaptability to work within the team in a changing business environment.  Duties include providing a wide variety of skills on site. General Overview

  • To ensure areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the day.
