M&E Technician

EQUANS is looking for an M&E Technician to join our team within Embedded Energy within Central London.

This position is for an M&E LV/HV Bias Technician for a prestigious long term energy supply contract in London.  This site involves the supply of heat and electricity to a range of consumers in London from two Energy Centres.  The Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of boilers and electrical generation distribution equipment which consists of large scale HTHW boilers, 11kV electrical generating plant.

The candidate must have previous experience in the knowledge and management of LV distribution systems and of the associated LV safety document control systems. The role would also require electrical qualifications. A good understanding of operations and maintenance, heating plant and distribution systems on a commercial / industrial level is required as well as practical experience with IT related monitoring systems.

What will you deliver?  

  • Have a good understanding of the LV/HV networks
  • Maintain health and safety documentation and records to the highest standard
  • Ensure PPMs and reactive jobs are closed promptly to allow for timely processing and reporting
  • Will review Permit to Work Systems, and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements including writing and application of risk assessments and method statements. Issue Permits to Work when required
  • Project a professional image of the EQUANS Group at all times to external and internal customers, this is to include clear channels of communication
  • Will be required to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Line Management - this may include occasional works at other locations.

Who are we looking for? 

  • C&G Electrical Theory & Installation; C&G test & Inspection 2391
  • Fault-finding and practical skills
  • Experience in electrical generation - essential
  • Experience in large commercial / industrial boiler plant and associated equipment
  • Experience in overhaul of pumps, valves and pipe work ideal but not essential.
  • Experience in Confined Spaces ideal but not essential
  • LV/HV experience - essential
  • Experience in Confined Spaces ideal but must be willing to be trained in this aspect.
  • Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team.
  • Experience in use of Microsoft office package including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Experience of CAFM systems for maintenance

HV Electrical Technician

EQUANS is looking for a HV Electricial Technician to join our team at the Leeds Generating Station Complex on a permanent, full time basis. On offer is a competitive salary of up to £46,000 and benefits package. 

The Electrical Technician must fully understand the normal operations of the plant and be conversant with the individual systems which make process safety.

 

What will you deliver? 

  • Must be trainable to High Voltage Standards,
  • Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs all Electrical, pneumatic, steam raising, chilled and cooling water and electrical generating equipment and systems used for the generating complex safe operation,
  • Being able to accurately measure equipment, with the correct test equipment provided,
  • Be able to understand P &ID’s, Schematics, Single Line Diagrams and Maintenance Manuals and trace out and test Electrical systems to locate defective parts,
  • Must be able to fault find in a systematic manner,
  • Removes defective Electrical equipment from system, repair, and refit Electrical components into system,
  • Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in Electrical, pneumatic, steam raising, chilled and cooling water and electrical generating equipment systems,
  • Maintain all documentation and records to the highest standard,
  • Ensure any work tasks are closed promptly to allow for timely processing and reporting,
  • Have a thorough understanding on the Site Permit to Work Systems, LV Permit to Work and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements including writing and application of Risk Assessments and Method Statements,
  • Be a source of site reference for all Electrical enquiries to support Senior Managers,
  • Carry out Electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance activities on the site,
  • Carry out Electrical Reactive works on the site,
  • Must be conversant in a Computer Maintenance Management System,
  • Capable of sourcing and purchasing parts and equipment for plant operations
  • Manage site spares/consumables for all Electrical equipment.
