Compliance Lead

EQUANS is looking for a Compliance Lead to join our team based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, dependant upon skills and experience as well as benefits package. 

 

As a member of the Estates Technical Team, the Compliance Lead will assist the Technical and Compliance Manager and act as part of a team responsible for ensuring compliance with operational and contractual requirements. Responsible for owning and maintaining the estates technical records and roles and responsibilities matrix to ensure continued ownership of duty. To manage and develop the department’s internal audit programme and support the Estates department on matters of compliance for external audits. The post holder will perform the role as Quality Manager for the estates CAFM system and monitoring all statutory compliance thereof.

What will you deliver? 

  • Build and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with members of the team and colleagues within Equans Hard and Soft services, Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust and The Hospital Company (THC).
  • Work as part of the Estates management team, providing a high-quality service.
  • Priorities enquiries and interpret a range of options for action or referral to the technical team or more senior management.
  • Ensure all outstanding actions are managed appropriately, with remedial actions logged, annotated and closed to maintain statutory compliance.
  • Assist the Training Co-ordinator in the delivery of the departments statutory and mandatory training.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for Audits / safety critical meetings.
  • Any other relevant tasks as directed by the Technical and Compliance Manager.

Who are we looking for? 

 

  • Relevant compliance qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
  • Successful track record of planning and actively delivering results.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong time management skills and an ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, multi-tasking skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Previous experience of working in Facilities Management desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience of working as part of a team but also able to self-manage and motivate to drive continued improvement.

This role includes a Basic DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential.

Legal Counsel

EQUANS is looking for a Legal counsel to join our team in bevis marks London on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

Equans UK&I has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel within its Places and Communities  (“P&C”) division. P&C is a division of Equans UK&I which offers refurbishment housing services to a broad range of public and private sector clients; and sustainable energy management.  This role reports directly into the Head of Legal for the P&C division. You will also work closely with the P&C legal and business teams especially business development, commercial and senior management and externally with counterparty legal advisers, Equans UK&I’s external legal advisers, contract counterparties and customers. You will be required to provide timely, high quality, practical and commercially focused legal advice, balancing legal risk with the commercial needs of the business.

What will you deliver? 

 

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of projects ensuring compliance with applicable law.
  • Reviewing, negotiating and/or drafting agreements and conducting contract negotiations with project counterparties primarily for construction, refurbishment and related services.
  • Supporting on commercial and contractual matters for tenders, projects, variations and on-going contractual and operational matters.
  • Assisting on the governance of transactions at local and Equans’ group level.
  • Working closely with colleagues throughout the Equans’ group and with customers.
  • Managing external legal resource as required.
  • Assisting in developing and delivering training on legal matters for colleagues across the Equans’ business.

Who are we looking for? 

Essential: Experience, Knowledge, Personal Specification and Qualifications

 

  • UK (or common law equivalent) qualified solicitor or barrister with ideally 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience.  We will be flexible depending on the quality of experience.
  • Experience in both private practice and in-house roles preferred but not essential
  • We will be flexible depending on the quality of experience
  • Understanding of the contractual framework surrounding construction projects within the UK construction market including experience of negotiating and agreements based on industry standard forms in particular the JCT suite of contracts and NEC.
  • Experience of public procurement preferred.

Compliance Coordinator

EQUANS is looking for a Compliance Coordinator to join our team based in Stoke-on-Trent on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £23,800 - £24,500, dependant upon skills and experience as well as benefits package. 

 

Equans is one of the leading Facilities Management service providers, delivering a full range of property management services to the public and private sector.

The Regional Operations Centre (ROC) in Stoke provides helpdesk and business support services to a wide range of facilities management contracts. The Compliance Co-ordinator is expected to deliver excellent administration skill, including email and admin. You will respond to, plan and organise the full life cycle of planned maintenance works through to job completion, utilising the CAFM system (Maximo). This will include planning and dispatching of Planned Maintenance works to a number of engineers, sub-contractors and site managers across various locations, ensuring all are completed within contractually defined SLA’s and providing administrative support where appropriate.  You will work closely with the team, but be expected to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative.

The ROC is a key service in ensuring the effective delivery of facilities management services to a wide range of contracts within the education, healthcare, public and leisure sectors. As first point of contact for all FM requirements, the Support Centre has to deliver high quality, responsive, flexible and effective services at all times.

What will you deliver? 

  • Provide a friendly and professional point of contact for the Operations Team and Sub Contractors for any queries or concerns.
  • Interpret and log data, inputting details into an in-house system, providing and tracking of work on a regular basis understanding of the status of the work and ensure SLA’s are met.
  • Liaise with wider team members to ensure the best resolution, consistent with the contract.
  • Completing all administration tasks that relate to the contact, including assigning contract colleagues and sub-contractors to work orders, purchasing and finance tasks.
  • Liaise with relevant Contract staff and subcontractors in relation to all aspects of service requests and that rensure required information is returned in a timely manner. Respond to queries, amend data and re-issue tasks as required.
  • Carry out monitoring of CAFM (Maximo) data to ensure that Helpdesk work orders have been accurately created, assigned, prioritised and categorised in line with contractual KPI's and SLA's.
  • Support the planned maintenance programme by scheduling activities for engineers, sub-contractors and site managers.
  • Comply with company procedures to ensure that all risks relating to safety, health, environment and quality are effectively managed through the use of risk assessments, PPE, training and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
