Accounts Payable Team Lead

EQUANS is looking for an Accounts Payable Team Lead to join our team based in Quorum Business Park, Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

 

You will lead a team in delivering an effective, efficient, best in class procure to pay service including all aspects of invoice processing and recording of financial transactions, accounts payable activities in a high-volume transaction services environment and in line with agreed SLAs.

As a member of our Shared Services team, you will have the ability to work flexibly from our brand-new office space at the Quorum Business Park for 2 days each week, with 3 days at home. What will you deliver? 

  • Lead, manage and support the Accounts Payable team ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.
  • Oversee, review and authorise the payment of non-PO invoice payments.
  • Manage the OCR solution including appropriate levels of validation are carried out on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all invoices are processed in line with Service Level Agreement and maintained below a specified level.
  • Manage the submission of aged invoices with suppliers to ensure good housekeeping is in place.
  • Keep abreast of all relevant legislation in relation to the Accounts Payable service.
  • Ensure there is daily investigation into issues/quality errors in relation to invoice processing.
  • Manage and resolve queries in line with SLAs and communicating with key stakeholders where necessary.
  • Ensure all risk is managed in line with INCOME controls and other risks identified.
  • Comply with finance processes, controls and regulatory framework – always.  Ensure areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted to management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Identify training & development needs for the team.
  • Encourage cross training & development.

Junior Finance Business Partner

The key purpose of a Junior Finance Business Partner is to work alongside the Finance Business Partners to support the Embedded Energy business leaders to deliver profitable and sustainable growth for Equans. The Junior Finance Business Partner is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the financial reports and underlying financial transactions.

What will you deliver?

  • Manage the accuracy of the financial records
  • Assist in the production of the monthly and weekly reporting, and ad hoc reporting requirements that may arise.
  • Assist in the production of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Forecasting
  • Assists the Finance Business Partners with developing financial controls across the team including balance sheet reviews, debtors / cash collection, unbilled analysis, Timesheet management & Analysis, Overtime reporting, ETC management, and journal reviews to ensure that all financial accounting guidelines are being followed
  • Project profitability analysis

Who are we looking for?

  • Must be working towards an appropriate professional qualification for the role ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Ideally experience working in a fast paced Finance organisation, preferably within a similar industry
  • Experience in a similar role within a multi-site business is desirable
  • Commercial acumen, as well as a strong understanding of the relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers

Management Accountant

Equans is a renowned energies & services contractor and a proud member of the Bouygues global industrial group. Our expertise spans the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure worldwide.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Commercial team  on a 12 month fixed-term contract based out of our office at Addenbrooke's Treatment Centre in Cambridge. The Management Accountant will be responsible to assist the Commercial Finance Manager with business partnering and management and control of this Hard FM contract.

This position also offers a great opportunity for candidates who are still looking to complete their ACCA or CIMA qualification; we will endeavour to provide full support in this area.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the production and management of monthly financial results (P&L and balance sheet). Leading, with input from relevant budget holders, the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the contract(s) and risk analysis
  • Presentation of meaningful trends and variance analysis to enable stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • The production and analysis of indicators based on all business areas, such as invoicing, debt, personnel, purchasing, allocations, productivity, and stock control, and notify managers of trends
  • Preparation of the monthly core service fee invoice and other invoices based on contractual information and operational records on non-core activity
  • Monitoring and chasing of debt with clients with a view to optimising cashflows in accordance with contractual arrangements
  • Leading the preparation and review of the pricing of variation quotations prepared for the client.  Driving initiatives for income maximisation and economies in cost
  • Reviewing and driving the contract for general auditing of financial and non-financial obligations as well as for responding to operational queries
  • To produce the year end the statutory audit justification as required
  • Working 40 hours per week from 08:45 to 17:45, Monday to Friday

The person:

  • Ideally CIMA or ACCA part-qualified or working towards it with proven experience in management accounts
  • Financial diligence and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and take initiative to work independently
  • A professional level of self-management and desire to get things done/progressed
  • Strong communication skills with confidence to question assumptions
  • Flexible approach and willingness to travel to multi sites
  • Excellent Excel skills, SAP knowledge is an advantage

Finance Business Partner

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our team working flexibly under a hybrid model both in the office and at home. The will sits within our street lighting and highways electrical infrastructure business 'Connected Cities'.  

The Finance Business Partner will be responsible for supporting the General Manager, in providing a full management accounting services and delivering professional, timely and accurate financial reporting & forecasting service to our Connected Cities business unit. The role will be based in our Sittingbourne office.

Key activities: 

  • Produce timely, accurate, and compliant production of monthly management accounts pack
  • Monitor, track and evaluate the operational expenses in the month and recommend efficiencies where possible
  • Prepare and post monthly journals including accruals & prepayments
  • To perform forecasts, budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Support operational management with detailed contract reviews including cost analysis
  • Oversee the preparation and consolidation of schedules for year-end audit purposes
  • ensure invoices are raised in accordance with contracts and company policies
  • To manage debt collection, WIP recovery and review of BIA
  • Oversee the rolling cash flow reporting and evaluation 

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Previous experience with operational management accounts
  • Must be able to evaluate complex data and have sound problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and work unsupervised
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Must be willing to travel to multi sites to support operational teams
  • Ideally CIMA or ACCA part-qualified (or working towards)

Payroll Manager

Equans is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team in Newcastle Upon Tyne on a 12 month FTC basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of effective Payroll and Benefit services by driving continuous improvement initiatives, through innovation and best practice to deliver quality, compliant procedures.

The role will be responsible for leading a team of 10, supporting the Equans UK Business Unit key stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational people initiatives that maximise the performance of the Business.

What will you deliver?

  • Support the delivery of the UK Business Unit strategy and vision
  • Responsible for the delivery of a great employee experience through Payroll services to agreed SLA’s & KPI’s relating Payroll legislation and internal policies.
  • Create a culture that promotes high levels of employee and customer engagement through inspiring leadership and customer focus.
  • Identify and drive team development to ensure future fit skills and team engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement liaising productively with SAP Service Delivery team to assess, prioritise and deliver ongoing system improvements driven by legislation and efficiency levers.
  • Responsibility to deliver Payroll agreed budget, whilst supporting cost reductions across the UK Shared Services overall budget.
  • Ensure adequate process controls and segregation of duties are in place, satisfying all Internal and External audit standards applicable to Equans
  • Authorise BACS payments to employee’s and third parties in line with agreed timetable.
  • Ensure all process documentation/operating procedures are up to date.
  • Provide expert guidance on payroll processes, legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate all payroll and pension year end activities.
  • Handle escalations through to resolution.
  • Support contract mobilisations and demobilisations to ensure effective, accurate timely transition.
