Lead Finance Business Partner

Equans is looking for a Lead Finance Business Partner to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary banding of £60,000-£65,000, dependent upon skills and experience, car allowance and benefits package.

 

The Lead Finance Business Partner is responsible for leading a team of Finance Analysts/Management Accountants in addition to the management of the Finance Business Partner, and deliver a professional, timely and accurate financial reporting & forecasting, for a range of business units within Sustainable FM. This is a broad role, which encompasses financial management, contractual support, risk and team management.  This will also include, direct self delivery of the above for a range of business units.

The post holder will cover a portfolio of contracts in and around London. Will lead a small team of Qualified & part-qualified finance professionals including managers and review their work. Structure, motivate, coach and develop your team.

What will you deliver?

  • Take responsibility for the production and management of timely/accurate/compliant monthly financial results (P&L and balance sheet), for each of the service lines within your scope. Manage the forecasting exercises (budget and re-forecasts). Monitor, track and analyse the operational expenses in the month and recommend efficiencies where possible.
  • Take responsibility for the production of key financial indicators. Analyse and provide recommendations to site management, to optimise the Company’s position (i.e. supplier payments, debtor days, etc)
  • Presentation of meaningful trends and variance analysis to enable your customers to make informed decisions. Provision of internal and statutory audit justifications as required
  • Evaluate and challenge - using appropriate data and analytics - the budgeting and operations of each site and service line: resource levels, performance vs. output specifications and suitable benchmarks
  • Ensure that support to general managers is optimised to minimise performance penalties. Analyse root causes /recommendations
  • Liaise with relevant staff to improve paper flow and cash flow, making suggestions where appropriate
  • Being the first point of contact for the business when out of the ordinary requests / issues arise to ensure proper delivery to requests as well as ensuring appropriate level of understanding in the task is established.
  • Proactively analyse/audit contractual compliance and risks, so that to provide sound support to site management, and ensure that the business is gaining full entitlement of contractual arrangements. This can involve meeting with external clients, when required
  • Monitor the monthly service fee and variations and draft contractual claims for each service when commercial shortfalls are apparent
  • Provide support to your manager and business leaders when tendering for new opportunities (pricing, modelling, etc.)
  • Take an active part in the optimisation of our management systems and reporting suite – to provide meaningful financial information to our customers, in the most effective way. Lead transversal projects
  • Identify improvement areas and generate ideas from your team, and implement these ideas
  • To continuously identify, devise and delivery improvements on an incremental basis

  • A qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with strong industry experience in business partnering with stakeholders at all levels.

Financial Reporting Accountant

Equans is looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join us on a permanent basis, located at our offices in Newcastle Upon Tyne or Rotherham. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

This is a key financial role covering the Equans UKBU perimeter, delivering specialist technical accounting the providing support to lead and manage a team in the delivery of statutory accounts and audit reporting as well as the management of technical accounting queries and changes to policies/IFRS standards.  

What will you deliver?

  • Provision of technical accounting support to the Business, demonstrating sound knowledge of the application of IFRS, addressing queries on accounting methodology, challenging proposed accounting and ultimately ensuring appropriate application of Group financial accounting policies, preparing technical accounting papers as audit evidence where necessary;
  • Review of a) new accounting standards, determining impact, adoption approach and any training needs, as well as b) existing UKBU accounting policies to ensure continued adherence and relevance and consistency throughout the UKBU;
  • Delivery of technical financial project work e.g. production of completion accounts, balance sheet reconciliation tidy-up, improvement of internal control processes, procedures and controls etc;
  • Supporting to lead, manage and develop the External Financial Reporting Team in the delivery of high-quality external reporting including the production of annual statutory accounts to statutory deadlines;
  • Managing an operational level relationship with the auditors, ensuring the quarterly, interim and annual audit requirements progress to agreed timelines and conclude smoothly;
  • Production of industry specific regulatory reporting including Cabinet Office submissions, Office of National Statistics reporting and IAS 19 pension reporting;
  • Assistance in the scrutiny of journal entries to ensure the source data is as accurate as possible prior to the audit process commencing;
  • Planning and execution of step plans in relation to the liquidation of surplus entities within the UK BU, performed in accordance with UK law and UK GAAP;

Financial Reporting Accountant

Equans is looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join us on a 12 month FTC at our offices in Newcastle Upon Tyne or Rotherham. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

To work in a team of qualified and part qualified accountants to support the delivery of timely, robust, high-quality statutory and group reporting, ensuring that all processes are as efficient as possible, highlighting areas for improvement where relevant.

What will you deliver?

  • Work both independently and in a collaborative team environment to deliver business reporting requirements – to include statutory, Group and ad hoc reporting.
  • Produce high quality statutory and group reporting deliverables.
  • Have good technical knowledge of IFRS and its application within the EQUANS business referring to senior management for clarity if in doubt.
  • Challenge existing ways of working and develop a continuous improvement culture; and
  • Deliver best in class customer service to internal and external stakeholders/customers.
  • Deliver accurate and timely statutory and group financial reporting and other ad-hoc deliverables for the Equans UK Services and certain corporate entities.
  • Produce the financial statements for assigned legal entities.
  • Perform technical reviews of draft statutory accounts.
  • Assist the team to ensure the accounts progress through audit in a timely manner.
  • Monitor developments in accounting standards to ensure that all statutory reporting is prepared in accordance with IFRS and FRS 101.
  • Provide technical accounting input relating to internal Group reorganisations as required.
  • Apply group financial accounting policy and procedures and contribute to their development as and when required.
  • Deliver in line with statutory and group monthly and quarterly reporting timetables.
  • Liaise with Tax, Treasury, Sector leads, internal and external auditors, as appropriate.
  • Comply with new accounting standards and refer to senior management for clarity if in doubt.
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of own technical knowledge and continuing professional development.

Accounts Payable Team Lead

What will you deliver? 

  • Lead, manage and support the Accounts Payable team ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts payable process.

  • Ensure all invoices are processed in line with Service Level Agreement and maintained below a specified level.

Payroll Manager

Equans is looking for a Payroll Manager to join our team in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of effective Payroll and Benefit services by driving continuous improvement initiatives, through innovation and best practice to deliver quality, compliant procedures.

The role will be responsible for leading a team of 10, supporting the Equans UK Business Unit key stakeholders to deliver strategic and operational people initiatives that maximise the performance of the Business.

What will you deliver?

  • Support the delivery of the UK Business Unit strategy and vision
  • Responsible for the delivery of a great employee experience through Payroll services to agreed SLA’s & KPI’s relating Payroll legislation and internal policies.
