HVAC Engineer

EQUANS is looking for a HVAC Engineer on a permanent basis. This would be based in Liverpool working for our Knowsley Schools contract. This would include working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
• Accountable for ensuring all Spaces, Environmental/Temperature Control rooms and equipment are available for end users, keeping down times to an absolute minimum during breakdowns.
• Fault find on all A/C units, refrigeration systems, chiller plant and AHU’s across the contract.
• Ensure the site’s F-Gas logbook is kept up to date, and all losses, recoveries and additions are recorded appropriately.  
• Be responsible for the maintenance and operational upkeep of portable and fixed air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. 
• Plan, oversee and work with all subcontractors during service visits associated with HVAC systems.
• Recover, repair, pressure test, vacuum dehydrate, charge and re-commission A/C units as required. 
• Adaptable and able to undertake any other engineering task as required by the Account Manager or Technical Services Manager.
• Ensure that PPM and Reactive jobs are processed. 
• Defects are diagnosed and reported.
• Faults are repaired in a timely manner and in budget.
• Complete daily job sheets and PPM logs via PDA/tablet in real time using CAFM systems.
• Responsibilities will also include being a member of the on-call rota for the contract.

Client / Customer
•Respond in a timely manner to verbal and written requests
•Coordinate quotations with the contract manager
•Use preferred suppliers where possible
 
Helpdesk - PPM 
•Support the Helpdesk: in servicing and breakdowns 
•Be available for out of hours call-out support for the contract

Compliance 
•Achieve appointment as Refrigeration Responsible and Competent Person
•Complete all operational Logs, F-gas reports and job sheets via CAFM and compliance systems
•Production of information for quotations
•Production and collation of Condition / Dilapidation Reports
•Complete report accident, near misses returns in a timely manner
•Ensure the site supervisor is informed immediately if dangerous circumstances occur
•Completion of electronic reports for compliance

SHEQ
•Ensure you work to company health and safety policy
•Ensue PPE is safe to use
•Ensure your test equipment is within calibration 
•Ensure you follow Method Statements & Risk Assessments for all works

Impact:
Working to high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable air conditioning engineer who can work on own initiative or within a team environment. Produce high quality reports of their findings. The role will involve being the face of Equans, so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others is required.
•Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations within the School Buildings..
•Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place.
•Issuing of relative working permits.
•Carry out repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
•Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment.
•Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilization of plant and equipment
•Interrogation of operational information systems to support daily operations as well as fault diagnosis
•Complete the relevant paperwork and report diligently.
•Any other relevant duties that may be required, some of which may be outside normal working hours.

Qualifications or Required Experience:
•Recognized EITB or CITB apprenticeship or other similar approved training or further education qualifications in an appropriate discipline

•Fully conversant with all major manufacture’s systems and equipment
•18th Edition
•Fault-finding and practical skills
•Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team
•Very strong Excel and IT skills
•Driving License essential
•Ability to pass enhanced DBS checks due to the nature of the sites

Mobile Water Treatment Technician

Equans is looking for a Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 1) to join our team in The South of England. The ideal location to be based will be able to cover from Reading down to Hampshire, into London and the South East. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week. What will you deliver?  

  • Representing EQUANS Water Compliance as a Water Treatment Technician to execute the self-delivery of all Water Treatment services across the South and South East of the UK
  • As a Tier 1 Water Treatment Technician - You will encompass Tier 1 (Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans, Cooling Tower Clean and Disinfections, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling)
  • Carry out PPM service visits using appropriate tools and systems
  • Ensure all site L8 logbooks where acting as the Primary Technician are in date and accurate
  • Complete work reports either via a day works sheet or Planon in a timely manner

Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer

Equans is looking for a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team covering London and the Home Counties. This is a permanent full-time role, working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £45,000 per annum, a company vehicle and benefits package.
 

What will you deliver?

  • Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with A/C units, refrigeration systems, and chiller plant equipment across the site
  • Maintenance & Operation: Maintain and ensure the operational efficiency of chillers, cold rooms, freezers, air conditioning systems (VAV, VRV), cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, water treatment systems, and building management systems
  • F-Gas Logbook Management: Maintain an up-to-date F-Gas logbook, accurately recording all losses, recoveries, and additions in compliance with regulations
  • Leak Checks & GWP Monitoring: Conduct regular leak checks and ensure that GWP (Global Warming Potential) and CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) emissions are calculated and documented
  • Equipment Servicing: Oversee and perform recovery, repair, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, recharging, and re-commissioning of A/C units and refrigeration systems
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Plan and manage service visits with subcontractors for maintenance and repairs of refrigeration systems
  • On-Call Support: Participate in on-call duties as part of the maintenance rota to ensure continuous operation of critical systems

HVAC Engineer

EQUANS is looking for a HVAC Engineer to join our team in Hunterston, West Kilbride on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview: 

The individual will play a vital role in Equans, working alongside an already established Hard Services team to ensure that the operations are legally and contractually compliant and represent excellence in service delivery. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a positive set of behaviours and a flexible approach to ensure contract compliance.

Impact: 

Our HVAC engineers are responsible for ensuring the scheduled PPM is carried out in accordance with set schedules provided, reacting to emergent defects and failures, and delivering installation and modifications works.

You will be responsible for attending start of shift briefs, ensuring you read and understand all correct Risk Assessments & Method Statements as well as site safety documentation.

Complexity: 

•Carry out PPMs in accordance with set schedules and feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner during and on completion of execution week.

•During PPM, ensure all defects, failures and observations are feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner so that they can be actioned.

•Conduct reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis on all report issues and help desk requests.

•Deliver installation, upgrades, and modifications of site AC systems to support site office & welfare refurbishment programmes.

•Client Quality Assurance procedures and behaviours are to be adhered to at all times.

•When attending a work face, conduct a dynamic risk assessment, ensuring the work pack is satisfactory for delivery of the task.

•Constantly engage with Supervisor and Works Planner during execution week, reviewing progress against the plan on the delivery status of each task, highlighting extensions to programmes, justifications, and any plant issues/defects. 

•Arrive promptly to agenda driven team briefings, daily. Ensure you are briefed on the correct risk assessment and method statement for their allocated task and the work is carried out safely in accordance with agreed procedural use, written procedures, and safety documentation.

•Attend meetings with colleagues, client, or other stakeholders to discuss project delivery objectives, risks, and requirements.

•Support Mechanical Supervisor by conducting site measures, arranging material quotations, engaging on scope, resourcing, and timescales.

•Manage daily logging of the teams hours against activity.

•Attend and participate in all internal and external training courses as and when required for the role.

Qualifications or Required Experience: 

•F-Gas and ODS Regulations (2079) Category 1

•Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6187) or equivalent.

•Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills.

•Knowledge and familiarity with electrical regulations, best practices, and performance standards.

•Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.

•Familiarity with risk management, hazard reduction, and quality assurance control.

•CSCS(ECS)/CCNSG

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineers - Commissioning

Equans Data Centers are inviting experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineers, with an appetite for career progression and/ or promotion, to join our growing Data Center team as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer.

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful testing and commissioning of Data Center plant and equipment whilst maintaining high standards in quality and health and safety.

What will you deliver?

  • Engineering standards: able to interrogate engineering schedules, verification and validation requirements etc.
  • Support commissioning teams and managers in verifying and operating mechanical systems. This involves collaborating with specialist subcontractors and Equans’ Package Managers through commissioning levels 1 to 5.
  • Ascertaining, compiling and preparing commissioning test documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality. environmental and safety requirements.
  • Attend site commissioning meetings and provide updates for progress reports.
  • Assist the Package Managers with preparation of inspection and test plans for each element of the works.
