Electrician

EQUANS are recruiting for an Electrician to be based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £33,000 to £35,000 plus a shift allowance of £3,432 per annum. In addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Support the estates management in providing a 24 hour maintenance service within the hospital
  • Undertake PPMs, testing and repairs covering a wide range of equipment, services, systems and buildings associated with a large hospital.
  • Assist other trades where required. 
  • Any other duties required by site management
  • Be part of the shift pattern including day shifts, late shifts and 1 weekend in 4.

Who are we looking for?

  • Hold at least one of the following: City & Guilds 236 Parts A & B, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance, B Tech Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship or 17th / 18th Edition
  • Due to the nature of the contract, you must have the ability to pass a DBS.

Electrician

EQUANS are recruiting for an Electrician to be based in Dungeness B Power Station, TN29 9PX. This is a permanent role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified Electrician with industrial knowledge to carry out electrical and maintenance routines unsupervised including diagnosing and repair of faults on electrical building services. You will be an integral part of the Equans Mechanical and Electrical team based at Dungeness. 

  • You will be responsible for project related work, testing routines, enhancement work and preventative maintenance routines. All carried out within strict safety, quality, time and cost parameters.
  • Work as part of a team of electricians undertaking electrical maintenance and installation works.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure tasks are handled accurately and on time ensuring a high standard of work to the client.
  • Flexible approach to work and use their own initiative.
  • Develop effective working relationships with appropriate parties.
  • Be a team player with good communication skills.
  • Overcome challenging situations.

Who are we looking for

  • Level 3 City & Guilds or an ONC is a minimum requirement
  • BS7671 /18th Edition Qualified
  • CompEx01 to Ex04 (willing to work towards)
  • Be willing to provide out of hours cover when required
  • Competent in fault finding and diagnostics and procurement of spares
  • Technical EC&I knowledge and experience
  • Experience of working within a highly regulated industry environment
  • Experience of working and engaging with the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator (DNSR) or equivalent industry regulator
  • Knowledge of Civil nuclear plant systems, structures and component and associated design and assessment guidelines a distinct advantage
  • Experience of 11kV generation and distribution systems is an advantage
  • Experience of developing Safety Critical Systems and associated Safety Case
  • Experience of requirements management and a systems engineering approach
