Gas Engineer
Equans is looking for x3 Gas Engineers to join our team in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 42.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
This role will be within our repairs and maintenance team.
You will also be required to work and be part on the on call out of hours rota.
What will you deliver?
- Responsible for the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance and repairs within residential and commercial properties
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of gas appliances and heating systems
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot issues effectively
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent
- Liaise with clients and tenants to explain work required and provide maintenance advice
- Be part of an on call Rota to cover OOH breakdowns as required

Who are we looking for?

The Project Engineer – Electrical will be part of the team responsible for managing the construction aspects of large projects from inception to completion, within set timescales, to high quality standards and within health and safety guidelines.
What you will deliver?
- Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality, environmental and safety standards
- Assist with co-ordinate and control the on-site construction process ensuring the site build progresses in line with plan
- Liaise with Statutory Authorities and Local Authorities as directed by the Site Manager in the submission of all Building Regulation cards as required to allow the progress of the project
- Attend site meetings, effectively communicate and provide information for Progress Reports
- Chair and minute the subcontractor meetings in the absence of the Site or Project Manager
- Assist the Site Manager in the management of materials
- Record keeping (diary, drawing register, H&S, COSHH Assessments, As built drawings, Levels & Foundations records, site H&S file)
- Assist in ensuring that work is carried out in full conformance with quality environmental and safety requirements

What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: A background in maintenance, ideally within a healthcare or similar environment.
- Technical Skills: NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services (or equivalent) with hands-on experience in mechanical systems, including DHW, LPHW, CHW, and ventilation systems. Previous pipefitting and steam system experience is a plus.

Mechanical Engineer
Equans is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team on site in Westminster, London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £40,000 - £45,801 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.
A role has become available on a prestigious government facilities management contract for a mechanical engineer. The role is a for a day shift engineer, working 8 hours each shift 09:00 – 18:00, with some flexibility to meet requirements.
What will you deliver?
- The successful candidate will be required to have proven previous experience of planned preventative and reactive maintenance and their primary task will be to perform works on mechanical systems; including plumbing, air conditioning, pressure systems and will be required to assist the team with building fabric and electrical systems
- Effectively performing maintenance of a range of assets, through following a PPM schedule and ensuring compliance in a flexible and efficient manner
- Manage any reactive tasks that get raised, from diagnosis through to sourcing parts and on to completion
- Working as first line response to any reactive call-out, ensuring that you are always working safely and to the Approved Codes of Practice for the relevant service you are carrying out
- Working with various different parties, including specialist subcontractors in order to deliver work to the highest of standards for our clients. You must be able to demonstrate that you are aware of best working practices and that you are following them at all times

Semi Skilled Operative M&E
Equans is looking for a Semi Skilled Operative (M&E) to be based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, based on a shift pattern that includes days, evenings and weekends. On offer is a salary banding of £27,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience, a fixed monthly unsocial allowance and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- Support the Estates Management in the provision of a 24hr maintenance Service within the Portsmouth Hospital Trust for the service provider
- Promote a culture of customer service to both internal and external customers and partners and to liaise with other departments regarding maintenance issues if required
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks and duties relevant to the post
- After suitable training and guidance diagnose faults, repair and maintain complex equipment in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM’s) and other specialised hospital equipment
- Carry out the work of other trades where there is an interface to the work in hand with a level of competence that’s outside core trade
- Carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response
- Work in highly unpleasant working conditions, unblocking drains and sewers, which include biological hazards of body fluids and noxious fumes
- Carry out replacement of lamps and cleaning of all types of light fittings
- Carry out cleaning, labouring and driving tasks associated with Estates maintenance as instructed
- Observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations

Mobile Water Treatment Technician
Equans is looking for a Mobile Water Treatment Technician (Tier 1) to join our team in The South of England. The ideal location to be based will be able to cover from Reading down to Hampshire, into London and the South East. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 40 hours per week. What will you deliver?
- Representing EQUANS Water Compliance as a Water Treatment Technician to execute the self-delivery of all Water Treatment services across the South and South East of the UK
- As a Tier 1 Water Treatment Technician - You will encompass Tier 1 (Temperature Monitoring, Showerhead Descales, Cold Water Storage Tank Inspections and Cleans, Cooling Tower Clean and Disinfections, TMV Servicing, Water Sampling)
- Carry out PPM service visits using appropriate tools and systems
- Ensure all site L8 logbooks where acting as the Primary Technician are in date and accurate
- Complete work reports either via a day works sheet or Planon in a timely manner

EQUANS is looking for a HVAC Engineer to join our team in Hunterston, West Kilbride on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Our HVAC engineers are responsible for ensuring the scheduled PPM is carried out in accordance with set schedules provided, reacting to emergent defects and failures, and delivering installation and modifications works.
You will be responsible for attending start of shift briefs, ensuring you read and understand all correct Risk Assessments & Method Statements as well as site safety documentation.
Complexity:
•Carry out PPMs in accordance with set schedules and feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner during and on completion of execution week.
•During PPM, ensure all defects, failures and observations are feedback to Supervisor/Works Planner so that they can be actioned.
•Conduct reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis on all report issues and help desk requests.
•Deliver installation, upgrades, and modifications of site AC systems to support site office & welfare refurbishment programmes.
•Client Quality Assurance procedures and behaviours are to be adhered to at all times.
•When attending a work face, conduct a dynamic risk assessment, ensuring the work pack is satisfactory for delivery of the task.
•Constantly engage with Supervisor and Works Planner during execution week, reviewing progress against the plan on the delivery status of each task, highlighting extensions to programmes, justifications, and any plant issues/defects.
•Arrive promptly to agenda driven team briefings, daily. Ensure you are briefed on the correct risk assessment and method statement for their allocated task and the work is carried out safely in accordance with agreed procedural use, written procedures, and safety documentation.
•Attend meetings with colleagues, client, or other stakeholders to discuss project delivery objectives, risks, and requirements.
•Support Mechanical Supervisor by conducting site measures, arranging material quotations, engaging on scope, resourcing, and timescales.
•Manage daily logging of the teams hours against activity.
•Attend and participate in all internal and external training courses as and when required for the role.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
•F-Gas and ODS Regulations (2079) Category 1
•Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (6187) or equivalent.
•Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills.
•Knowledge and familiarity with electrical regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
•Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
•Familiarity with risk management, hazard reduction, and quality assurance control.

Static Tech Operative - Mechanical
EQUANS is looking for a Static Technical Operative (Mechanical) to join our team in Liverpool on a permanent basis, this will be based at Liverpool Crown Court for our HMCTS contract. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Mechanical Buildings Services Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and Equans processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.
Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to the electrical infrastructure and plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are always prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
To develop a good working relationship with all members of Equans staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.
Ensure the professional image of Equans is presented to clients at all times
Ensure up to date plant logs are kept at all times
Ensure that all plant rooms under the responsibility of Equans are kept in a clean and tidy condition.
Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance.
To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.
To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Total Mobile, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
To operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with Equans’ Technical and SHEQ processes and client requirements (or approved client system).
To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.
The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

Impact:
Working to high standard of Building Maintenance, we require a fully reliable and competent Mechanical Technician who can work on own initiative, within a team or oversee subcontractor’s, producing high quality reports on their findings and work. The role will involve being the face of Equans so smart appearance and being able to discuss findings with others including customers is required.

- A recognised Electrical Qualification to City & Guilds/NVQ level
- IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- C&G 2391 (desirable)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer to join our team and provide mechanical support for the maintenance of three secondary schools in Peterborough under a client contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operational efficiency and safety of educational facilities while ensuring that all mechanical systems and assets are well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance tasks across various assets, including air handling units, fan coil units, heating systems, domestic hot and cold water systems, and drainage systems.
- Occasionally perform installation and project-type works when required.
- Maintain up-to-date trade knowledge and qualifications to ensure safe and efficient performance.
- Provide quotations for small works and manage workload using Maximo (CAFM system).
- Ensure prompt, accurate completion of all paperwork related to maintenance activities.
- Advise on parts and labour for additional works, liaising with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Oversee and escort external contractors as required.
- Participate in the on-call rota for after-hours support.

Essential:
