Operations Director

Equans is looking for an Operations Director to join our Smart Buildings business based out of our Coleshill office (hybrid working) in North Warwickshire on a permanent, full-time basis and will involve overseeing critical operations on a national scale. The Operations Director will drive the operational alignment of three existing business areas; CTH, Equans Smart Buildings, and Smart Buildings Limited. Greater operational efficiency, improved customer service and a broader delivery capability are all anticipated benefits of this operational alignment.

Key activities:

  • Management responsibility for up to several operational direct reports
  • Management of P and L for client contract
  • Operates effectively in a complex organisation where there are conflicting demands on time and resources
  • Establishes excellent working relationships with appropriate client contacts
  • Establishes excellent working relationships with external clients
  • Works with minimal direct supervision; resolves complex operational problems

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Technical expertise, qualifications at degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role.
  • Understanding of BMS / Controls & Buildings Services.
  • Knowledge of key operational procedures, eg, project road maps, planned maintenance systems, Quality and Health & Safety.
  • Solid operating experience in project management roles within the BMS / Controls Building services industry.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing projects to a value of £3m +
  • Demonstrate experience of managing Health & Safety compliance
  • Demonstrate experience of estimating project costs, and presenting high quality tender documents to customers
  • Demonstrate IT literacy capability for software applications such as AUTOCAD, Intellect (accounts) plus full literacy with Microsoft Office suite. Incl. MS Project
  • Demonstrate experience and competency with PDA and mobile telephone software and applications.
  • Demonstrate experience of managing/supporting/coaching a team of people to deliver quality projects to stakeholders.

  • Oversee service activities, including maintenance contracts, troubleshooting, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for regional clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and capitalize on new project opportunities, as well as promoting service offerings to existing clients.

Product Manager

EQUANS is looking for a Product Manager to join our team in Leeds on a permanent, full time basis. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.

You’ll be adding your own spark to the creation and management of projects and products, that ensure the team(s) create features that wow the market, and positively impact customers day to day lives. There is significant opportunity to create and deliver new processes and frameworks to support the scaling up of the business and deliver quality through the end-to-end product lifecycle.

 

What will you deliver? 

Complexity:

There are four key aspects to the role which the successful candidate will demonstrate strong credentials in-

  • Excellent Operational and Data Analysis skills – the ability to work across various domains (Raw data, Insights, Customer feedback, Colleague Feedback, Market Research etc) and be able to translate the information into a single version of truth in the form of
  • requirements/epics/user stories
  • Service & Product Design – To understand the nature of process, service, and product design; identify pain points, and translate requirements into interactive prototypes or storyboards to engage and enthuse all levels of stakeholders.

  • Lead (and / or) coordinate the articulation of requirements to support the ongoing development and production of our products.

  • Support the evolution of the sales to delivery process – Ensuring a standardised approach to process and documentation
  • Build sound business case proposals for new products and features

Equans is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Smart Buildings Team covering the Midlands on a permanent, full-time basis. On offer is a salary banding of £30,000 - £50,000, car and benefits package.

Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k - £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.

 

What will you deliver?

  • The commissioning the installation of BEMS and Control systems in line with Customer design
  • requirements and those outlined by the Project Engineer, within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting and maintaining a collaborative working environment with internal & external customers and stakeholders including the more junior resources that may require buddying support
  • Validating the software strategies and graphics created by the dedicated applications resource
  • Perform physical wiring checks and plant start-ups
  • Provide technical support to other trades and sub-contractors
  • Carry out trouble shooting to diagnose system defects.
  • Involvement with customer’s validation processes and execution as part of Commissioning works and Project handover procedures
  • Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site
  • Accurately report progress to the Project Engineer to maintain communicational commitments

Who are we looking for?

Experience and skills

  • You'll have extensive experience operating as either a commissioning or pre commissioning Engineer within the BEMS & Building Controls industries in the UK marketplace, with strong technical understanding of industry leading systems including Siemens, Trend, Tridium systems as a minimum.
  • You’ll also have extensive experience in commissioning BEMS and Control systems of Siemens PX range, Trend IQ4 range of controls and / or Tridium.
  • You’ll be a high level engineer with experience of Siemens Desigo CC and Trend IQ Vision including full integration of M-Bus, Modbus, Bacnet protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and report writing are essential to maintain strong relationships with all team members and customers.
  • You’ll have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively to develop innovative solutions to challenges and identify opportunities for improvement and advantage.

Qualifications

  • A recognised construction qualification (NVQ Level 5, HNC / HND or higher in a Construction, Infrastructure or engineering related discipline such as building, electrical and/or mechanical service)
