You’ll be adding your own spark to the creation and management of projects and products, that ensure the team(s) create features that wow the market, and positively impact customers day to day lives.

 

There is significant opportunity to create and deliver new processes and frameworks to support the scaling up of the business, and deliver quality through the end to end product lifecycle.

What will you deliver? 

  • Lead (and / or) coordinate the articulation of requirements to support the ongoing development and production of our products.
  • Collate and define new & existing product concepts and features, from your own internal and external research.
  • Create and maintain an effective analysis & design process, learning from central IT and the broader market to deliver a world class service to the business
  • Support the evolution of the sales to delivery process – Ensuring a standardised approach to process and documentation
  • Build sound business case proposals for new products and features
  • Create and own project plans and manage those plans to successful conclusions
  • Develop product descriptions, customer benefits, application notes, blogs and support all Marketing, Sales and Support activities as required.
  • Awareness of all aspects of data lifecycle including data ethics and applicable legislation / standards such as GDPR, BS, ISO etc.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience, integration and dependencies.
  • Understand the core principles of Agile practices, Lean Startup, new technologies opportunities and other new evolving trends.

Who are we looking for? 

 

  • A blend of experience covering client facing roles, Business Analysis and/or Project Management, Product management would be ideal
  • Excellent Business Analysis and process/ operational design skills
  • Skills in the use of documentation, planning and presentation software tools e.g. Advanced MS Office, Sharepoint, Draw.io, Jira
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong experience of governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements are considered
  • Ability to work collaboratively in large team
  • A strong desire to learn, to effect and drive change, and to work collaboratively with colleagues in all areas to grow the business and your skills.
  • Ability to understand strategic business objectives, and overlay those to day to day actions and activities

Solutions Architect BMS Lead

EQUANS is looking for a Solutions Architect BMS Lead  to join our team in Leeds on a permanent, full time basis. On offer is a competitive salary of between £60,000 to £75,000 dependant on experience and benefits package. 

 

What will you deliver? 

The successful applicant will have an excellent understanding of BMS and Building services with a big appetite to develop their skills into the future of intelligent buildings. Integration is a key component of how we develop and deliver intelligent buildings and this will include working closely with both the Software and hardware development teams.

The Solution Architect will have the ability to process complex issues and work with multi-disciplinary teams and technologies. You will have an appetite to solve the challenges of our customers and to lead the design and development solutions.

The role will also require the integration with every aspect of the development cycle covering all areas and communication paths. From initial concept through to FM Services and every point in between.

Opportunities will arise from varying angles and the SA will have the ability and understanding to maximise these opportunities. This will mean communicating over a very wide aspect of people from the investor, developer through the entire construction chain.

  • Provide the primary architectural focal point for the project
  • Interface with the business sponsors and all other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the solution meets project requirements and is aligned to the business direction.
  • Provide ownership of technical solutions as well as options with documented impacts and benefits.
  • Define the infrastructure hardware and software requirements
  • Prepare and submit detailed documentation on the solution to the It Design and Service Authority for review and approval
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop detailed project plans.
  • Define system requirements, based on the business needs balanced against other constraints such as cost and timing. Ensuring that this set of high level requirements is consistent, complete, correct and operationally defined.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders involved in gathering requirements and responses.
  • Support the Sales team in development of the financial and commercial proposition
  • Assist in in converting requirements into a further level of detail for solution proposals and subsequent implementation
  • Interpret and map business requirements to solution functionalities
  • Assist project delivery teams to understand the detail around implementation and to become involved in that delivery when required

Senior Business Development Manager

Equans is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Smart Buildings team in the UK on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

The Senior Business Development Manager –will be accountable for owning the business development lifecycle to win profitable new contracts / projects within the Smart Buildings Space. The focus of the role is primarily on the sale of Smart Buildings Sector in the market with a order book value typically between £150k to £2m.

The role will support the growth of the Sector taking responsibility for sector strategies and pipeline development, providing guidance and mentoring to other members of the sales team. The role will lead the bidding team drawn from all parts of the organisation.

 

What will you deliver?

  • Own, develop and manage pipeline of sales opportunities that will meet personal and team sales targets for the next 2 to 3 years on a rolling basis.
  • Actively maintain a strong knowledge on Equans, industry, client, sector and competitor trends
  • Work with a variety of internal, externa l and sister company sources to research and analyse prospective opportunities, markets and propositions
  • Actively manage the routes to market and Identify and attend networking events
  • Engage and nurture relationships across the industry which will generate new business opportunities
  • Keep all stakeholders informed as opportunities progress through the cycle
  • Lead the team for each of their bid submission process to ensure deadlines are met with high quality outputs.
  • Ensure client insights/needs are included within our solutions
  • Comply with all pre-bid governance processes to ensure authority to proceed
  • Ensure all stakeholders are briefed on submissions as they progress
  • Work closely with the Solution Architect, Software and Hardware and Operations teams to ensure that the technical solution for each customer is approved
  • Lead opportunities through to financial and commercial closure with the client
  • Lead the smooth hand over to Development and operational teams
  • Leads internal governance at BUCC, UK CC and Group CC levels

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant experience in Business Development with strong understanding of Smart Buildings and BMS
  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, or a related engineering discipline plus generally twelve years related experience. MBA preferred
  • Familiarity with building technologies such as HVAC, lighting, energy, etc.; Systems Integration experience is a plus.
  • Broad awareness of the smart buildings sector: key drivers and challenges, key players, and the government policy and regulatory environment.
  • Preferred experience either procuring services as building owner designate or selling services to building owners.
  • Influencing and interpersonal skills with proven ability to quickly build relationships with customers.
  • Organisational and project management skills with the ability to lead teams and work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

This role includes a DBS Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.

Smart Buildings have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government sectors - across the country. In doing so we naturally prime the sites to become ‘Smart enabled’, meaning we can then introduce further value across sites via our IoT solutions; driving social, economic and environmental benefits to portfolios of sites and more importantly people operating and living within them.

Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k - £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably. 

You will provide a professional delivered service to each job within your patch, working alongside a team of applications engineers to standardise our applications library for key graphics and data visuals in the head end of our inhouse and / or third party licenced (SaaS) control software.

You'll utilise your enthusiasm and hunger for success to deliver excellent results in your business area with a continual focus on the end customer to ensure we deliver and maximise growth in each project we accepting, turning projects into partnered accounts.

 

What will you deliver?

  • Develop standardised graphics and libraries for key BMS and IoT plant (including HVAC, Mechanical, intelligent lighting etc to deliver client value
  • Analyse and edit existing computer applications to improve functionality
  • Remodel and adapt applications as needed to optimise performance
  • Install applications and confirm proper communication between equipment and systems 
  • Become a technical specialist alongside a team of colleagues to define best in class operating procedures
  • Create and present application prototypes
  • Collaborate with engineering and programming departments
  • Contribute to new project proposals and delivery/completion/commissioning
  • Maintain positive client relationships
  • Accurately report progress to the Project lead(s)

Who are we looking for?

  • A recognised construction qualification / training within the building (HVAC, M&E, lighting, IoT) industry
  • You'll have experience working with key BMS head ends (including Trend IQVision, Tridium etc) within the BEMS & Building Controls industries in the UK marketplace.
  • Excellent communication skills and report writing are essential to maintain strong relationships with all team members and customers.
  • You’ll have great interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to think laterally and creatively to develop innovative solutions to challenges and identify opportunities for improvement and advantage.
