Yard Operative
EQUANS is recruiting for a Yard Operative to be based at New Oxford House, DN31 1HB . This is a permanent Full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £24,875 per annum
Shift Times
07:45 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 15:00 Friday
What will you deliver?
The postholder will be responsible for the stock control of materials used within the highway maintenance service and ensuring items are re-ordered when stock items reach minimum levels to ensure the efficient delivery of the highway service. The postholder will also be required to carry out regular checks of fuel stock used by the fleet of vehicles operating from its operational depots.

Who are we looking for?
• Applicants should have experience working in a Depot / Yard environment.
• Applicants must hold a recognised telehandler and forklift licence.
• Applicants should be able to work well under pressure and retain a positive attitude.
• Applicants should have excellent communication skills.
• Applicants should have experience driving and operating construction plant machinery and equipment.
• Applicants should preferably be able to demonstrate a level of competency in construction type activities, although training will be provided to suitable applicants.
• Applicants must be prepared to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment.
• Applicants must have good organisational skills, a systematic approach to work and be able to maintain accurate records.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Applicants should be flexible to meet the needs of the service.

Mobile Caretaker
Equans is recruiting for multiple Mobile Caretakers to be based in Regeneration House, B46 1JU. This is a permanent, role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competative salary.
The successful candidate will be required to work their hours between 6am to 8pm as required by their line manager.
This will include working split shift or continuous.
The Role:
- Responsible for the day to day management of the school premises with respect to caretaking services, together with establishing a close working relationship with the school and community groups. Ensure that all services are provided to a consistently high standard. Assist the Area Caretaker in meeting the requirements of the Project Agreement.
- Organise, manage and monitor the tasks of the cleaning/caretaking team.
- Respond in a timely manner to any issues with the delivery of routine and non-routine services. Provide cover and remedial tasks as necessary.
- Organise and carry out staff inductions, arrange task training and undertake annual appraisals of the cleaning team.
- Act as Keyholder. Carry out routine and non-routine security procedures for the school buildings and grounds.
- Respond to security or maintenance issues outside normal working hours.
Required Experience
- Experience of providing general cleaning and security duties and basic maintenance of buildings and associated plant and systems
- Experience of supervising the work of others
- Demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety principles
- Able to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Experience of caretaking within an educational environment (desirable)

Mobile Janitor
Equans are looking for a Mobile Janitor to join our Team in North Lanarkshire Schools, Bellshill ML4 3LR on a permanent basis. This is a part time role working 20 hours per week + overtime hours. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.
The role starts at 20hrs per week; however, overtime is required taking candidates over 35hrs per week.
Overtime is set out as: 20-40 hrs = Plain Time. Over 40 hrs = Time and a Half.
This position also has the potential to go full time to fit in with the Business needs.
What will you deliver?
- The role requires the post holder to carry out the Janitors duties on any North Lan Schools site as required. The post holder must have a high degree of flexibility as they could be asked to work different shifts on different sites at any time.
- Safe opening and closing of premises, including patrol and inspection through emergency procedures as appropriate the making secure and cleaning up of the premises.
- Liaise with Police in the event of break-in or fire and carrying out of laid down emergency procedures in these circumstances.

Caretaker
Equans is looking for a Caretaker to join our team in Pendle Vale High School, BB9 8LF on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £21, 489 and benefits package.
Shift Pattern: hours of work will be 13.30pm till 21.00pm
What will you deliver?
- Organise, manage and monitor the tasks of the cleaning team.
