SHEQ Advisor

EQUANS is looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join our team in Seaham on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

The main purpose of the role is to support the company in the operation of company systems ISO standards covering the effective management of quality, health, safety and environment. This will include extensive working on live projects across a wide geographical area.  To understand, adhere and implement the company SHEQ policy/strategy and ensure full compliance to Approved Codes of Practice and legislation.

What will you deliver? 

  • Provide guidance and advice at pre-construction stage to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company standards.
  • On a day-to-day basis ensure sites comply with statutory requirements and company standards whilst providing relevant guidance and advice.
  • Carry out pre-planned site audits to ensure compliance providing feedback via the company’s reporting system.
  • Highlight areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred, preventing works continuing on site when necessary.
  • Proactively work with operational teams during the project lifecycle to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages and relevant control measures are identified.
  • Investigate incidents and produce detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and best practices in the industry through regular reading of journals and relevant website/site visits.
  • Raise awareness on SHEQ issues through toolbox talks and briefings, delivering training where necessary.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Suitable qualifications in either H&S, quality or environmental management. E.g. NEBOSH General Certificate, IEMA etc.
  • Relevant experience of working as part of a SHEQ team
  • Ability to interpret legislation and Approved Codes of Practice

Field View Operator

EQUANS is looking for a Field View Operator to join our team in Slough, this is a full time permanent role.  On offer is a salary between £26,000 - £27,000 and benefits package. 

This role is to work as part of Places and Communities division within the refurbishment team. We work with local authorities on social housing properties.

We are looking for someone who is keen to start their career in construction, no relevant experience is needed as we can provide training. For the right person we can offer career development with Equans.

What will you deliver? 

To ensure that all Field View Processes are recorded and filed correctly. To ensure that all Information is distributed in accordance with the PMP and general project requirements and timeframes.

 

  • Act as EQUANS contact for all Field View related issues.
  • Ensure that all information is recorded and retained on central electronic document management system (Field View)
  • Review and control of Field View management protocols
  • Assist and police the Site Team with capturing the information needed for field view.
  • Clear communication of expectations for Field View management with the site team and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that all relevant person(s) is up to date with training and using field view correctly.
  • Produce weekly report of information logged and circulate
  • Completion, maintenance, and monitoring of records
  • Ensure proper records maintained for Field View distribution
  • Weekly reporting to Line Manager

Compliance Manager

Equans is looking for a Compliance Manager to join our team in Hatfield with frequent travel to sites across London, the South & East of England. This is a permanent role working full time hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company car and benefits package.

Overview:

To lead on adherence to scheme delivery requirements in line with funding and accreditation requirements and maintaining necessary associated accreditations.

This role will be responsible for collating, validating and preparing PAS 2030:2019 compliance paperwork to Clients, Energy Suppliers and Accreditation Bodies on a weekly basis, operating within contractual deadlines to ensure compliance.

  • Management of PAS2030 Compliance Team
  • Ownership of internal and external auding process for national accreditation

Gas Supervisor

EQUANS are recruiting for a Gas Supervisor to be based in Oldham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

The role of the Gas Supervisor is to directly manage a team of operatives across all trades in any workstream across the contract, to ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, to a high-quality standard, with exceptional customer care. Acting as a role model for your teams and instilling the Equans culture to all colleagues.

Key Accountabilities

To take ownership and manage the various tasks carried out by the operatives ensuring they are carried out to a high standard, including but not limited to:

  • Ensure that EQUANS all safety policy and procedures are followed by you and your team, ensuring all works are carried out in a safe compliant manor across all disciplines required on the contract by both the in house and supply chain.
  • Manage effectively all working at Height carried out by your team including scaffold inspection and management.
  • Carry out face fit training for your team and ensure all records are kept up to date.
  • Record all accidents, near misses, Safety observations and HIPO’s on AIMS
  • Carry out toolbox talks on a regular basis and record attendees.
  • Manage absence in line with the policy, update HR.net and sickness tracker with all cases.
  • Carry out investigations, prepare investigation reports in line with the disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure your teams have the correct tools, equipment, and materials to carry out their work including imprest kit management in vehicles.
  • Manage your team’s productivity, including holding meetings, record actions and when necessary, implement performance improvement plans.
  • Carry out pre, post and in progress inspections (MSV) and record findings on AIMS.

Pre-Construction Manager

EQUANS are recruiting for a Pre-Construction Manager to be based in Seaham. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, car allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview

Working across the North East & Cumbria Business Unit, the Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for Project Managing all new tender opportunities for both workstreams within the region. The Pre-Construction Manager is responsible for leading technical, work winning, commercial and production team members through all stages of the tender process to ensure a robust and winning proposal including management of all required internal governance requirements. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure a compliant and efficient pre-construction phase is achieved in line with the Business Plan.

Key Accountabilities

Pre-Commencement

  • Manage all tenders within the regional business to produce successful proposals.
  • Manage all required stages of governance for P&C and UKRC.
  • Facilitate the handover of successfully secured tendered schemes from Business Development and Estimating through to the Pre-Commencement Operations Teams.
  • Facilitate and hold Client Post-Tender Award Meetings to efficiently and diligently commence the pre-commencement phase of each successful tender.
  • Continue the liaison with the Client Team throughout the pre-commencement phase to ensure full and appropriate communication and engagement is maintained.
  • Produce and agree a scheme specific Project Plan which will define the pre-commencement phase of each scheme.
  • Define and agree the project start on site date in line with Client requirements and scheme constraints.
  • To Project Manage each scheme through RIBA Stages 0-4, ensuring the applicable stage tasks, activities and meetings are carried out as required in order to achieve the defined start on site date.
  • Chair regular Pre-Commencement Meetings with the Project Teams, as Project Manager for RIBA Stages 0-4 where applicable.
  • Continually ensure compliance at RIBA Stages 0-4 of a project to internal and external standards and processes.
  • Prepare weekly reports which accurately detail the status of each scheme progressing through RIBA Stages 0-4 where applicable.
  • Ensure a Risk Register is established upon scheme launch into Operations Pre-Commencement; taking ownership of this Risk Register to ensure this is up to date and applicable risks are highlighted and an action plan developed to eliminate or reduce identified risks. Facilitate and chair Risk Workshops to ensure a collaborative approach is adopted to identify and managing risk. Raise unacceptable risk to Senior Management.
  • Evaluate potential slippage against the Project Plan and develop an action plan to mitigate this slippage; raise any slippage to Senior Management
  • Attend project post-completion review meetings. Capture the feedback relevant to pre-commencement from these meetings and ensure this feedback is incorporated within pre-commencement (process, monitor, meetings).
  • Ensure regular communication with the North East Operations Teams to capture and share best practice and ensure processes are aligned closely across the Northern Region. Ensure regular communication with other regions to capture and share best practice.

 

Viewpoint for Projects

  • Develop a full Implementation Plan to ensure successful implementation of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit, in line with the BMS Standards.
  • Manage (with the assistance of the Document Controller) the implementation of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit.
  • Ensure all schemes are correctly set up on Viewpoint for Projects in line with the company wide BMS Standards.
  • Support (with assistance of the Document Controller) the running and development of Viewpoint for Projects across the North West Business Unit.
  • Introduction of BIM: Research and develop an implementation plan for BIM Level 2. Liaise with the Technical Team and other regions to develop this plan. Research good practice for the introduction of BIM Level 2.

Business Development

  • Support and assist the Business Development Team where applicable with the production of winning bid submissions.

Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer

EQUANS is looking for an Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer to join our team in Welwyn and Hatfield. This is an Apprentice role working full time hours per week. On offer is a salary of £18,000 - £22,000 depending on skills and experience.

The role of the Resident Liaison Officer is a vital one.  For many tenants you will be the first person they meet from Equans.  Through your words, action and commitment to giving good service, an impression of the company will be formed in the minds of our customers that will directly reflect on our good name.

  • Assist with site set up
  • Develop effective working relationships with client representatives to reduce duplication and ensure consistency of information and approach
  • Visit each tenant prior to work commencing to introduce Equans and communicate the scope of works.  Give tenants contact numbers and a pack detailing the full TLO process
  • Establish tenant’s individual requirements by carrying out an initial tenant profile, documenting any points discussed and tailoring individual communication plans accordingly.  Work with site staff to implement effective practices
  • Carry out a property condition survey and appliance survey with photographs where necessary with the tenant before works start in the property

EQUANS is looking for an Apprentice Resident Liaison Officer to join our team in Silchester Estate, Shalfleet Drive, London. This is an Apprentice role working full time hours per week. On offer is a salary of £17,000 – £21,000 depending on skills and experience.
