Construction Site Manager
EQUANS is looking for a Construction Site Manager to join our team in Birmingham on a 12-month FTC at Sandwell and Birmingham Hospitals. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
Responsible for the supervision of sub-contractors delivering a wide range of project works. Responsible for the efficient use of resources and ensuring that, job planning, appointments, materials, plant and equipment are effectively utilised and continuously improved in accordance with service delivery targets. The Project Site Manager is also responsible for the management of Construction health & safety on all projects and the necessary completion, snagging and handover of all projects.
The principal responsibility of the Project Site Manager is to achieve the target contributions by managing the contract/project in accordance with the contract documents and programme. Responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the agreed quality. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy, CDM and ensure all employees reporting to you do the same and being responsible for ensuring that SHEQ requirements are upheld to the highest of standards at all times.
The Project Site Manager will promote teamwork at all times, with commitment to the provision of an efficient and effective customer focused service.
The key objectives of the Site Manager are:
•Compiling all pre-start information.
•Provide structured approach to project planning; to include health and safety, execution methods and quality.
•Provide project & weekly programme information and KPI’s and feed back into monitoring and reporting systems.
•Provide project direction, focus and consistency across the team & project.
•Supervision of the Site Team in all areas.
•Health and Safety Issues are addressed.
•Overall responsibility for site safety, ensuring compliance to SHEQ procedures & responsibilities, & HSE requirements.
•Manage Quality Control through a structured monitoring process and auditing.
•Liaison with the client on both a formal and informal basis
•Application for all licences, permits etc. and ensuring they are in place to execute the works correctly.
•Ensuring that site set up works is complied with, and all welfare facilities are provided.
•Co-ordination with sub-contractors and appointment of them in conjunction with the Contracts Manager and Commercial Team
•Attendance, preparation, and reporting for all meetings in relation to the project
•To have a clear understanding of the way the job is priced to enable us to take full benefit of any opportunities for variations, change is specification or scope of works to maximise profit.
•Ensure that systems are put in place in accordance with Company procedure and policy to ensure works are completed in accordance with the company’s values.
•Endeavour, wherever possible, to resolve difficulties in non-adversarial manner.
•Understand the commercial aims of the project and business plan objectives.
•Provide key information to the Project team to enable high levels of financial control.
•To provide absence cover in accordance with your Job role and position within the organisation.
•Recommend necessary changes to improve performance based on analysis of weekly/daily Key Performance Indicator statistics.
•Escalate any issue of concern/potential concern to the Project managers as required to ensure a pro-active approach is maintained and service delivery is not impacted.

•Work with the wider team to aid future decision making and possible improvements to service levels.
•Carry out regular checks on plant and equipment in use on your contracts.
•Liaise with other Supervisors / Managers to effectively resolve any cross managerial issues within the contract.
•Ensure all works including information i.e., photographs, follow-ons, material requirements etc. allocated through the Company’s IT system are completed and reported appropriately.
•Carry out isolations to M&E equipment under a authorised person capacity.
Impact:
The Project Site Manager carries out the role according to onsite processes and procedures. The position ensures that Equans are able to meet contractual obligations whilst simultaneously providing an excellent service to our customers.
Complexity:
The post holder must have effective communication skills to liaise with the customer/client and be able to work under minimum supervision levels.
Qualifications or Required Experience:

•HNC/HND in Building Studies or equivalent experience
•A relevant construction management or technical related NVQ/SVQ at level 6 or 7

•Asbestos Manager (P405)

•City and Guilds Trade qualification if applicable (Desirable)

•Current valid driving license

•Experience of construction areas and relevant knowledge of building legislation and building and construction projects

Highway Road Worker
Equans is looking for a Highway Road Worker to join our team in our North East Lincolnshire Partnership in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary up to £27,627 depending on skills and experience, plus benefits package.
The individual will be part of a team that has responsibility for the maintenance of the highway to ensure it is safe for all users of the network and the wider community, having regard to core objectives of safety, serviceability and sustainability.
Please note applicants should hold Category C driving licence.
What will you deliver?
- Erection and removal of traffic management in accordance with the Safety at Streetworks and Roadworks Code of Practice.
- Driving of highway vehicles and tippers, subject to license, training and competency.
- The safe operation of powered plant and equipment, subject to license, training and competency, such as compaction equipment, masonry cutters, floor saws, breakers, pedestrian operated rollers and all ancillary equipment and tools appropriate to highway operations. Driving of specialist ride on plant, including telescopic handlers and forklift trucks, subject to license, training and competency.
- Mixing, laying, levelling, spreading, compaction of bituminous materials, mortars, cements and concretes.ng of precast concrete kerbs, slabs, concrete block or sett paving.
- Erection, fixing, cleaning and dismantling of highway street furniture including traffic sign posts, non-illuminated signs, guard railing, fencing and nameplates.
- The reconstruction of inspection chambers, catchpits and road gullies and adjustment of gratings, covers and ironwork.
- Accurate completion of records including time sheets, daily work records, vehicle inspection sheets, drivers hours records.
- To delivery all works with compliance to Equans Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) standards and policies in line with ISO 18001 (Health & Safety), 14001 (Environmental) & ISO 9001 (Quality).

Equans is looking for an FRA Site Manager to join our team working across the Northeast of England. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
