Equans is looking for a Field View Operator to join our team covering sites across Brentford, on a permanent basis, working full time hours. On offer is a salary of £25,000 - £29,000 depending on skills and experience, and benefits package.

This role is to work in our Places and Communities department specialising in refurbishments. Our ideal candidate will have admin or Field View experience in construction. You will be confidant when working with site teams and senior managers, as well as managing multiple projects at one time.

What will you deliver?

As a Field view Operator you daily duties would be to capture all photographic evidence of works carried out on site from the deconstruction of materials from the current building through to the replacement of new fire safe materials and everything in between, while also liaising with site personnel both Sub contractors and site management to organise the capturing of the evidence and the signing off of work stages as they are completed. You will also be in charge of regular reports generated to document the stages of work complete which will have to be managed while also being the point of contact on that site for providing the evidence and answering queries.

This job will both require work to be done out on the site alongside the work teams and also alongside the site management using both mobile devices to capture the evidence and computers to store and organise the data.

  • Ensure that all information is recorded and retained on central electronic document management system (Field View)
  • Act as EQUANS contact for all Field View related issues on site.
  • Review and control of document management protocols
  • Clear communication of expectations for evidence capture with the site team and subcontractors.
  • Assist and police the Site Team with capturing the photographic evidence of construction stages.
  • Ensure that all relevant person(s) is up to date with training and using field view correctly.
  • Produce weekly report of information logged and circulate
  • Completion, maintenance, and monitoring of records liaising with site teams
  • Ensure proper records maintained for client distribution

Equans is looking for a Contract Delivery Supervisor to join our team within Repairs & Maintenance in Kings Road, Birmingham on a permanent basis.

SHEQ Manager

EQUANS is looking for a SHEQ Manager to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. 

The main purpose is to ensure, in conjunction with the regional Head of SHEQ and local MD’s that adequate arrangements are made within each service provision for the effective implementation and operation of ISO standards and systems.  The Manager will also ensure that all resources either internal or outsourced are used effectively to support the business.  To understand, adhere and implement the company SHEQ policy / strategy, and ensure all those reporting to you do the same.

What will you deliver? 

  • Ensure equal SHEQ support is provided across all two service areas

Highway Road Worker

Equans is looking for a Highway Road Worker to join our team in our North East Lincolnshire Partnership in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary up to £27,627 depending on skills and experience, plus benefits package.

The individual will be part of a team that has responsibility for the maintenance of the highway to ensure it is safe for all users of the network and the wider community, having regard to core objectives of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

What will you deliver? 

  • Erection and removal of traffic management in accordance with the Safety at Streetworks and Roadworks Code of Practice.
  • Driving of highway vehicles and tippers, subject to license, training and competency.
  • The safe operation of powered plant and equipment, subject to license, training and competency, such as compaction equipment, masonry cutters, floor saws, breakers, pedestrian operated rollers and all ancillary equipment and tools appropriate to highway operations. Driving of specialist ride on plant, including telescopic handlers and forklift trucks, subject to license, training and competency.
  • Mixing, laying, levelling, spreading, compaction of bituminous materials, mortars, cements and concretes.ng of precast concrete kerbs, slabs, concrete block or sett paving.
  • Erection, fixing, cleaning and dismantling of highway street furniture including traffic sign posts, non-illuminated signs, guard railing, fencing and nameplates.
  • The reconstruction of inspection chambers, catchpits and road gullies and adjustment of gratings, covers and ironwork.
  • Accurate completion of records including time sheets, daily work records, vehicle inspection sheets, drivers hours records.
  • To delivery all works with compliance to Equans Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) standards and policies in line with ISO 18001 (Health & Safety), 14001 (Environmental) & ISO 9001 (Quality).

Roads & Streetworks Inspector

EQUANS is looking for a Roads & Streetworks Inspector to join our team in Grimsby. This is a full time permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week. With a salary of up to £25,000 plus benefits package.

A driving license is essential for this role.

The individual will be part of a team that has the responsibility under delegated powers to ensure that the local authority discharges its statutory duty for the day to day co-ordination, inspections and monitoring of works carried out by Utility Companies and Private Companies under licence, within the Highway.

What will you deliver? 

  • Monitor the progress and quality of the works undertaken by statutory undertakers and others with powers to undertake work on the highway to ensure compliance with the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act under the delegated powers given to Equans by the local authority.
  • Monitor safety standards employed by those undertaking works on the highway ensuring that Equans meets its obligation for the safety of highway users by applying the delegated powers available to it.
  • Operating an effective programme of inspections of street works ensuring compliance with the requirements of NRSWA on behalf of the local authority.
  • Monitor the placing of skips, scaffolding etc, on the public highway.
  • Maintain records of all inspections to ensure the council has adequate records for future reference.
  • Investigate all reports of defective reinstatement. Purse the rectification and identify situations where recovery of costs, for any defect found during sample inspections or following investigation of a reported defect should be pursued.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems of working that continue to ensure the effective delivery of this service.
  • Assist with the enforcement of all relevant street works legislation (including inspections, site meetings, the serving of notices and maintenance of records), to maintain the safety of highway users.
  • Liaise in a professional, efficient and courteous manner with elected members, the retained client, the general public, parish councils, neighbouring authorities and any other interested parties in relation to all street works activities.
  • Monitoring the activities of all parties working on the highway, intervening to stop unsafe working practices or correct defective workmanship.
  • Upon its inception carry out permit compliance checks in line with supplied conditions of statutory undertakers.

Highways Inspector

EQUANS is looking for a Highway Inspector to join our team in Grimsby on a permanent basis. This is a part time role working Monday - Wednesday 9am - 5pm with a 30 min break and Thursday 9am - 10.30am . On offer is a salary up to £16,640.00 plus benefits package. 

EQUANS is North East Lincolnshire Council’s long-term Regeneration Partner delivering a number of services on their behalf, including the Highways & Transport.

The individual will be part of a team that has responsibility, under delegated powers, to ensure that the Local Authority discharges its statutory duty for the inspection, assessment and maintenance of the highway to ensure it is safe for all users of the network and the wider community, having regard to core objectives of safety, serviceability and sustainability.

What will you deliver? 

  • To inspect, investigate and order works as necessary to maintain the highway network in a safe condition.
  • To conform to legislation, policy, codes of practice, procedures and standards to ensure a robust and consistent approach to highway maintenance.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure the local authority has adequate records for future reference and to enable the local authority to establish a defence against any action or liability claim that may arise.
  • Working within strict legal protocols and timescales, assist with the processing of third-party insurance claims, providing inspection and maintenance records, meeting claimants and solicitors on site, providing statements of evidence and attending court for cross examination in defence of the local authority.
  • To establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including client officers, elected members, the general public, parish councils, neighbouring authorities, emergency services and any other interested parties on matters relating to highway services.
  • To investigate stakeholder enquiries within prescribed timescales as directed by Highway Asset Engineer and Highway Maintenance Technician’s, often including complex and diverse issues and advise on potential solutions to problems to ensure the safety of the highway network.
  • To assist with the investigation of freedom of information requests within prescribed timescales.
  • To inspect the work of in-house labour force, contractors, or other third parties working on the highway, and to take any necessary measures to ensure their compliance with relevant legislation, specifications, standards and codes of practice.      
  • To identify and report on the need for more substantial improvement works on the highway, beyond the scope of reactive maintenance, for example roads requiring reconstruction, resurfacing, surface dressing and slurry sealing.   
  • When required, provide advice to third parties working in the highway, and if necessary, intervene to stop unsafe working practices.
  • To assist with the enforcement of relevant legislation to ensure the safety of the highway network.
  • To investigate and assist with the processing of applications for the construction of vehicular footway or verge crossings.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of new technology and systems of working to ensure the effective delivery of the service.
  • To contribute to the development of policy, procedures, safe methods of working and risk assessments
  • Undertake such other duties as may be required commensurate with the job level.

FRA Site Manager

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Contract Manager in the delivery of a high performing, effective and efficient /compliant FRA works and Refurbishment Service including the monitoring of a team of Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors.

Fire Plant Assistant

Equans is looking for a Fire Plant Assistant to join our team in Heysham on a 6-month Fixed-Term Contract for EDF. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:

To undertake all fire and emergency preparedness systems work on a planned maintenance system. General Overview

The role of the Gas Supervisor is to directly manage a team of operatives across all trades in any workstream across the contract, to ensure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, to a high-quality standard, with exceptional customer care. Acting as a role model for your teams and instilling the Equans culture to all colleagues.

Key Accountabilities

To take ownership and manage the various tasks carried out by the operatives ensuring they are carried out to a high standard, including but not limited to:

  • Ensure that EQUANS all safety policy and procedures are followed by you and your team, ensuring all works are carried out in a safe compliant manor across all disciplines required on the contract by both the in house and supply chain.
  • Manage effectively all working at Height carried out by your team including scaffold inspection and management.
  • Carry out face fit training for your team and ensure all records are kept up to date.
  • Record all accidents, near misses, Safety observations and HIPO’s on AIMS
  • Carry out toolbox talks on a regular basis and record attendees.
  • Manage absence in line with the policy, update HR.net and sickness tracker with all cases.
  • Carry out investigations, prepare investigation reports in line with the disciplinary policy.
  • Ensure your teams have the correct tools, equipment, and materials to carry out their work including imprest kit management in vehicles.
  • Manage your team’s productivity, including holding meetings, record actions and when necessary, implement performance improvement plans.
  • Carry out pre, post and in progress inspections (MSV) and record findings on AIMS.
  • Hold one 2 one meetings and PDR meetings with your teams
  • Ensure your team carry out all mandatory training and support any ongoing training for team members including apprentices.
  • Auditing Subcontractors and operatives in respects to quality and compliance to Statutory Regulations and company procedures and record on AIMS.
  • Auditing Subcontractors and operatives in respects to adherence to Manufactures Instructions, Installation methods, safe systems of work and certification regardless of product and record on AIMS.
  • Support recruitment of operatives including carrying out interviews, induction and ordering of tools and equipment, uniforms, and ID.
  • Ensure Non-Conformances are identified, reported and Corrective Actions implemented, monitored and trends identified and record on AIMS
  • Manage the Annual leave for your team to avoid peaks and troughs and have a consistent workforce including Christmas and summer periods.
  • Support management of complaints
  • Manage subcontractors as required.
  • Ensure your team support the ECO rota to provide adequate cover for all shifts.
