Bid Manager

Equans is looking for a Bid Manager to join our team in Wath upon Dearne, South Yorkshire on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company car and benefits package.

 

Main Purpose of the Role

  • Develop winning ‘quality’ bid submissions.
  • Manage the process of bidding for and securing tendered opportunities
  • Maintain information to aid future bids

What will you deliver?

  • Work with Regional Directors and their teams to support bids
  • Liaison with the internal bid team including our Design Manager
  • Managing internal and external relationships with third parties
  • Reporting progress and issues to the HoB
  • Production of bid programmes and action plans
  • Increasing understanding of market and positions in the sector
  • Offer assistance, support and mentoring to other team members

  • Previous experience in a similar role of one or more of the following products planned and / or responsive maintenance and retrofit / sustainability

Business Development Co-ordinator

EQUANS is looking for a Business Development Coordinator to join our team in Manchester on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package. 

The Business Development Co-ordinator will manage salesforce, lead on collation of client satisfaction and market research and work with internal teams to adopt a culture of continuous improvement to achieve customer excellence and become our client’s partner of choice across the North.

What will you deliver? 

 

Salesforce

  • Manage all data in salesforce (the Customer Relationship Management System) , adding and updating opportunities working closely with teams across the North to ensure data is accurate
  • Produce monthly and ad hoc salesforce reports

Research and trend analysis

  • Conducting market research to identify market trends and new business development opportunities.
  • Lead on the collation and analysis of client satisfaction data
  • Produce internal reports using salesforce and other internal tools

Business Development Support

  • Supporting the BD team in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients via email, phone, and in-person.
  • Coordinating and arranging client events, meetings, appointments, and conferences.
  • Assisting with the preparation of presentations and pitches for prospective clients.
  • Creating and maintaining client databases and mail lists.

Marketing and Communication

  • Providing support to the Marketing and Communications team to promote the Equans brand

Bid Manager

Equans is looking for a Bid Manager to join our bid team in Hatfield. The role is permanent and full-time. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. But more than this, you’ll be working with, and being coached by, some of the most experienced and expert Bid Managers in the sector.

The role is based within Equans’ Places & communities South working winning team. You’ll be responsible for managing the entire bid process from research to tender submission and onto interview.

In P&C South, our Bid Team typically scores top on quality every time. If you’re an experienced Bid Manager with a proven track record of excellent quality scores, we want to hear from you.

What do we need?

We need someone who:

  • appreciates best practice bidding aligned to APMP and PAS360;
  • understands our clients and the markets we operate in;
  • has around 5 years’ experience of tier one or main contractor competitive tendering within the public sector (ideally with social housing experience);
  • knows what makes a compelling bid;
  • can manage the entire bid process in collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • has negotiation, influencing skills, and time management skills;
  • is used to working well under pressure with challenging deadlines;
  • is educated to A Level or above;
  • has some experience of using Adobe InDesign; and
  • has or is working towards  APMP Foundation.

What will you deliver? 

The Bid Manager role is responsible for:

  • implementing our proven bid and governance procedures;
  • maintaining our quality strike rate and achieving our internal bid Service Level Agreement;
  • planning, managing, and submitting Expressions of Interest, Selection Questionnaires, and tenders;
  • manging a range of stakeholder input including business development, operations, commercial, H&S, sustainability, social value, and legal.
  • identifying and tracking the bid programme and any associated risks;
  • driving the capture and planning phase of each bid;
  • ensuring win themes are clear and compelling;
  • planning, drafting, writing, and coordinating question responses;
  • identifying best practice in bidding and making sure we continually improve;
  • helping to plan interviews;
  • producing presentations for interview teams;
  • visiting operational sites and other offices to gather information and improve our evidence library;
  • enriching our bid library with active knowledge management, ensuring all lessons learned are fed back and implemented;
  • researching the ways that we can improve bid content;
  • developing creative approaches to writing and presentation;
  • reviewing bid submissions for quality and accuracy;
  • ensuring the bid meets our quality benchmarks; and
  • helping to manage our team bid library.

We work on bids that range in value from £1 million to £500 million. Most of our bids are for the refurbishment of social housing, although public and commercial buildings are increasingly important. We work closely with a dedicated Estimating team who are responsible for handling the pricing element of bids. Our region covers the home counties, South East, and East of England. The work winning team manages up to 10 bids at a time, so it’s important to use our collective knowledge and experience to ensure we all succeed. While most of our bid opportunities follow a public procurement route, you will occasionally prepare and submit proactive pitch or proposal documents outside of a formal procurement.
