The Bid Manager role is responsible for:

  • implementing our proven bid and governance procedures;
  • maintaining our quality strike rate and achieving our internal bid Service Level Agreement;
  • planning, managing, and submitting Expressions of Interest, Selection Questionnaires, and tenders;
  • manging a range of stakeholder input including business development, operations, commercial, H&S, sustainability, social value, and legal.
  • identifying and tracking the bid programme and any associated risks;
  • driving the capture and planning phase of each bid;
  • ensuring win themes are clear and compelling;
  • planning, drafting, writing, and coordinating question responses;
  • identifying best practice in bidding and making sure we continually improve;
  • helping to plan interviews;
  • producing presentations for interview teams;
  • visiting operational sites and other offices to gather information and improve our evidence library;

  • helping to manage our team bid library.

We work on bids that range in value from £1 million to £500 million. Most of our bids are for the refurbishment of social housing, although public and commercial buildings are increasingly important. We work closely with a dedicated Estimating team who are responsible for handling the pricing element of bids. Our region covers the home counties, South East, and East of England. The work winning team manages up to 10 bids at a time, so it’s important to use our collective knowledge and experience to ensure we all succeed. While most of our bid opportunities follow a public procurement route, you will occasionally prepare and submit proactive pitch or proposal documents outside of a formal procurement.
