EQUANS is looking for a Supervisor (Mechanical) to join our team in Halifax on a permanent basis at Calderdale Royal Hospital. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview:
To undertake a proactive role to carry out maintenance, repairs and inspection of the building fabric, joinery services, associated systems, plant and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures. Impact: Deliver a safe, happy & compliant hospital environment to provide the best possible patient experience. Minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance issues in accordance with the requirements of the Concession / Project Agreement. Ensure there is minimum disruption to wards and departments throughout the site whilst carrying out works.
Complexity:
Complete allocated Reactive & Maintenance tasks with in timeframes required by the contract. Work collaboratively with other Equans staff members as well as our Service partners. All within a challenging but rewarding healthcare environment.
1. Carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, joinery services, associated systems, plant and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.
2. Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
3. Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests
4. Ensure that there is minimum disruption to the Wards and Departments whilst carrying out work.
5. Collaborate and co-operate with the Trust, partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focussed service
6. Where instructed, carry out minor repairs to the building fabric to ensure the safety and security of the Trust’s premises, patients, staff and visitors.
7. Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
8. Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking tasks with other trades and contractors. 9. Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers’ guidelines.
10. Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures
11. Respond in a safe manner to the effects of bad weather, eg. Snow clearing, gritting, flooding, high winds, etc.
12. Maintain records as appropriate.
13. Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
14. Undertake training where necessary to learn other skills and to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
15. Participate in emergency Standby rota.
16. Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS projects as directed.
17. Implement Infection Control requirements through information, instruction and training.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
Hold an NVQ in Joinery other similar qualifications will be considered for the right candidate. Experience in a Healthcare environment or experience working in similar contractual arrangement.
