Equans is looking for a Plumber to join our team at Woodland View Hospital, Irvine on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is competitive salary and in addition you will receive an excellent benefits package.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plumber to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and continuous operation of building systems, plant, equipment, fabric, and grounds across multiple hospital sites. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager and taking direction from the Facilities Team Leader, you will contribute to maintenance, repairs, and minor project works, primarily based at Woodland View Hospital. 

What will you deliver?

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks on building systems, equipment, and fabric.
  • Undertake minor project works and support operational needs as required.
  • Ensure the proper use of specialist tools and calibration equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Maintain attention to detail and adhere to specific parameters as outlined in manuals and instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to deliver high standards of service.
  • Provide occasional support to other local EQUANS sites and hospital units, ensuring continuity of service across locations.

Who are we looking for?

  • Must have successfully completed a recognised plumbing apprenticeship and have a proven experience in a similar role carrying out mechanical maintenance duties. Hospital maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Be competent to undertake/assist work on the type of building service systems and equipment for which the appointment is sought.

    Be familiar with the type of systems and equipment on which work is required to be undertaken.

  • Possess technical knowledge and sufficient experience to avoid any danger that may be presented by the work to be undertaken.

    Have an adequate knowledge of and within the preceding three years have received training in first aid (including CPR Training). If not held, training will be given.

  • Desirable but not essential to have some knowledge of all the relevant Scottish Health Technical Memoranda (SHTM) and to work within Permit to Work procedures as appropriate (SHTM 01 – 08, BSRIA, L8, pressure systems Regulations 2000, etc).

This role includes a Disclosure Scotland Basic check therefore ability to pass is essential.
