Job Title: Gas Engineer (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Are you an experienced and qualified Gas Engineer looking for a new challenge? Join Equans on a 6-month fixed-term contract and play a key role in delivering vital gas services across Stoke’s educational facilities. About the Role:
As a Mobile Gas Engineer, you will work as part of our in-house engineering team to deliver both planned and reactive gas maintenance within Stoke Schools. You will be responsible for fault finding, repairs, regular maintenance of gas systems, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
- Fault find and repair gas-fired boiler plants and heating systems.
- Perform regular planned maintenance on gas assets.
- Provide lifecycle and defect reports on gas systems.
- Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with the helpdesk, site staff, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations.
- Take ownership of client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
- Be available for emergency call-outs and provide incident reports when required.
- Maintain clear and legible records and follow EQUANS’ QA procedures.

Who We’re Looking For:
- Recognised Commercial Gas Qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ level)
- Extensive experience in gas maintenance, installation, and repair
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk assessments
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on quality and safety
- Previous FM experience within a PFI environment is advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to join the on-call/emergency call-out rota
- Enhanced DBS check required
