Equans is looking for a Regional Director to join our team covering the South of England on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

This role requires weekly travel to various sites across the South of England.

Reporting to the Operations Director this role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of contractual services to HMCTS. The HMCTS contract is of high importance to EQUANS and delivers a range of hard and soft FM services via mobile and static internal resources and external, specialist contractors and with support from the wider EQUANS functions in a safe and effective way. Leading, directing and motivating a team of circa 700 over 160 sites with a £30m pa budget. This role plays a critical part in directing the regional operational and technical teams ensuring a smooth and contractually compliant delivery to the HMCTS client and their end users, they will lead the management interface with the Client and be responsible for ensuring the region meets the KPI expectations.

We are looking for a self-motivated and driven individual able to add expertise and leadership to the team. With demonstrable experience of managing complex and high-volume operational contract deliverables with ability to respond flexibly and efficiently to changing business needs. Will establish good working relationships with both client and team members.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working on corporate contracts, ideally within the public sector. Strong commercial acumen and excellent team management skills.

 

What will you deliver?

  • Develop and maintain a healthy business relationship with the Client which includes promoting EQUANS Business capabilities, building trust and maximising growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships which will enable them to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Build and direct a senior management operational team to ensure services are delivered and adequately supported in the most efficient and effective manner, ensuring all contractual KPIs, SLAs & deliverables are achieved, taking positive steps to address challenges as appropriate
  • Develop and analyse robust and agile financial models to maximise profitability and costs control. Continually challenge and review of P&L identifying opportunities to improve contract financial performance as required by the role
  • In line with financial planning, develop strong business plans which outline strategic and tactical goals for the success of the Southern region. As a minimum, this should include Operational, Safety, Financial, Statutory Compliance, Energy and Sustainability initiatives
  • Ownership, preparation and timely submission of all MI, Reports and Risk Registers into the Customer and Business as required
  • Ensure all operational, safety, people and financial targets and forecasts are achieved across the contract and where necessary develop detailed recovery plans to address underperformance
  • Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and policies to economise service delivery across the Contract while increasing productivity
  • Promote a Safety-First culture always ensuring statutory compliance of the contract and the safe working of all EQUANS employees and contractors on the contract
  • Ensure all elements of employment procedures and processes, including disciplinary & grievance, attendance management and performance management are adhered to in accordance with Company policies
  • Responsible for employee development, succession planning, employee empowerment and talent management across teams including support for talent pipelines ie. Apprenticeships and leadership development
  • Management of all non-conformances (NCR’s) across the Contract
  • Supporting the development and implementation of the Responsible Business plan for the Contract
  • Identification and implementation of Continuous Improvement opportunities to enhance the performance of the team and contract

Who are we looking for?

  • A strong leader who is able to demonstrate operational experience in managing contracts with critical services in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills
  • Process orientated individual with experience in continuous improvement and adding value to contracts under their direct management
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness and skills to deliver contract compliance alongside contract and EBIT growth
  • A strategic individual who has strong customer relationship skills and can position themselves as their trusted advisor for the Client
  • An inspiring leader & influencer with imagination and a track record of innovation
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and Quality systems
  • Ability to write reports, business cases, case studies and have excellent presentation skills
