Equans is looking for an Electrical Craftsperson to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week and there is also an on call rota. On offer is a salary banding of £31,000 – £34,840 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
- The responsibilities will be at the Mental Health Sites
- Maintenance of electrical systems lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, nurse call, pat testing, fixed wire testing correctives, general electrical maintenance

Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to own trade, without supervision

Set up New Work appropriate to own trade using relevant tools, equipment, and machinery, without supervision, as appropriate to his/her grade

After appropriate training, work off tower scaffolding, MEWP’s, ladders, and step ladders and within confined spaces

Ensure all PPM and Reactive work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions and response and repair times

Scope of work will include entering departments containing service users undergoing various treatments/procedures after reporting to departmental staff. Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances could be encountered

Participation in the out of hours on call rota (vehicle provided, only for when on call)

Electrical Installation – Approved apprenticeship with either:

City & Guild 236 Part 1, 2 & 3 Parts A, B, C or

City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1, 2, 3 or

City & Guilds 2330 Level 2, Level 3, (Level 4 – desirable) or
-
City & Guilds 2560 (2357) – Diploma
-

18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671 – 2018 Amendment)
-
HTM-06-(02)(03) Competent Person for LV
-
Driving licence
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
