Equans are recruiting for a Fire Door Inspector & Maintainer to be based onsite at The University of Sheffield. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
The Fire Door Inspector & Maintainer will ensure safety of the public by identifying, investigating, and reducing risk. You will participate in a one team approach to the allocation of duties, supporting and working effectively with colleagues to provide good working relationships within the University of Sheffield contract and wider NW&C region.

What will you deliver?
- Carrying out inspection of fire doors at each site in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Carrying out maintenance & repairs of fire doors at each site in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner
- Using the Bolster app on the PDA (tablet) to follow a check list to report on the status of each fire door
- Building professional relationships with clients
- Maintaining accurate and precise documentation of works completed
- Following process to ensure each inspection is completed correctly
- Be responsible for keeping the company vehicle clean, tidy and presentable
- Handling tools of various types and ensuring safe set up
- Ensuring all tools and machinery are kept clean and in good repair
- Adhering to safety guidelines whilst on the job site

Who are we looking for?
- NVQ Level 2 in a recognized trade (preferred)
- Experience working as a Joiner/Joinery (Prefferable)
- Experience of carrying out Fire Door Inspections and maintenance & repairs (Desirable)
- Recognised Fire Door Inspection qualifications (FDIS, BRE etc) – Desirable
- A sound understanding of Health and Safety Legislation (SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH)
- Confident communicator with excellent customer interaction skills
- Administration skills, including use of CAFM system and Microsoft Office applications
- Must have a full and clean UK Driving Licence
This role includes a standard DBS check therefore ability to pass is essential
