Fire Door Inspector

EQUANS is recruiting for a Fire Door Inspector to be based in University of Sheffield, 14a Endcliffe Avenue, Sheffield. S10 3EA. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary between £23,000 – £24,258 depending on experience and benefits package.

30 mins lunch – 12:30pm

What will you deliver?

The Fire Door Inspector will ensure safety of the public by identifying, investigating, and reducing risk. They will be responsible for developing effective relationships and ensuring that pro-active communication is maintained continuously with all internal & external stakeholders. 

They will plan and prioritise work within recognised safe systems of work, business policies, procedures and in accordance with all aspects of health and safety legislation. They will participate in a one team approach to the allocation of duties, supporting and working effectively with colleagues to provide good working relationships within the University of Sheffield contract and wider NW&C region. The Fire Door Inspector will report into the Fire Door Supervisor.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience of carrying out Fire Door Inspections is essential .
• Recognised Fire Door Inspection qualifications (FDIS, BRE etc) .
• Ability to work unsupervised. 
• A sound understanding of Health and Safety Legislation (SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH). 
• Confident communicator with excellent customer interaction skills. 
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload. 
• Administration skills, including use of CAFM system and Microsoft Office applications.
