Equans is looking for an Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team in North West & Central on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The role holder will be an effective partner to the business, providing support, challenge, expertise and a clear framework as appropriate. Partner the Sector MD and provide leadership to the finance team of the Sector.
Focus and drive towards net margin % enhancement and cash generation.
Own and drive through efficiency improvements providing a clear, simple, streamlined service, working with peer group to ensure consistency of delivery.
What will you deliver?
- The “face of Finance” at the local level – communicating to / from the Operator counterpart.
- Managing the provision of standardised management accounting services for the Sector, including all aspects of business planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting and control; ensuring the sectors finances are in line with accounting policies and are reported with integrity
- Timely preparation and interpretation of management accounts, business plans and forecasts related to the business area, recommending actions based on appropriate analysis and financial appraisal
- Providing trusted advice and support related to financial management and control to operational colleagues
- Involvement in ensuring the commercial standing of new projects; in the pricing, planning, implementation and delivery stages. This includes leading on financial modelling, review, challenge and validate financial approach on new business and projects
- Ensuring that effective financial controls operate across the business area, and that financial risk is understood and minimised
- Supporting the maintenance and development of effective and efficient financial control processes and systems, including identifying opportunities and owing through to implementation.
- Supporting the development of performance management tools to include KPIs and dashboards
- Contributing business area knowledge and expertise within the Division and wider UKBU as needed
- Seeking opportunities to improve the finance support service to the business area, working closely with non-finance colleagues
- Leadership and development of the Finance and Admin teams for the Sector
- Working with other functions who support the sector including Commercial, Procurement, Legal etc.
- Partnership of the Sector Managing Director
- Ad-hoc projects, which may include Contract recovery investigations, implementation and realisation of performance improvement plans.

Who are we looking for?
- Previous relevant experience in a Senior Finance Business Partner role
- Exposure to some or all of Facilities Management and Projects
- Experience with a Mobile-FM/Technical business is an added advantage
- Good financial & commercial acumen
- Ability to analyse complex data accurately and succinctly
- Able to communicate with and explain financial concepts to non-finance people
- Able to communicate effectively throughout the organisational hierarchy
- Ability to influence effectively with strong negotiating capabilities
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Open to innovation and new ways of working
- A ‘can do’ attitude with a willingness to challenge the status quo
- The ability to overcome roadblocks and deal with strategic and operational issues as they arise
