Equans is looking for a Facility Support Engineer to join our team at the National Maritime College in Cork on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment in accordance with the PPM programme.
  • Respond in a timely manner to breakdown requests.
  • Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines.
  • Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand, and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
  • Provide support for Pool Plant Operation – training will be provided.
  • Maintain records as appropriate and according to the guidelines provided.
  • Undertake a willingness to assist and work flexibly with other members of the EQUANS’ team.
  • Undertake training where necessary to maintain and develop the requirements of the service
  • Carry out any other reasonable instructions and requests of the Maintenance Manager and desginee, not detailed above.
  • Participate in project work as and when required.
  • Maintain stock levels according to the stock system in place.
  • Liaise and engage with users to ensure confidence in the EQUANS’ service.
  • Participate actively in audits and the close of audit actions in a timely fashion.

Who are we looking for?

  • Workshop machinery maintenance experience – lathes, mills, drills.
  • Mechanical and Electrical maintenance experience.
  • Compressor, AHU, and air conditioning maintenance
  • Marine maintenance experience (Boat handling skills).
  • Ability to adapt to changing environment and priorities.
  • Decision making and teamwork ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • PC skills essential.
