Equans is looking for an Regional Business Manager to join our Smart Buildings team in the Midlands, on a permanent, full time and remote working. On offer is a competitive salary, car or car allowance and benefits package.

Our current portfolio of solutions has applications across a variety of markets including but not limited to Businesses, Domestic and the Public sector including Health, Education and Local / Central Government.

Key activities:

The Regional Business Manager will focus on Building Management Systems (BMS) projects and services. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can oversee project execution, manage service activities, and take responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) performance within the specified region.

Smart buildings currently deliver project works ranging from £10k – £1.5m in singular size + variations via an evolving blend of inhouse delivery supplemented by a selection of specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, this role will be paramount in helping to define shape and grow the team to ensure we grow sustainably.

  • Develop and execute regional business strategies for BMS projects and services, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Manage and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure successful execution, meeting quality, timeline, and budget targets.
  • Oversee service activities, including maintenance contracts, troubleshooting, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Assume responsibility for the Profit and Loss (P&L) performance within the region, driving revenue growth and cost management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for regional clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and capitalize on new project opportunities, as well as promoting service offerings to existing clients.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in business management, specifically in the BMS sector, with a focus on projects and services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Building Management Systems technology and its applications in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing teams and achieving P&L targets.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships.
  • Project management experience, ensuring the successful delivery of BMS projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage costs effectively.
